Iron Maideni dolaze u Split do kraja travnja, a s tom vijesti se poklopila friška premijera dražesnog Netflixovog filma "Bogovi metala" ("Metal Lords") koji se kune u teškometalnu muziku. Maiden je dakako spomenut u filmu i otisnut na njegovom soundtracku ("The Trooper") kao jedan u nizu metal bendova.
Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax... i Guns 'N' Roses, iako su više hard rock. Čudno da nije spomenut Mötley Crüe, čiji smo film "The Dirt " gledali baš na Netflixu, no dobro. Uglavnom, svi su oni dobili posvetu u obliku pjesme ili plakata na zidu u sobi jednog od dvojice glavnih likova filma, tinejdžera Huntera (solidni debitant Adrian Greensmith ), metalca u duši.

Kad Hunter i njegov najbolji prijatelj Kevin (Jaeden Martell ; "Vincent ", "Ponoćni specijal ", "Ono ", "Defending Jacob ") odluče formirati metal grupu Skull Fucker i prijaviti se na borbu bendova, lista pjesama koju potonji treba naučiti svirati na bubnjevima uključuje "War Pigs" Black Sabbatha, "Ace of Spades" Motorheada, "Aces High" Iron Maidena, "For Whom The Bell Tolls" Metallice, "Mr. Brownstone" Gunsa...
"Metalom ćemo pokoriti ovu školu", "heavy metal je zakon", enuzijastični su momci. Kevin je dotad svirao bubanj u limenoj glazbi, što će reći da ga u školi gledaju kao luzera, a ništa bolje ne prolazi ni Hunter, česta meta "bullyja" kojima može zahvaliti na Jason Newstead frizuri (bivši basist Metallice).
U jednoj sceni Hunter i Kevin se nalaze u bijegu i imaju zgodan dijalog: "Ako usporiš, umireš, to je metal. To je film s Keanuom Reevesom " ("Brzina "). Oni su tipični likovi teen-filma i ovo je, realno, standardan primjerak žanra, uz dodatak heavy metala koji će s dvojcem zasvirati i temperamentna čelistica Emily (Isis Hainsworth ; otkriće, izgleda kao mlađa sestra Hailee Steinfeld , a tako i glumi).

Emily je autsajderica poput njih i zaljubljuje se u Kevina, on u nju također. "Zašto se ne bi ne uklapali zajedno", kaže Kevin. Romansa će biti ozvučena sa "Since I Don't Have You" Gunsa i zamalo razdvojiti prijatelje, ali znamo da se to neće dogoditi kad Hunter shvati da je "nasilna i nepredvidljiva" Emily "rođena za metal", a gledatelj je dotad već spreman navijati za simpatične društvene izopćenike na klimaktičkoj borbi bendova.
Nastup metalske trojke s pjesmom "Machinery of Torment", snimljenom posebno za film, veoma je živahan i tad nije bitno hoće li oni pobijediti ili ne jer za nas i za sebe su već pobjednici. Entuzijastični mladi metalci prenijeli su entuzijazam na svakog gledatelja koji voli žestoki zvuk ili ga je volio u mladosti.
Generacije osamdesetih gledat će ovaj film s nostalgijom, možda i ljubomorom što sami nisu imali neku sličnu tinejdžersku metal komediju stvorenu za bijeg od realnosti osnovne/srednje škole ("Detroit Rock City" je stigao prekasno krajem devedesetih).
"Bogovi metala" su ljubavno pismo metalu koji danas više nije toliko komercijalan i "mainstream" u eri kad top-listama drmaju The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran ... Zato je film na određeni način i primjereno metalski subverzivan. Metal je i "borba protiv režima".

Iron Maideni dolaze u Split do kraja travnja, a s tom vijesti se poklopila friška premijera dražesnog Netflixovog filma "Bogovi metala" ("Metal Lords") koji se kune u teškometalnu muziku. Maiden je dakako spomenut u filmu i otisnut na njegovom soundtracku ("The Trooper") kao jedan u nizu metal bendova.
Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax... i Guns 'N' Roses, iako su više hard rock. Čudno da nije spomenut Mötley Crüe, čiji smo film "The Dirt " gledali baš na Netflixu, no dobro. Uglavnom, svi su oni dobili posvetu u obliku pjesme ili plakata na zidu u sobi jednog od dvojice glavnih likova filma, tinejdžera Huntera (solidni debitant Adrian Greensmith ), metalca u duši.

Kad Hunter i njegov najbolji prijatelj Kevin (Jaeden Martell ; "Vincent ", "Ponoćni specijal ", "Ono ", "Defending Jacob ") odluče formirati metal grupu Skull Fucker i prijaviti se na borbu bendova, lista pjesama koju potonji treba naučiti svirati na bubnjevima uključuje "War Pigs" Black Sabbatha, "Ace of Spades" Motorheada, "Aces High" Iron Maidena, "For Whom The Bell Tolls" Metallice, "Mr. Brownstone" Gunsa...
"Metalom ćemo pokoriti ovu školu", "heavy metal je zakon", enuzijastični su momci. Kevin je dotad svirao bubanj u limenoj glazbi, što će reći da ga u školi gledaju kao luzera, a ništa bolje ne prolazi ni Hunter, česta meta "bullyja" kojima može zahvaliti na Jason Newstead frizuri (bivši basist Metallice).
U jednoj sceni Hunter i Kevin se nalaze u bijegu i imaju zgodan dijalog: "Ako usporiš, umireš, to je metal. To je film s Keanuom Reevesom " ("Brzina "). Oni su tipični likovi teen-filma i ovo je, realno, standardan primjerak žanra, uz dodatak heavy metala koji će s dvojcem zasvirati i temperamentna čelistica Emily (Isis Hainsworth ; otkriće, izgleda kao mlađa sestra Hailee Steinfeld , a tako i glumi).

Emily je autsajderica poput njih i zaljubljuje se u Kevina, on u nju također. "Zašto se ne bi ne uklapali zajedno", kaže Kevin. Romansa će biti ozvučena sa "Since I Don't Have You" Gunsa i zamalo razdvojiti prijatelje, ali znamo da se to neće dogoditi kad Hunter shvati da je "nasilna i nepredvidljiva" Emily "rođena za metal", a gledatelj je dotad već spreman navijati za simpatične društvene izopćenike na klimaktičkoj borbi bendova.
Nastup metalske trojke s pjesmom "Machinery of Torment", snimljenom posebno za film, veoma je živahan i tad nije bitno hoće li oni pobijediti ili ne jer za nas i za sebe su već pobjednici. Entuzijastični mladi metalci prenijeli su entuzijazam na svakog gledatelja koji voli žestoki zvuk ili ga je volio u mladosti.
Generacije osamdesetih gledat će ovaj film s nostalgijom, možda i ljubomorom što sami nisu imali neku sličnu tinejdžersku metal komediju stvorenu za bijeg od realnosti osnovne/srednje škole ("Detroit Rock City" je stigao prekasno krajem devedesetih).
"Bogovi metala" su ljubavno pismo metalu koji danas više nije toliko komercijalan i "mainstream" u eri kad top-listama drmaju The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran ... Zato je film na određeni način i primjereno metalski subverzivan. Metal je i "borba protiv režima".
