Kakva je bila utrka TCR Istočne Europe na Red Bull Ringu? Imala je sve što gledatelj može poželjeti: tijesnu utrku, dramatičnu bitku za pobjedu između Gruzijca Davita Kajaie i Nijemca Sebastiana Steibela. Kajaia je na kraju zadržao vodstvo i kroz cilj prošao kao prvi sa svojom Hondom Civic. Formirale su se na slavnoj stazi dvije skupine, četvorica su ‘iskočila’, dok je drugoj skupini, koja je držala pozicije od petog do desetog mjesta, koja donose bodove,  prijetio Dubrovčanin Žarko Knego.

Na kraju nije uspio, dvanaesti u prvoj utrci za bodove, a jedanaesti u drugoj, i to je za desetim Petr Čižekom iz Češke zaostao 0,046 sekundi, a nakon 14 odvoženih krugova za petim tek četiri sekunde...

- Staza je podijeljena na sektore, staza Red Bull Ring u tri sektora. Imao sam u drugoj vožnji najbrže vrijeme u prvom sektoru. Zatim moj najbrži krug je bio u TOP 5... Strašno su male razlike – ‘puše’ Žarko Knego nakon nastupa u Austriji, Red Bull Ring je treća stanica sezone na kojoj su se održale peta i šesta utrka sezone.

Na neslužbenim treninzima je bio odličan. Među pet najboljih. Šteta, u kvalifikacijama nije sve bilo tako lijepo, ali je opet bio u gornjem domu, četrnaesti sa samo pola sekunde zaostatka za sedmim.

U prvoj utrci se uspio probiti na dvanaesto mjesto, u drugoj je stigao do jedanaestog i vraški blizu desetog, a deseto mjesto bi ga drugi put ove sezone upisalo među osvajače bodova.

- Baš su bile dobre i zanimljive utrka, dobre borbe na stazi – naglasio je Knego. I opet ‘puše’, širi ruke...

Kako i ne bi kad je tako blizu vrhu, kad je na vratima TOP 10, i to u sezoni koje je, ističe se, nikad jača, nikad kvalitetnija. TCR Istočne Europe je na pola puta, a uoči preostale tri stanice, šest utrka, član Dubrovnik Racinga povukao je potez, koji je iznenadio mnoge.

- Nije baš normalno da se mijenja auto usred sezone, ali odlučio sam tako. Naravno, sve jer mislim kako će donijeti pomak. Dakle, zbogom Cupra Leonu. Prodao sam ga, te kupio Hyndai Elantra.

Iduća utrka je 10. i 11. lipnja na Slovakia Ringu.

- Sad se treba što bolje pripremiti za Slovačku, koja je za manje od tri tjedna – dodao je Knego.

Peta stranica je Most 5. i 6. kolovoza, a sezona se završava u Brnu 9. i 10. rujna.

Kakva je bila utrka TCR Istočne Europe na Red Bull Ringu? Imala je sve što gledatelj može poželjeti: tijesnu utrku, dramatičnu bitku za pobjedu između Gruzijca Davita Kajaie i Nijemca Sebastiana Steibela. Kajaia je na kraju zadržao vodstvo i kroz cilj prošao kao prvi sa svojom Hondom Civic. Formirale su se na slavnoj stazi dvije skupine, četvorica su ‘iskočila’, dok je drugoj skupini, koja je držala pozicije od petog do desetog mjesta, koja donose bodove,  prijetio Dubrovčanin Žarko Knego.

Na kraju nije uspio, dvanaesti u prvoj utrci za bodove, a jedanaesti u drugoj, i to je za desetim Petr Čižekom iz Češke zaostao 0,046 sekundi, a nakon 14 odvoženih krugova za petim tek četiri sekunde...

- Staza je podijeljena na sektore, staza Red Bull Ring u tri sektora. Imao sam u drugoj vožnji najbrže vrijeme u prvom sektoru. Zatim moj najbrži krug je bio u TOP 5... Strašno su male razlike – ‘puše’ Žarko Knego nakon nastupa u Austriji, Red Bull Ring je treća stanica sezone na kojoj su se održale peta i šesta utrka sezone.

Na neslužbenim treninzima je bio odličan. Među pet najboljih. Šteta, u kvalifikacijama nije sve bilo tako lijepo, ali je opet bio u gornjem domu, četrnaesti sa samo pola sekunde zaostatka za sedmim.

U prvoj utrci se uspio probiti na dvanaesto mjesto, u drugoj je stigao do jedanaestog i vraški blizu desetog, a deseto mjesto bi ga drugi put ove sezone upisalo među osvajače bodova.

- Baš su bile dobre i zanimljive utrka, dobre borbe na stazi – naglasio je Knego. I opet ‘puše’, širi ruke...

Kako i ne bi kad je tako blizu vrhu, kad je na vratima TOP 10, i to u sezoni koje je, ističe se, nikad jača, nikad kvalitetnija. TCR Istočne Europe je na pola puta, a uoči preostale tri stanice, šest utrka, član Dubrovnik Racinga povukao je potez, koji je iznenadio mnoge.

- Nije baš normalno da se mijenja auto usred sezone, ali odlučio sam tako. Naravno, sve jer mislim kako će donijeti pomak. Dakle, zbogom Cupra Leonu. Prodao sam ga, te kupio Hyndai Elantra.

Iduća utrka je 10. i 11. lipnja na Slovakia Ringu.

- Sad se treba što bolje pripremiti za Slovačku, koja je za manje od tri tjedna – dodao je Knego.

Peta stranica je Most 5. i 6. kolovoza, a sezona se završava u Brnu 9. i 10. rujna.

Nakon nastupa na Red Bull Ringu, Žarko Knego povukao neočekivan potez, iznenadio je mnoge: ‘Zbogom ...!‘

Kakva je bila utrka TCR Istočne Europe na Red Bull Ringu? Imala je sve što gledatelj može poželjeti: tijesnu utrku, dramatičnu bitku za pobjedu između Gruzijca Davita Kajaie i Nijemca Sebastiana Steibela. Kajaia je na kraju zadržao vodstvo i kroz cilj prošao kao prvi sa svojom Hondom Civic. Formirale su se na slavnoj stazi dvije skupine, četvorica su ‘iskočila’, dok je drugoj skupini, koja je držala pozicije od petog do desetog mjesta, koja donose bodove,  prijetio Dubrovčanin Žarko Knego.

Na kraju nije uspio, dvanaesti u prvoj utrci za bodove, a jedanaesti u drugoj, i to je za desetim Petr Čižekom iz Češke zaostao 0,046 sekundi, a nakon 14 odvoženih krugova za petim tek četiri sekunde...
