Američki mediji objavili su ovih danas kako neidentificirani virus sličan parvovirusu pogađa pse u saveznoj državi Michigan, posebno štence. Navodno je došao s juga SAD-a, iz Lousiane, a kao simptomi spominju se povraćanje, proljev, kao i krvavi proljev. Izvještaji govore kako su svi zaraženi štenci uginuli, neovisno o statusu cijepljenja. Zaraženi pas obično ugine tri dana od pojave simptoma. Trebaju li strahovati dubrovački vlasnici kućnih ljubimaca, otkrio je veterinar Branko Širok.

- To je slično parvoinfekciji gdje se obično javljaju ti simptomi, kroz tri-četiri dana životinja dehidrira i ugine tako da tu ne vidim ništa novo. Javljaju se upravo povraćanje, proljevi, krvavi proljevi jer dolazi do drastičnog oštećenja tankog i debelog crijeva. To se simptomatski liječi infuzijama i antibioticima radi sekundarne infekcije. Jedino rješenje je cijepljenje. Ono što se događa u Americi treba vidjeti, treba vidjet postotak... Mislim da tog oblika kod nas nema. Ako je neki virus ili neka nova varijanta normalno da cijepljenje ne štiti, to je nova bolest koja traži novo istraživanje i novo cjepivo. Prilagodba cjepiva traje, već postoji iskustvo s parvom i sa štenećakom, ali je to procedura koja, kao i kod ljudi, traži određeni broj testiranja i reakcija. Sad se rade i serumi za parvoinfekciju gdje su već gotova antitijela koja se odmah mogu primijeniti kao borba protiv virusa, ističe Širok koji malo radi s kućnim ljubimcima, tek usput po terenu.

- Što se tiče parvoinfekcijie, one su se pojavljivale i prošle i prije dvije, tri godine na našem području, virus se pojavljivao kod malih pasa koji su ugibali, ali i kod velikih - i veliki bi znali uginuti. Međutim, sve smo to tumačili kao parvovirozu, a obično mali psi nisu bili cijepljeni. Također, parvovirus i štenećak mogu uhvatiti veliki psi, bez obzira. Ne znam kakva je situacija ove godine, ali mislim da je to stalno tu i da cirkulira, nije to baš nestalo. Štenećak nisam vidio sigurno 15, 20 godina. Kad se pas zarazi parvovirusom,  ugine. Veliki tretman je potreban, ako idete u ambulante, pas svakodnevno dobije infuzije i to bude dobro i može biti uspješno, ali ako se ništa ne poduzima ili ako se nešto površno napravi, a ne uporno par dana, pas ugine, upozorava veterinar.

Doktorica veterinarske medicine Sunčica Oštrić koja u Mokošici od 2010. vodi ambulantu za male životinje 'Anima Vita' kaže kako nije upoznata s pojavom smrtonosnog virusa među psićima u Sjedinjenim Državama, no može sa sigurnošću reći kako je parvovirus uvijek prisutan i zapravo je neiskorjenjiv:

- Posebno je opasan za male štence kojima imunološki sustav još nije razvijen, a treba im dva do tri mjeseca da steknu imunitet. Ozbiljna je to zaraza s dosta visokom stopom smrtnosti. Ako zahvati cijelo leglo, kreće se od 70 do 80 posto, ako se na vrijeme ne liječi može imati kobne posljedice - ističe veterinarka i upozorava na simptome:

- Simptomi parvoviroze javljaju se prvog dana s povišenom tjelesnom temperaturom. Štenac je bezvoljan, gubi tek i na kraju počinje potpuno odbijati hranu. Dva do tri dana od zaraze, kad virus prijeđe u tanko crijevo, javlja se kod zaraženih pasa smeđi proljev boje čokolade. Izuzetno je važno da životinja bude na terapiji. Ne postoji specifična terapija za parvovirozu, ona se prilagodi, a nužno je da je prate i svakodnevne infuzije. U protivnom, za desetak dana dolazi do ugibanja - zaključila je naša sugovornica.

