Oldtimer noira se vratio na velike ekrane – nezaboravni detektiv Marlowe. Ikonička kreacija čuvenog pisca krimića Raymonda Chandlera u više navrata je dobila svoju filmsku inkarnaciju. Marlowea su, među inima, glumili Humphrey Bogart (“Duboki san”), Dick Powell (“Murder, My Sweet”), James Garner (“Marlowe”), Elliot Gould (“The Long Goodbye”), Robert Mitchum (“Zbogom, ljepotice”)...

No, legendarni usamljeni detektiv iz Los Angelesa posljednjih je godina usnuo duboki san i prespavao koju dekadu. Iz sna ga je probudio redatelj Neil Jordan i u glavnoj ulozi zaposlio Liama Neesona s kojim je već surađivao, najizrazitije krajem devedesetih kad su snimili “Michaela Collinsa”.

Film “Detektiv Marlowe” (“Marlowe”), ekranizacija friškijeg romana “The Black-Eyed Blonde” iz pera Johna Banvillea, ne Chandlera, pokušava nastaviti tradiciju slavnih prethodnika, premda je angažirao novovjekog starog akcijskog junaka za titularnog lika. Neeson je sa svojih 70 godina najstariji tumač Marlowea, stariji i od Mitchuma i Jamesa Caana (“Poodle Springs” iz 1998.), što će lik u jednom trenutku i naglasiti. “Postajem prestar za ovo”, kaže Marlowe.

Također, Neeson u ulogu donosi akcijsku prtljagu junaka serijala “96 sati” i tuceta “takenovskih” akcića unatrag desetak godina (“Ukradeni identitet”, “Non Stop”, “Noćna potjera”, “Putnik”, “Pokajnik”, “Zaštitnik”, “Ledena cesta”, “U sjeni zavjere”, “Sjećanja ubojice”), što može zasmetati fanovima detektiva koji je i dalje “vrlo perceptivan i senzitivan”.

Neesonov Marlowe nije akcijska inkarnacija lika, ali njegov detektiv se u nekoliko navrata upušta u žešće tučnjave i pucnjave u odnosu na prijašnje tumače, valjda čisto da se zna tko ga sada glumi. Međutim, “Detektiv Marlowe” je više krimi-triler poput “Šetnje među grobovima” nego “96 sati: Istanbul” kad je Neeson u pitanju.

I Jordan posebno nagnuće pokazuje prema koloriranom (neo)noiru, od “L.A. povjerljivo” Curtisa Hansona pa natrag do “Kineske četvrti” Romana Polanskog kao redateljevog glavnog uzora. Da je “Chinatown” ogledan primjerak noira za Jordana potvrđuje angažman Dannyja Hustona, sina Johna Hustona koji je glumio negativca kod Polanskog, te Diane Kruger kao fatalnu ženu naizgled modeliranu prema Faye Dunaway.

A opet “Marlowe” kroz priču metafilmski provlači grešni Hollywood kao “L.A. Confidential” sa snimanjima filmova, fikcionalnim filmskim studijima, starletama i bivšim zvijezdama (Jessica Lange kanalizira Gloriju Swanson). Zaplet počinje kad Marlowea kontaktira misteriozna udana žena Clare Cavendish (Kruger) kako bi pronašao njezinog nestalog ljubavnika Nica Petersena (François Arnaud).

Iz zapleta se račvaju podzapleti s tvrdokuhanim dijalogom (“Svi su u ovoj zemlji pijani od njezina začeća”), pokvarenim političarima i “sadržajem kovčega koji može uništiti cijeli filmski studio” da film bude post-weinsteinovski aktualan.

Klišeji se gomilaju, ali Jordan ih nastoji “hendlati” s respektom, a ne žanrovski autoparodijskim odmakom kao netko tko je koketirao s (neo)noirom u “Plačljivoj igri”, “Mona Lisi” i “Dobrom lopovu” pa da Chinatown postane Toontown (“Tko je smjetio Zeki Rogeru”). Dosta pažnje Jordan poklanja vizualizaciji koja na stilizirani način spaja staromodne i moderne senzibilitete. “Ključ Hollywooda je znati kad ti je vrijeme isteklo”, čujemo u filmu. Vrijeme Marlowu još nije posve isteklo.

Oldtimer noira se vratio na velike ekrane – nezaboravni detektiv Marlowe. Ikonička kreacija čuvenog pisca krimića Raymonda Chandlera u više navrata je dobila svoju filmsku inkarnaciju. Marlowea su, među inima, glumili Humphrey Bogart (“Duboki san”), Dick Powell (“Murder, My Sweet”), James Garner (“Marlowe”), Elliot Gould (“The Long Goodbye”), Robert Mitchum (“Zbogom, ljepotice”)...

