Posljednja ovogodišnja sjednica Općinskog vijeća Milne, imala je tek dvije točke dnevnog reda, no jedna je pobrala simpatije i samih vijećnika, ali i stanovnika najzapadnije bračke općine.

Odlučili su milnaranski "poglavari" kako će njihov sportski centar biti preimenovan u Sportsko-rekreacijski centar "Stanko Poklepović-Špaco"! U sjećanje na sportskog velikana, nogometnog virtuoza, vrhunskog trenera, njihova Milnaranina.

- Posebno mi je drago što smo uspjeli između Božića i Nove godine, u posljednjem tjednu stare godine održati sjednicu Općinskog vijeća. Osim trećeg ovogodišnjeg proračunskog rebalansa, donijeli smo i odluku o promjeni imena našeg sportsko-rekreacijskog centra "Bregana".

Napokon smo ga nazvali imenom dostojnim čovjeka koji je svojim sportskim djelovanjem u nogometu promovirao ime naše Milne diljem naše domovine i šire – ističe Frano Lozić, SDP-ov načelnik Milne, pojašnjavajući:

- Puno je Milna dala nogometaša, ali vjerujem kako je u svojoj nogometnoj karijeri upravo naš Špaco postigao najveće sportske uspjehe i rezultate.

Zahvaljuje Lozić vijećnicima što su ovu odluku donijeli upravo 28. prosinca, na četvrtu godišnjicu ispraćaja velikog Stanka Poklepovića Špace u njegovoj Milni.

Ujedno načelnik navodi i podatke iz biografije legendarnog Špace koji je rođen 19. travnja 1938. godine. Gotovo cijelu svoju igračku karijeru proveo je u dresu Radničkog nogometnog kluba "Split", s počecima u "Talasu" iz Milne i završnim danima u "Jadranu" iz Kaštel Sućurca, dok je trenersku karijeru započeo u juniorima "Hajduka".

Bio je blizak suradnik najpriznatijeg hrvatskog trenera Tomislava Ivića. Prvu momčad bijelih vodio je od 1984. do 1986., zatim je preuzeo titogradsku "Budućnost" (1987–89), pa banjolučki "Borac" (1989., 1990). Slijedi treniranje "Apoela" iz ciparske Nikozije, da bi 1991. ponovno preuzeo "Hajduk", s kojim osvaja prvo prvenstvo Hrvatske 1992. godine.

Iste godine bio je i izbornik hrvatske reprezentacije. U sezoni 1994./95. bio je i izbornik reprezentacije Irana, a potom je trenirao i jedan od ponajboljih iranskih klubova "Pirouzi" (1995.-97.). U Sloveniji je trenirao "Publikum" iz Celja (1997.-98.). Potom se vraća u Hrvatsku i preuzima "Osijek", s kojim osvaja kup 1999. godine.

Bio je i trener mađarskog "Ferencvárosa", iranskog "Isfahana", a trenirao je i pulsku "Istru", "Dubrovnik", "Solin" i "Mladost 127" iz Suhopolja. Prije početka proljetnog dijela sezone 2009./10., Špaco je preuzeo klupu splitskih bijelih, te ispunjava postavljeni cilj do kraja sezone - osvaja naslov pobjednika kupa. Svoju trenersku karijeru završava 2015. godine.

Preminuo je u Splitu 24. prosinca 2018. godine.

Posljednja ovogodišnja sjednica Općinskog vijeća Milne, imala je tek dvije točke dnevnog reda, no jedna je pobrala simpatije i samih vijećnika, ali i stanovnika najzapadnije bračke općine.

Odlučili su milnaranski "poglavari" kako će njihov sportski centar biti preimenovan u Sportsko-rekreacijski centar "Stanko Poklepović-Špaco"! U sjećanje na sportskog velikana, nogometnog virtuoza, vrhunskog trenera, njihova Milnaranina.

- Posebno mi je drago što smo uspjeli između Božića i Nove godine, u posljednjem tjednu stare godine održati sjednicu Općinskog vijeća. Osim trećeg ovogodišnjeg proračunskog rebalansa, donijeli smo i odluku o promjeni imena našeg sportsko-rekreacijskog centra "Bregana".

Napokon smo ga nazvali imenom dostojnim čovjeka koji je svojim sportskim djelovanjem u nogometu promovirao ime naše Milne diljem naše domovine i šire – ističe Frano Lozić, SDP-ov načelnik Milne, pojašnjavajući:

- Puno je Milna dala nogometaša, ali vjerujem kako je u svojoj nogometnoj karijeri upravo naš Špaco postigao najveće sportske uspjehe i rezultate.

Zahvaljuje Lozić vijećnicima što su ovu odluku donijeli upravo 28. prosinca, na četvrtu godišnjicu ispraćaja velikog Stanka Poklepovića Špace u njegovoj Milni.

Ujedno načelnik navodi i podatke iz biografije legendarnog Špace koji je rođen 19. travnja 1938. godine. Gotovo cijelu svoju igračku karijeru proveo je u dresu Radničkog nogometnog kluba "Split", s počecima u "Talasu" iz Milne i završnim danima u "Jadranu" iz Kaštel Sućurca, dok je trenersku karijeru započeo u juniorima "Hajduka".

Bio je blizak suradnik najpriznatijeg hrvatskog trenera Tomislava Ivića. Prvu momčad bijelih vodio je od 1984. do 1986., zatim je preuzeo titogradsku "Budućnost" (1987–89), pa banjolučki "Borac" (1989., 1990). Slijedi treniranje "Apoela" iz ciparske Nikozije, da bi 1991. ponovno preuzeo "Hajduk", s kojim osvaja prvo prvenstvo Hrvatske 1992. godine.

Iste godine bio je i izbornik hrvatske reprezentacije. U sezoni 1994./95. bio je i izbornik reprezentacije Irana, a potom je trenirao i jedan od ponajboljih iranskih klubova "Pirouzi" (1995.-97.). U Sloveniji je trenirao "Publikum" iz Celja (1997.-98.). Potom se vraća u Hrvatsku i preuzima "Osijek", s kojim osvaja kup 1999. godine.

Bio je i trener mađarskog "Ferencvárosa", iranskog "Isfahana", a trenirao je i pulsku "Istru", "Dubrovnik", "Solin" i "Mladost 127" iz Suhopolja. Prije početka proljetnog dijela sezone 2009./10., Špaco je preuzeo klupu splitskih bijelih, te ispunjava postavljeni cilj do kraja sezone - osvaja naslov pobjednika kupa. Svoju trenersku karijeru završava 2015. godine.

Preminuo je u Splitu 24. prosinca 2018. godine.