Američki mediji objavili su ovih danas kako neidentificirani virus sličan parvovirusu pogađa pse u saveznoj državi Michigan, posebno štence. Navodno je došao s juga SAD-a, iz Lousiane, a kao simptomi spominju se povraćanje, proljev, kao i krvavi proljev. Izvještaji govore kako su svi zaraženi štenci uginuli, neovisno o statusu cijepljenja. Zaraženi pas obično ugine tri dana od pojave simptoma. Trebaju li strahovati dubrovački vlasnici kućnih ljubimaca, otkrio je veterinar Branko Širok.

- To je slično parvoinfekciji gdje se obično javljaju ti simptomi, kroz tri-četiri dana životinja dehidrira i ugine tako da tu ne vidim ništa novo. Javljaju se upravo povraćanje, proljevi, krvavi proljevi jer dolazi do drastičnog oštećenja tankog i debelog crijeva. To se simptomatski liječi infuzijama i antibioticima radi sekundarne infekcije. Jedino rješenje je cijepljenje. Ono što se događa u Americi treba vidjeti, treba vidjet postotak... Mislim da tog oblika kod nas nema. Ako je neki virus ili neka nova varijanta normalno da cijepljenje ne štiti, to je nova bolest koja traži novo istraživanje i novo cjepivo. Prilagodba cjepiva traje, već postoji iskustvo s parvom i sa štenećakom, ali je to procedura koja, kao i kod ljudi, traži određeni broj testiranja i reakcija. Sad se rade i serumi za parvoinfekciju gdje su već gotova antitijela koja se odmah mogu primijeniti kao borba protiv virusa, ističe Širok koji malo radi s kućnim ljubimcima, tek usput po terenu.

- Što se tiče parvoinfekcijie, one su se pojavljivale i prošle i prije dvije, tri godine na našem području, virus se pojavljivao kod malih pasa koji su ugibali, ali i kod velikih - i veliki bi znali uginuti. Međutim, sve smo to tumačili kao parvovirozu, a obično mali psi nisu bili cijepljeni. Također, parvovirus i štenećak mogu uhvatiti veliki psi, bez obzira. Ne znam kakva je situacija ove godine, ali mislim da je to stalno tu i da cirkulira, nije to baš nestalo. Štenećak nisam vidio sigurno 15, 20 godina. Kad se pas zarazi parvovirusom,  ugine. Veliki tretman je potreban, ako idete u ambulante, pas svakodnevno dobije infuzije i to bude dobro i može biti uspješno, ali ako se ništa ne poduzima ili ako se nešto površno napravi, a ne uporno par dana, pas ugine, upozorava veterinar.

Doktorica veterinarske medicine Sunčica Oštrić koja u Mokošici od 2010. vodi ambulantu za male životinje 'Anima Vita' kaže kako nije upoznata s pojavom smrtonosnog virusa među psićima u Sjedinjenim Državama, no može sa sigurnošću reći kako je parvovirus uvijek prisutan i zapravo je neiskorjenjiv:

- Posebno je opasan za male štence kojima imunološki sustav još nije razvijen, a treba im dva do tri mjeseca da steknu imunitet. Ozbiljna je to zaraza s dosta visokom stopom smrtnosti. Ako zahvati cijelo leglo, kreće se od 70 do 80 posto, ako se na vrijeme ne liječi može imati kobne posljedice - ističe veterinarka i upozorava na simptome:

- Simptomi parvoviroze javljaju se prvog dana s povišenom tjelesnom temperaturom. Štenac je bezvoljan, gubi tek i na kraju počinje potpuno odbijati hranu. Dva do tri dana od zaraze, kad virus prijeđe u tanko crijevo, javlja se kod zaraženih pasa smeđi proljev boje čokolade. Izuzetno je važno da životinja bude na terapiji. Ne postoji specifična terapija za parvovirozu, ona se prilagodi, a nužno je da je prate i svakodnevne infuzije. U protivnom, za desetak dana dolazi do ugibanja - zaključila je naša sugovornica.
