Postoji stvarna opasnost od još jednog globalnog vala Covida ovog ljeta, jer bi se mogla vratiti varijanta delta, sugerira novo izraelsko istraživanje, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Recenzirana studija temelji se na najsuvremenijoj izraelskoj analizi otpadne vode u kanalizaciji, što otkriva ne samo prevalenciju slučajeva koronavirusa, već i o kojoj se varijanti radi.

Pokazalo se da čak i na vrhuncu vala omikron, prethodna varijanta delta nije nestala, iako se očekivalo da će pratiti dinamiku prethodnih valova.

Nakon praćenja uzoraka tih dviju varijanti, istraživači su zaključili da će omikron i njegove podvarijante vjerojatno uskoro nestati, ali delta je pokazala tako jaku otpornost da bi se mogla ponovno pojaviti.

Postoji stvarna opasnost od još jednog globalnog vala Covida ovog ljeta, jer bi se mogla vratiti varijanta delta, sugerira novo izraelsko istraživanje, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Recenzirana studija temelji se na najsuvremenijoj izraelskoj analizi otpadne vode u kanalizaciji, što otkriva ne samo prevalenciju slučajeva koronavirusa, već i o kojoj se varijanti radi.

Pokazalo se da čak i na vrhuncu vala omikron, prethodna varijanta delta nije nestala, iako se očekivalo da će pratiti dinamiku prethodnih valova.

Nakon praćenja uzoraka tih dviju varijanti, istraživači su zaključili da će omikron i njegove podvarijante vjerojatno uskoro nestati, ali delta je pokazala tako jaku otpornost da bi se mogla ponovno pojaviti.

- Naši nalazi pokazuju da pandemija nije gotova i sugeriraju da će prije ili kasnije doći do novog vala, možda na ljeto ili na kraju ljeta - kaže profesor Ariel Kushmaro, koji vodi laboratorij za otpadne vode na Sveučilištu Ben-Gurion u Negevu i koji je proveo istraživanje.

Rekao je da se značaj ovoga proteže daleko izvan Izraela, te je ukazao da na međunarodnom planu delta još uvijek predstavlja veću prijetnju nego što se misli. Delta bi se mogla ponovno pojaviti u svom postojećem obliku ili bi se mogla proširiti u obliku nove podvarijante, predviđa Kushmaro.

Neki stručnjaci za covid kažu da ova studija opravdava upozorenja koje su tjednima objavljivali.

'Pandemija nije gotova, a ovo veliko istraživanje daje jasne nalaze koji to naglašavaju i pomažu nam razumjeti situaciju', rekao je imunolog doktor Yariv Wine sa Sveučilišta u Tel Avivu koji nije bio uključen u istraživanje Ben-Guriona.

Kushmaro je rekao da je deltina otpornost iznenadila njegov tim. 'U prošlosti smo vidjeli da kada se jedna varijanta proširi, druge nestanu, ali čini se da se to jednostavno nije dogodilo s deltom, koja ima određenu sposobnost preživljavanja'.

Postoji stvarna opasnost od još jednog globalnog vala Covida ovog ljeta, jer bi se mogla vratiti varijanta delta, sugerira novo izraelsko istraživanje, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Recenzirana studija temelji se na najsuvremenijoj izraelskoj analizi otpadne vode u kanalizaciji, što otkriva ne samo prevalenciju slučajeva koronavirusa, već i o kojoj se varijanti radi.

Pokazalo se da čak i na vrhuncu vala omikron, prethodna varijanta delta nije nestala, iako se očekivalo da će pratiti dinamiku prethodnih valova.

Nakon praćenja uzoraka tih dviju varijanti, istraživači su zaključili da će omikron i njegove podvarijante vjerojatno uskoro nestati, ali delta je pokazala tako jaku otpornost da bi se mogla ponovno pojaviti.

- Naši nalazi pokazuju da pandemija nije gotova i sugeriraju da će prije ili kasnije doći do novog vala, možda na ljeto ili na kraju ljeta - kaže profesor Ariel Kushmaro, koji vodi laboratorij za otpadne vode na Sveučilištu Ben-Gurion u Negevu i koji je proveo istraživanje.

Rekao je da se značaj ovoga proteže daleko izvan Izraela, te je ukazao da na međunarodnom planu delta još uvijek predstavlja veću prijetnju nego što se misli. Delta bi se mogla ponovno pojaviti u svom postojećem obliku ili bi se mogla proširiti u obliku nove podvarijante, predviđa Kushmaro.
