"Potrebno je selo da se odgoji dijete", citira se izreka na početku filma "Buntovnica" ("Scrapper"), nagrađenog na Sundance festivalu. Titularna buntovnica u roku od sekunde demantira tu izjavu. "Mogu se odgojiti sama, hvala", sarkastično nadoda ona, 12-godišnja Georgie (odlična debitantica Lola Campbell). Britanska redateljica i scenaristica Charlotte Regan već time signalizira kako "Buntovnica" neće biti standardna (melo)drama o odrastanju jedne klinke.

Georgie je ionako preosebujna djevojčica da bi film o njoj bio "standardan". Ona živi sama nakon mamine nedavne smrti ("Rekla je da ide u nebo") i tuguje na svoj način kroz vlastite "faze tugovanja" (poricanje, ljutnja...). Ne ide u školu, a zarađuje za život kradući bicikle s prijateljem Alijem (Alin Uzun), vješto kao što će ukrasti i gledateljevo srce.

Istovremeno, Georgie izbjegava socijalnu službu itd. tako što je zamolila radnika u lokalnom marketu da izgovori određene fraze kako bi ih, snimljene, mogla pustiti tijekom telefonskih razgovora kao da ih izgovara njezin ujak po imenu Winston Churchill.

No, jednog dana, niotkuda, Georgiein otac Jason (Harris Dickinson) bane na vrata kad je čuo za smrt njezine majke. Ali je svjestan kako Georgie ne može živjeti sama i uvjerava je da bi bilo dobro da Jason ostane, unatoč njezinu nepovjerenju u čovjeka koji ju je napustio prije 12 godina. Jason je, čini se, odlučan nadoknaditi propušteno i brinuti se o kćerki.

Međutim, nameće se pitanje je li on sposoban za roditeljstvo budući da izgleda kao da ni sam nije odrastao, tj. da je, onako izblajhane kose, zapeo u vremenu otprilike kad je Eminem glumio u "8 milja" Curtisa Hansona. "Bili smo mladi, bio je kaos", Jason priznaje kćerki pričajući o sebi i njezinoj majci prije 12 godina. Odnos oca i kćeri pokreće film koji je producirao glumac Michael Fassbender, a profilira se kao amalgam "Projekta Florida", "Razbijačice sustava" i "Poslije sunca".

Mogao je film biti i teška socijalna "kitchen-sink" drama tragičnih tonova u stilu Kena Loacha, ali redateljica Regan odbija se do kraja povinuti loachovskom tmurnom dramskom sociorealizmu, iako ne skriva njegov utjecaj. Pače, Regan na mahove dovodi film do granice magičnog realizma i preferira otkačenu komičnu vizualnu zaigranost Wesa Andersona u "Kraljevstvu izlazećeg mjeseca" i Richarda Ayoadea u "Podmornici" sukladno dječjoj dobi protagonistice.

Tako, u humorističkim interludijima Georgie komentiraju njezini vršnjaci i učitelj, i to gledajući u kameru, kao da su intervjuirani za nekakav dokumentarac o njoj, a unutarnji glas dobivaju i pauci. Jako zaigrano i štosno, no takvi trenuci povremeno djeluju odveć intruzivno i remete interakciju likova oca i kćeri, oduzimajući (pot)punu melodramsku snagu filmu koji suptilno govori o tugovanju i sazrijevanju jednog djeteta (Georgie) i odrasle osobe (Jason).

"Scrapper" zato nije savršen kao "The Florida Project" ili "Aftersun". Pa ipak, odnos između oca i kćeri nivelira stvari i razvija se organski u scenama kakve "Buntovnici" daju srce i čine je autentičnom. Glumci su zaslužni za to uz redateljičino spretno vođenje, a stječe se dojam i da su "kliknuli", odnosno da su uloge ekstenzija njihove dinamike na setu.

Dickinson se zadnjih godina nameće kao talent u naletu nakon "Štakora s plaže" ("Matthias i Maxine", "Suvenir 2. dio", "Kings‘Man: Početak", "Djevojka iz močvare", "Trokut tuge", "See How They Run"), spreman za raznolike glavne i karakterne uloge. No, prava zvijezda filma je Campbell i upravo je nevjerojatno da joj je ovo prvi nastup pred kamerama, premda je upravo zato tako stvarna, prirodna i životna. Campbell je u svakoj sceni. Ovo je njezin film. Ona je "Buntovnica".

