Premisa Netflixove akcijsko-komične serije “Mrtvi pijani”/”Obliterated” prilično je urnebesna i totalno obećavajuća. Zamislite da akcijski junak poput Johna McClanea, Jamesa Bonda, Ethana Hunta ili Jacka Bauera spasi Las Vegas deaktivacijom nuklearne bombe i odluči se nagraditi ludim provodom u “gradu grijeha”, da bi na vrhuncu pijanstva doznao kako je nuklearka bila falša i mora spašavati grad u takvom stanju. Idi kući, Jack Bauer, mrtav pijan si? Tako nekako.

Referencije na Ramba

Umjesto Bauera i ostalih akcijaša imamo pripadnike američke elitne taktičke jedinice. Ekipu predvodni Ava (raspoložena Shelley Hennig), a tu su i mišićavci Chad (Nick Zano) i Trunk (Terrence Terrell), hakerica Maya (Kimi Rutledge; otkriće), čudački stručnjak za bombe Hagerty (C. Thomas Howell), snajperica Angela (Paola Lázaro) i pilot Paul (Eugene Kim).

Dakle, njima će se dogoditi opisana situacija. Nakon naizgled uspješno obavljena zadatka “pronaći i deaktivirati nuklearnu bombu”, specijalci se požele ludo provesti u Las Vegasu. “glavnom gradu zabave na svijetu”, ali ispostavlja se da je bomba koju su deaktivirali lažna i moraju je pronaći i neutralizirati pijani, pardon “mrtvi pijani”, tj. prisiljeni su se brzinski otrijezniti da spase stvar.

Za premisu je zaslužan trio Jon Hurwitz-Hayden Schlossberg-Josh Heald (Netflixova hit-serija “Cobra Kai”) koji je spojio akcijski film osamdesetih ili devedesetih s komedijom tipa “Mamurluk”. Autori su već u dosadašnjim sezonama serije “Cobra Kai” pokazali da se lože na akciju osamdesetih: nastavili su tamo gdje je stao “Karate Kid” i referirali se na “Rockyja”, “Krvavi sport” itd. Vratili su i nekadašnje zvijezde osamdesetih natrag pod reflektore.

Nešto slično sada rade i u seriji “Mrtvi pijani”. Serija “Obliterated” puna je referencija na akcijske filmove. Na početku četvrte epizode Chad s majkom Marge (Virginia Madsen, “Candyman”) gleda “Ramba III”. “Isuse, pogledaj te vene, Sly je tako isklesan. Poštujem Arnieja, ali prenabildan je, to je teško održivo”, usklikne Chad koji će doživjeti svoju “Rambo” montažu naoružavanja.

“Sviđa mi se kad akcijski junak ima muda pokazati dupe pred kamerama. Sly se nije bojao pokazati guzu u ‘Rambu II’. Arnold isto. Van Damme? To je kao pravilo”, kaže Marge koja je u tom kontekstu među akcijašima mogla navesti i Mela Gibsona (“Smrtonosno oružje 2”).

Istinski američki junaci

Dotaknu se njih dvoje i Stevena Seagala, doduše u negativnom kontekstu (“pozer s kruškastim nosom nema dobro dupe”). Nedostaje Bruce Willis (“Posljednji preživjeli”), ali autori valjda računaju da su akcijsku legendu pokrili vojevanjem s negativcima u mamurnom stanju (“Prljavi igraju prljavo”, “Umri muški 3”) i time da se Chad junači u potkošulji.

Spomenut je i Bond. “Tip pogleda jednog ‘Bonda’ i misli da je idući Max Zorin”, čujemo refrenciju na negativca iz “Pogleda na ubojstvo”. Zgodno, nema što, kao i pojava zvijezde osamdesetih Howella (“Crvena zora”, “Autostoper”) koji evidentno gušta što je opet u centru pažnje i njegovo pijanstvo služi kao referencija na komične scene “Vikenda s Bernijem”.

Međutim, balans između akcije i komedije nije ujednačen, razina akcijskog spektakla je pretežno nižih streamingovskih dometa, humor nerijetko prizeman (primjerice Ava piški u limenku tijekom leta helikopterom), a i prenabildana premisa je teško održiva za osam epizoda serije.

“Mrtvi pijani” s vremenom rastežu radnju i vrve “fillerima”, ne uspijevajući ispuniti potencijal na zadovoljavajući način da bi dosegli razinu najboljih sezona “Cobre Kaija” ili satiričnog “Tima Amerika”, na što Hurwitz, Schlossberg i Heald nesumnjivo tipuju s pričom o “istinskim američkim junacima” koji uzvikuju “SAD!” (samo bez onoga “fuck, yeah”) i ne prepoznavaju ironične stihove pjesme “Born In The USA” Brucea Springesteena.

“Obliterated” je u konačnici ispao u razini Netflixove serije “FUBAR” sa Schwarzeneggerom. Šira publika svejedno će ispiti na “eks” pitak koktel akcije i komedije, nasilja i golotinje. Žanrovski sladokusci mogli bi se pitati što bi od ovog materijala napravio jedan Shane Black (“Posljednji akcijski junak”, “Pakleni poljubac”).