No, legendarni usamljeni detektiv iz Los Angelesa posljednjih je godina usnuo duboki san i prespavao koju dekadu. Iz sna ga je probudio redatelj Neil Jordan i u glavnoj ulozi zaposlio Liama Neesona s kojim je već surađivao, najizrazitije krajem devedesetih kad su snimili “Michaela Collinsa”.

Film “Detektiv Marlowe” (“Marlowe”), ekranizacija friškijeg romana “The Black-Eyed Blonde” iz pera Johna Banvillea, ne Chandlera, pokušava nastaviti tradiciju slavnih prethodnika, premda je angažirao novovjekog starog akcijskog junaka za titularnog lika. Neeson je sa svojih 70 godina najstariji tumač Marlowea, stariji i od Mitchuma i Jamesa Caana (“Poodle Springs” iz 1998.), što će lik u jednom trenutku i naglasiti. “Postajem prestar za ovo”, kaže Marlowe.

Također, Neeson u ulogu donosi akcijsku prtljagu junaka serijala “96 sati” i tuceta “takenovskih” akcića unatrag desetak godina (“Ukradeni identitet”, “Non Stop”, “Noćna potjera”, “Putnik”, “Pokajnik”, “Zaštitnik”, “Ledena cesta”, “U sjeni zavjere”, “Sjećanja ubojice”), što može zasmetati fanovima detektiva koji je i dalje “vrlo perceptivan i senzitivan”.

Neesonov Marlowe nije akcijska inkarnacija lika, ali njegov detektiv se u nekoliko navrata upušta u žešće tučnjave i pucnjave u odnosu na prijašnje tumače, valjda čisto da se zna tko ga sada glumi. Međutim, “Detektiv Marlowe” je više krimi-triler poput “Šetnje među grobovima” nego “96 sati: Istanbul” kad je Neeson u pitanju.

I Jordan posebno nagnuće pokazuje prema koloriranom (neo)noiru, od “L.A. povjerljivo” Curtisa Hansona pa natrag do “Kineske četvrti” Romana Polanskog kao redateljevog glavnog uzora. Da je “Chinatown” ogledan primjerak noira za Jordana potvrđuje angažman Dannyja Hustona, sina Johna Hustona koji je glumio negativca kod Polanskog, te Diane Kruger kao fatalnu ženu naizgled modeliranu prema Faye Dunaway.

A opet “Marlowe” kroz priču metafilmski provlači grešni Hollywood kao “L.A. Confidential” sa snimanjima filmova, fikcionalnim filmskim studijima, starletama i bivšim zvijezdama (Jessica Lange kanalizira Gloriju Swanson). Zaplet počinje kad Marlowea kontaktira misteriozna udana žena Clare Cavendish (Kruger) kako bi pronašao njezinog nestalog ljubavnika Nica Petersena (François Arnaud).

Iz zapleta se račvaju podzapleti s tvrdokuhanim dijalogom (“Svi su u ovoj zemlji pijani od njezina začeća”), pokvarenim političarima i “sadržajem kovčega koji može uništiti cijeli filmski studio” da film bude post-weinsteinovski aktualan.

Klišeji se gomilaju, ali Jordan ih nastoji “hendlati” s respektom, a ne žanrovski autoparodijskim odmakom kao netko tko je koketirao s (neo)noirom u “Plačljivoj igri”, “Mona Lisi” i “Dobrom lopovu” pa da Chinatown postane Toontown (“Tko je smjetio Zeki Rogeru”). Dosta pažnje Jordan poklanja vizualizaciji koja na stilizirani način spaja staromodne i moderne senzibilitete. “Ključ Hollywooda je znati kad ti je vrijeme isteklo”, čujemo u filmu. Vrijeme Marlowu još nije posve isteklo.

Oldtimer noira se vratio na velike ekrane – nezaboravni detektiv Marlowe. Ikonička kreacija čuvenog pisca krimića Raymonda Chandlera u više navrata je dobila svoju filmsku inkarnaciju. Marlowea su, među inima, glumili Humphrey Bogart (“Duboki san”), Dick Powell (“Murder, My Sweet”), James Garner (“Marlowe”), Elliot Gould (“The Long Goodbye”), Robert Mitchum (“Zbogom, ljepotice”)...

No, legendarni usamljeni detektiv iz Los Angelesa posljednjih je godina usnuo duboki san i prespavao koju dekadu. Iz sna ga je probudio redatelj Neil Jordan i u glavnoj ulozi zaposlio Liama Neesona s kojim je već surađivao, najizrazitije krajem devedesetih kad su snimili “Michaela Collinsa”.
