Rizik od hospitalizacije s varijantom koronavirusa omikron predstavlja samo jednu trećinu rizika od varijante delta, prema britanskoj analizi više od milijuna slučajeva obje vrste u posljednjih nekoliko tjedana.
Britanija se suočava s porastom slučajeva covida-19 zbog izrazito zarazne omikron varijante, pa je u petak prijavljeno rekordnih dnevnih 189.846 slučajeva.
Iako su prijemi u bolnice počeli rasti, vlada je rekla da vjeruje kako je nova varijanta blaža od delte.
Broj pacijenata koji treba respirator uglavnom je stabilan kroz prosinac, za razliku od ranijih vrhunaca pandemije.
Analizu je objavila britanska Agencija za zdravstvenu sigurnost (UKHSA) u suradnji s biostatičkim odjelom Sveučilišta u Cambridgeu. Analizirali su 528.176 slučaja omikrona i 573.012 delte.
Oni su također utvrdili da cjepiva dobro djeluju protiv varijante omikron.
"U ovoj analizi, rizik hospitalizacije je 81 posto niži nakon treće doze u odnosu na necijepljene slučajeve zaraze omikronom", objavila je UKHSA.
Susan Hopkins, glavna zdravstvena savjetnica u UKHSA, rekla je da je analiza u skladu s drugim ohrabrujućim znacima vezanih uz varijantu omikron, ali i naglasila da se zdravstveni sustav i dalje može naći u problemima s tako visokom stopom zaraznosti.
"Prerano je donositi definitivne zaključke o ozbiljnosti", rekla je, dodajući da će vjerojatno biti značajnog pritiska na zdravstveni sustav u nadolazećim tjednima.
Podaci od petka govore o 12.395 pacijenata u bolnicama u Engleskoj koji boluju od covida, dok ih je u četvrtak bilo 11.542, Ipak, to je puno niže od vrhunca prošlog siječnja kada je u bolnicama bilo 34.000 pacijenata.

Rizik od hospitalizacije s varijantom koronavirusa omikron predstavlja samo jednu trećinu rizika od varijante delta, prema britanskoj analizi više od milijuna slučajeva obje vrste u posljednjih nekoliko tjedana.
Britanija se suočava s porastom slučajeva covida-19 zbog izrazito zarazne omikron varijante, pa je u petak prijavljeno rekordnih dnevnih 189.846 slučajeva.
Iako su prijemi u bolnice počeli rasti, vlada je rekla da vjeruje kako je nova varijanta blaža od delte.
Broj pacijenata koji treba respirator uglavnom je stabilan kroz prosinac, za razliku od ranijih vrhunaca pandemije.
Analizu je objavila britanska Agencija za zdravstvenu sigurnost (UKHSA) u suradnji s biostatičkim odjelom Sveučilišta u Cambridgeu. Analizirali su 528.176 slučaja omikrona i 573.012 delte.
Oni su također utvrdili da cjepiva dobro djeluju protiv varijante omikron.
"U ovoj analizi, rizik hospitalizacije je 81 posto niži nakon treće doze u odnosu na necijepljene slučajeve zaraze omikronom", objavila je UKHSA.
Susan Hopkins, glavna zdravstvena savjetnica u UKHSA, rekla je da je analiza u skladu s drugim ohrabrujućim znacima vezanih uz varijantu omikron, ali i naglasila da se zdravstveni sustav i dalje može naći u problemima s tako visokom stopom zaraznosti.
"Prerano je donositi definitivne zaključke o ozbiljnosti", rekla je, dodajući da će vjerojatno biti značajnog pritiska na zdravstveni sustav u nadolazećim tjednima.
Podaci od petka govore o 12.395 pacijenata u bolnicama u Engleskoj koji boluju od covida, dok ih je u četvrtak bilo 11.542, Ipak, to je puno niže od vrhunca prošlog siječnja kada je u bolnicama bilo 34.000 pacijenata.
