Casting dive francuske i europske kinematografije Juliette Binoche u američkom filmu "Autocesta spasa" ("Paradise Highway") spada među najneobičnije u posljednje vrijeme.

Binoche znamo po Oscarom nagrađenoj ulozi u "Engleskom pacijentu", ali i sjajnim nastupima u trilogiji "Tri boje", "Čokoladi", "Provjerenoj kopiji", "Oblacima nad Sils Marijom", "Dvostrukim životima", "Ona koju zamišljaš", "Kako biti dobra supruga" i "Obje strane oštrice".

Znala je Binoche glumiti i u blockbusterima poput "Godzille" i "Duha u oklopu", ali nikad je nismo vidjeli u filmu koji je nadomak novomilenijske direktno-na-video estetike.

Posebno je nesvakidašnje vidjeti Binoche kao filmsku sestru tvrdog akcijaša Franka Grilla, jednog od prvaka takvog tipa "B" filmova, bilo loših ("Jiu Jitsu") ili neloših ("Into The Ashes", "Ida Red"), s povremenim izletima u višu produkcijsku ligu ("Boss Level", "Copshop", "Black and Blue", "Purge: Anarchy"), čak i blockbustere (serijal "Kapetan Amerika"). Oskarovac Morgan Freeman puno prirodnije pristaje Binoche u kadru, premda ni njemu direktno-na-video produkcija nije strana ("Najduža noć"). Na koncu konca, nije samo "Autocesta spasa" netipičan film za Binoche, nego i njezina uloga.

Ona glumi Sally, vozačicu kamiona koja za zatvorenog brata Dennisa nevoljko krijumčari ilegalne terete po američkom jugu ne bi li ga zaštitila od zatvorske bande prije nego izađe iz zatvora, premda Grillo ne djeluje kao da treba zaštitu od nekoga, već drugi od njega.

Sallyn posljednji teret je 12-godišnja Leila (Hala Finley). "Ne uzimam ljude", rezolutna je Sally, ali krijumčari Claire i Terrence (Christiane Seidel, Walker Babington) inzistiraju na tome. Zaplet kreće kad Leila napuca čovjeka koji ju je trebao oteti za trgovce bijelim robljem.

Nakon toga Sally se sa njom daje u bijeg i istovremeno pokušava spasiti i brata od bande i nju od "sex traffickinga", dok su im za petama "loši ljudi koji žele ozlijediti djevojku" i agenti FBI-a, stari Gerick (Freeman) i mladi Sterling (Cameron Monaghan). "Paradise Highway" je imao potencijala postati nekakav spoj "Thelme & Louise", "Glorije", "Transportera" i "Sloma", biti akcijsko-trilerski i dramski uzbudljiv "road movie" te usput reći nešto o Americi i Amerikancima, no toga ima samo u tragovima.

Redateljica debitantica Anna Gutto, ujedno i scenaristica, tek na mahove uspijeva oslikati trodimenzionalne likove i inicirati napete situacije, tj. njegovati tenzičnu atmosferu i pokazati dobro oko za krajobraze uz cestu, ali nažalost ne toliko da bi tonalno neujednačeni film postao i trilerska "americana". Možda se samo u jednoj sceni sugerira što je Gutto željela reći, konkretno kad se Gerick i Sally nađu oči u oči.

"Odakle si?", Gerrick pita Sally. "Nigdje i svugdje", odgovara Sally. "To je Amerika za tebe", veli Gerrick. Samo dio te Amerike za Sally vidimo u filmu kojeg diže susret dvoje oskarovaca. Freeman u toj sceni nije na autopilotu kao u ostatku filma, neuspješno evocirajući bolju ulogu mudrog istražitelja iz "Sedmice", ali Binoche je prilično nadahnuta. Glumica je ostala na razini i u filmu debelo ispod njezine razine.

Binche snima još dva filma

Radišna Binoche već planira dva nova francuska filma. Prvi je drama "Le lycéen" u režiji Christophea Honorea, a drugi romansa "The Pot of Feu" redatelja Anha Hunga Trana.