Hrvatska premijera na Motovunu

Film je imao hrvatsku premijeru na Motovunskom festivalu, a kupljen je i za kinodistribuciju, premda zasad još nema fiksan datum.

"Potrebno je selo da se odgoji dijete", citira se izreka na početku filma "Buntovnica" ("Scrapper"), nagrađenog na Sundance festivalu. Titularna buntovnica u roku od sekunde demantira tu izjavu. "Mogu se odgojiti sama, hvala", sarkastično nadoda ona, 12-godišnja Georgie (odlična debitantica Lola Campbell). Britanska redateljica i scenaristica Charlotte Regan već time signalizira kako "Buntovnica" neće biti standardna (melo)drama o odrastanju jedne klinke.

Georgie je ionako preosebujna djevojčica da bi film o njoj bio "standardan". Ona živi sama nakon mamine nedavne smrti ("Rekla je da ide u nebo") i tuguje na svoj način kroz vlastite "faze tugovanja" (poricanje, ljutnja...). Ne ide u školu, a zarađuje za život kradući bicikle s prijateljem Alijem (Alin Uzun), vješto kao što će ukrasti i gledateljevo srce.

Istovremeno, Georgie izbjegava socijalnu službu itd. tako što je zamolila radnika u lokalnom marketu da izgovori određene fraze kako bi ih, snimljene, mogla pustiti tijekom telefonskih razgovora kao da ih izgovara njezin ujak po imenu Winston Churchill.

No, jednog dana, niotkuda, Georgiein otac Jason (Harris Dickinson) bane na vrata kad je čuo za smrt njezine majke. Ali je svjestan kako Georgie ne može živjeti sama i uvjerava je da bi bilo dobro da Jason ostane, unatoč njezinu nepovjerenju u čovjeka koji ju je napustio prije 12 godina. Jason je, čini se, odlučan nadoknaditi propušteno i brinuti se o kćerki.

Međutim, nameće se pitanje je li on sposoban za roditeljstvo budući da izgleda kao da ni sam nije odrastao, tj. da je, onako izblajhane kose, zapeo u vremenu otprilike kad je Eminem glumio u "8 milja" Curtisa Hansona. "Bili smo mladi, bio je kaos", Jason priznaje kćerki pričajući o sebi i njezinoj majci prije 12 godina. Odnos oca i kćeri pokreće film koji je producirao glumac Michael Fassbender, a profilira se kao amalgam "Projekta Florida", "Razbijačice sustava" i "Poslije sunca".

Mogao je film biti i teška socijalna "kitchen-sink" drama tragičnih tonova u stilu Kena Loacha, ali redateljica Regan odbija se do kraja povinuti loachovskom tmurnom dramskom sociorealizmu, iako ne skriva njegov utjecaj. Pače, Regan na mahove dovodi film do granice magičnog realizma i preferira otkačenu komičnu vizualnu zaigranost Wesa Andersona u "Kraljevstvu izlazećeg mjeseca" i Richarda Ayoadea u "Podmornici" sukladno dječjoj dobi protagonistice.

Tako, u humorističkim interludijima Georgie komentiraju njezini vršnjaci i učitelj, i to gledajući u kameru, kao da su intervjuirani za nekakav dokumentarac o njoj, a unutarnji glas dobivaju i pauci. Jako zaigrano i štosno, no takvi trenuci povremeno djeluju odveć intruzivno i remete interakciju likova oca i kćeri, oduzimajući (pot)punu melodramsku snagu filmu koji suptilno govori o tugovanju i sazrijevanju jednog djeteta (Georgie) i odrasle osobe (Jason).

"Scrapper" zato nije savršen kao "The Florida Project" ili "Aftersun". Pa ipak, odnos između oca i kćeri nivelira stvari i razvija se organski u scenama kakve "Buntovnici" daju srce i čine je autentičnom. Glumci su zaslužni za to uz redateljičino spretno vođenje, a stječe se dojam i da su "kliknuli", odnosno da su uloge ekstenzija njihove dinamike na setu.

Dickinson se zadnjih godina nameće kao talent u naletu nakon "Štakora s plaže" ("Matthias i Maxine", "Suvenir 2. dio", "Kings‘Man: Početak", "Djevojka iz močvare", "Trokut tuge", "See How They Run"), spreman za raznolike glavne i karakterne uloge. No, prava zvijezda filma je Campbell i upravo je nevjerojatno da joj je ovo prvi nastup pred kamerama, premda je upravo zato tako stvarna, prirodna i životna. Campbell je u svakoj sceni. Ovo je njezin film. Ona je "Buntovnica".