Premisa Netflixove akcijsko-komične serije “Mrtvi pijani”/”Obliterated” prilično je urnebesna i totalno obećavajuća. Zamislite da akcijski junak poput Johna McClanea, Jamesa Bonda, Ethana Hunta ili Jacka Bauera spasi Las Vegas deaktivacijom nuklearne bombe i odluči se nagraditi ludim provodom u “gradu grijeha”, da bi na vrhuncu pijanstva doznao kako je nuklearka bila falša i mora spašavati grad u takvom stanju. Idi kući, Jack Bauer, mrtav pijan si? Tako nekako.

Referencije na Ramba

Umjesto Bauera i ostalih akcijaša imamo pripadnike američke elitne taktičke jedinice. Ekipu predvodni Ava (raspoložena Shelley Hennig), a tu su i mišićavci Chad (Nick Zano) i Trunk (Terrence Terrell), hakerica Maya (Kimi Rutledge; otkriće), čudački stručnjak za bombe Hagerty (C. Thomas Howell), snajperica Angela (Paola Lázaro) i pilot Paul (Eugene Kim).

Dakle, njima će se dogoditi opisana situacija. Nakon naizgled uspješno obavljena zadatka “pronaći i deaktivirati nuklearnu bombu”, specijalci se požele ludo provesti u Las Vegasu. “glavnom gradu zabave na svijetu”, ali ispostavlja se da je bomba koju su deaktivirali lažna i moraju je pronaći i neutralizirati pijani, pardon “mrtvi pijani”, tj. prisiljeni su se brzinski otrijezniti da spase stvar.

Za premisu je zaslužan trio Jon Hurwitz-Hayden Schlossberg-Josh Heald (Netflixova hit-serija “Cobra Kai”) koji je spojio akcijski film osamdesetih ili devedesetih s komedijom tipa “Mamurluk”. Autori su već u dosadašnjim sezonama serije “Cobra Kai” pokazali da se lože na akciju osamdesetih: nastavili su tamo gdje je stao “Karate Kid” i referirali se na “Rockyja”, “Krvavi sport” itd. Vratili su i nekadašnje zvijezde osamdesetih natrag pod reflektore.

Nešto slično sada rade i u seriji “Mrtvi pijani”. Serija “Obliterated” puna je referencija na akcijske filmove. Na početku četvrte epizode Chad s majkom Marge (Virginia Madsen, “Candyman”) gleda “Ramba III”. “Isuse, pogledaj te vene, Sly je tako isklesan. Poštujem Arnieja, ali prenabildan je, to je teško održivo”, usklikne Chad koji će doživjeti svoju “Rambo” montažu naoružavanja.

“Sviđa mi se kad akcijski junak ima muda pokazati dupe pred kamerama. Sly se nije bojao pokazati guzu u ‘Rambu II’. Arnold isto. Van Damme? To je kao pravilo”, kaže Marge koja je u tom kontekstu među akcijašima mogla navesti i Mela Gibsona (“Smrtonosno oružje 2”).

Istinski američki junaci

Dotaknu se njih dvoje i Stevena Seagala, doduše u negativnom kontekstu (“pozer s kruškastim nosom nema dobro dupe”). Nedostaje Bruce Willis (“Posljednji preživjeli”), ali autori valjda računaju da su akcijsku legendu pokrili vojevanjem s negativcima u mamurnom stanju (“Prljavi igraju prljavo”, “Umri muški 3”) i time da se Chad junači u potkošulji.

Spomenut je i Bond. “Tip pogleda jednog ‘Bonda’ i misli da je idući Max Zorin”, čujemo refrenciju na negativca iz “Pogleda na ubojstvo”. Zgodno, nema što, kao i pojava zvijezde osamdesetih Howella (“Crvena zora”, “Autostoper”) koji evidentno gušta što je opet u centru pažnje i njegovo pijanstvo služi kao referencija na komične scene “Vikenda s Bernijem”.

Međutim, balans između akcije i komedije nije ujednačen, razina akcijskog spektakla je pretežno nižih streamingovskih dometa, humor nerijetko prizeman (primjerice Ava piški u limenku tijekom leta helikopterom), a i prenabildana premisa je teško održiva za osam epizoda serije.

“Mrtvi pijani” s vremenom rastežu radnju i vrve “fillerima”, ne uspijevajući ispuniti potencijal na zadovoljavajući način da bi dosegli razinu najboljih sezona “Cobre Kaija” ili satiričnog “Tima Amerika”, na što Hurwitz, Schlossberg i Heald nesumnjivo tipuju s pričom o “istinskim američkim junacima” koji uzvikuju “SAD!” (samo bez onoga “fuck, yeah”) i ne prepoznavaju ironične stihove pjesme “Born In The USA” Brucea Springesteena.

“Obliterated” je u konačnici ispao u razini Netflixove serije “FUBAR” sa Schwarzeneggerom. Šira publika svejedno će ispiti na “eks” pitak koktel akcije i komedije, nasilja i golotinje. Žanrovski sladokusci mogli bi se pitati što bi od ovog materijala napravio jedan Shane Black (“Posljednji akcijski junak”, “Pakleni poljubac”).