Casting dive francuske i europske kinematografije Juliette Binoche u američkom filmu "Autocesta spasa" ("Paradise Highway") spada među najneobičnije u posljednje vrijeme.

Binoche znamo po Oscarom nagrađenoj ulozi u "Engleskom pacijentu", ali i sjajnim nastupima u trilogiji "Tri boje", "Čokoladi", "Provjerenoj kopiji", "Oblacima nad Sils Marijom", "Dvostrukim životima", "Ona koju zamišljaš", "Kako biti dobra supruga" i "Obje strane oštrice".

Znala je Binoche glumiti i u blockbusterima poput "Godzille" i "Duha u oklopu", ali nikad je nismo vidjeli u filmu koji je nadomak novomilenijske direktno-na-video estetike.

Posebno je nesvakidašnje vidjeti Binoche kao filmsku sestru tvrdog akcijaša Franka Grilla, jednog od prvaka takvog tipa "B" filmova, bilo loših ("Jiu Jitsu") ili neloših ("Into The Ashes", "Ida Red"), s povremenim izletima u višu produkcijsku ligu ("Boss Level", "Copshop", "Black and Blue", "Purge: Anarchy"), čak i blockbustere (serijal "Kapetan Amerika"). Oskarovac Morgan Freeman puno prirodnije pristaje Binoche u kadru, premda ni njemu direktno-na-video produkcija nije strana ("Najduža noć"). Na koncu konca, nije samo "Autocesta spasa" netipičan film za Binoche, nego i njezina uloga.

Ona glumi Sally, vozačicu kamiona koja za zatvorenog brata Dennisa nevoljko krijumčari ilegalne terete po američkom jugu ne bi li ga zaštitila od zatvorske bande prije nego izađe iz zatvora, premda Grillo ne djeluje kao da treba zaštitu od nekoga, već drugi od njega.

Sallyn posljednji teret je 12-godišnja Leila (Hala Finley). "Ne uzimam ljude", rezolutna je Sally, ali krijumčari Claire i Terrence (Christiane Seidel, Walker Babington) inzistiraju na tome. Zaplet kreće kad Leila napuca čovjeka koji ju je trebao oteti za trgovce bijelim robljem.

Nakon toga Sally se sa njom daje u bijeg i istovremeno pokušava spasiti i brata od bande i nju od "sex traffickinga", dok su im za petama "loši ljudi koji žele ozlijediti djevojku" i agenti FBI-a, stari Gerick (Freeman) i mladi Sterling (Cameron Monaghan). "Paradise Highway" je imao potencijala postati nekakav spoj "Thelme & Louise", "Glorije", "Transportera" i "Sloma", biti akcijsko-trilerski i dramski uzbudljiv "road movie" te usput reći nešto o Americi i Amerikancima, no toga ima samo u tragovima.

Redateljica debitantica Anna Gutto, ujedno i scenaristica, tek na mahove uspijeva oslikati trodimenzionalne likove i inicirati napete situacije, tj. njegovati tenzičnu atmosferu i pokazati dobro oko za krajobraze uz cestu, ali nažalost ne toliko da bi tonalno neujednačeni film postao i trilerska "americana". Možda se samo u jednoj sceni sugerira što je Gutto željela reći, konkretno kad se Gerick i Sally nađu oči u oči.

"Odakle si?", Gerrick pita Sally. "Nigdje i svugdje", odgovara Sally. "To je Amerika za tebe", veli Gerrick. Samo dio te Amerike za Sally vidimo u filmu kojeg diže susret dvoje oskarovaca. Freeman u toj sceni nije na autopilotu kao u ostatku filma, neuspješno evocirajući bolju ulogu mudrog istražitelja iz "Sedmice", ali Binoche je prilično nadahnuta. Glumica je ostala na razini i u filmu debelo ispod njezine razine.

Radišna Binoche već planira dva nova francuska filma. Prvi je drama "Le lycéen" u režiji Christophea Honorea, a drugi romansa "The Pot of Feu" redatelja Anha Hunga Trana.
