Britansko izdanje magazina Vogue na naslovnici za veljaču krasi čak 9 afričkih modela. I dok je Vogue želio poslati jasnu poruku o važnosti reprezentacije, dobar dio čitatelja nije sretan s finalnim proizvodom.

Prema pisanju portala Gloria Glam, glavni urednik britanskog Voguea Edward Enninful odlučio je u veljači slaviti nove afričke nade, odnosno zaokret koji u modnu industriju donose novi modeli. Novu generaciju tako prema njegovom odabiru čine Adut Akech, Anok Yai, Majesty Amare, Amar Akway, Janet Jumbo, Maty Fall, Nyagua Ruea, Abény Nhial i Akon Changkou. 

Luksuzne modne kuće kao što su Prada, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent i Miu Miu na svojim su revijama i u svoje kampanje uključile modele crne boje kože i time krenule u borbu protiv manjka raznolikosti u modnoj industriji koja je zbog toga već godinama kritizirana. Enninful smatra da se nalazimo u trenutku promjene i da je stiglo vrijeme za afričke modele.

"Ove djevojke redefiniraju značenje modela. Kao što znate, moda često prati valove. Imali smo brazilski val, nizozemski val, ruski val... Čini se da je sada napokon došlo vrijeme za afrički val. Napokon dajemo više prostora afričkoj ljepoti", izjavio je glavni urednik britanskog Voguea na čijoj su naslovnici radili fotograf Rafael Pavarotti, novinarka Funmi Fetto, hair stilistica Virginie de Pinto Moreira, make-up artist Ammy Drameh, dok je za manikure bila zadužena Pebbles Aikens, a set dizajn Ibby Njoya. Modeli na naslovnici nose odjeću modne kuće Balenciaga, a Enninful je kao stilist odlučio da će ih sve odjenuti u crno. 

Iako je dio čitatelja oduševljen s naslovnicom koja svakako predstavlja iskorak - česti su komentari da nešto ovakvo ne bi bilo moguće s izdanjem američkog Voguea - mnogi su istaknuli određene probleme ove afričke naslovnice. 

"Modeli su prekrasni, ali fotografija je užasna", samo je jedan od komentara kojim se želi naglasiti kako se odabirom stylinga i seta zapravo u drugi plan stavila boja kože, odnosno da su se modeli "stopili" s pozadinom zbog lošeg osvjetljenja i da njihova boja kože i njihove razlike uopće nisu došle do izražaja. Drugi, vrlo česti komentar čitatelja je i problem s kosom - naime, niti jedan od modela na fotografiji nema prirodnu kosu čime se zapravo afrička ljepota ne slavi, već se podređuje onome što je definirano lijepim i poželjnim na Zapadu, navodi Gloria Glam.

Britansko izdanje magazina Vogue na naslovnici za veljaču krasi čak 9 afričkih modela. I dok je Vogue želio poslati jasnu poruku o važnosti reprezentacije, dobar dio čitatelja nije sretan s finalnim proizvodom.

Prema pisanju portala Gloria Glam, glavni urednik britanskog Voguea Edward Enninful odlučio je u veljači slaviti nove afričke nade, odnosno zaokret koji u modnu industriju donose novi modeli. Novu generaciju tako prema njegovom odabiru čine Adut Akech, Anok Yai, Majesty Amare, Amar Akway, Janet Jumbo, Maty Fall, Nyagua Ruea, Abény Nhial i Akon Changkou. 

Luksuzne modne kuće kao što su Prada, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent i Miu Miu na svojim su revijama i u svoje kampanje uključile modele crne boje kože i time krenule u borbu protiv manjka raznolikosti u modnoj industriji koja je zbog toga već godinama kritizirana. Enninful smatra da se nalazimo u trenutku promjene i da je stiglo vrijeme za afričke modele.

"Ove djevojke redefiniraju značenje modela. Kao što znate, moda često prati valove. Imali smo brazilski val, nizozemski val, ruski val... Čini se da je sada napokon došlo vrijeme za afrički val. Napokon dajemo više prostora afričkoj ljepoti", izjavio je glavni urednik britanskog Voguea na čijoj su naslovnici radili fotograf Rafael Pavarotti, novinarka Funmi Fetto, hair stilistica Virginie de Pinto Moreira, make-up artist Ammy Drameh, dok je za manikure bila zadužena Pebbles Aikens, a set dizajn Ibby Njoya. Modeli na naslovnici nose odjeću modne kuće Balenciaga, a Enninful je kao stilist odlučio da će ih sve odjenuti u crno. 

Iako je dio čitatelja oduševljen s naslovnicom koja svakako predstavlja iskorak - česti su komentari da nešto ovakvo ne bi bilo moguće s izdanjem američkog Voguea - mnogi su istaknuli određene probleme ove afričke naslovnice.

Britansko izdanje magazina Vogue na naslovnici za veljaču krasi čak 9 afričkih modela. I dok je Vogue želio poslati jasnu poruku o važnosti reprezentacije, dobar dio čitatelja nije sretan s finalnim proizvodom.

Prema pisanju portala Gloria Glam, glavni urednik britanskog Voguea Edward Enninful odlučio je u veljači slaviti nove afričke nade, odnosno zaokret koji u modnu industriju donose novi modeli. Novu generaciju tako prema njegovom odabiru čine Adut Akech, Anok Yai, Majesty Amare, Amar Akway, Janet Jumbo, Maty Fall, Nyagua Ruea, Abény Nhial i Akon Changkou. 

Luksuzne modne kuće kao što su Prada, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent i Miu Miu na svojim su revijama i u svoje kampanje uključile modele crne boje kože i time krenule u borbu protiv manjka raznolikosti u modnoj industriji koja je zbog toga već godinama kritizirana. Enninful smatra da se nalazimo u trenutku promjene i da je stiglo vrijeme za afričke modele.

"Ove djevojke redefiniraju značenje modela. Kao što znate, moda često prati valove. Imali smo brazilski val, nizozemski val, ruski val... Čini se da je sada napokon došlo vrijeme za afrički val. Napokon dajemo više prostora afričkoj ljepoti", izjavio je glavni urednik britanskog Voguea na čijoj su naslovnici radili fotograf Rafael Pavarotti, novinarka Funmi Fetto, hair stilistica Virginie de Pinto Moreira, make-up artist Ammy Drameh, dok je za manikure bila zadužena Pebbles Aikens, a set dizajn Ibby Njoya. Modeli na naslovnici nose odjeću modne kuće Balenciaga, a Enninful je kao stilist odlučio da će ih sve odjenuti u crno. 

Iako je dio čitatelja oduševljen s naslovnicom koja svakako predstavlja iskorak - česti su komentari da nešto ovakvo ne bi bilo moguće s izdanjem američkog Voguea - mnogi su istaknuli određene probleme ove afričke naslovnice.
