Ove godine će 67. Splitsko ljeto biti tradicionalno otvoreno operom na Peristilu 14. srpnja, a na programu je popularna, kraća veristička opera Pietra Mascagnija "Cavalleria rusticana".
Operom će ravnati maestro Ivo Lipanović, redateljica je Jelena Bosančić, a uz Orkestar i Zbor HNK Split nastupat će Kristina Kolar, Max Jota, Bože Jurić Pešić, Antonija Teskera, Ivona Bosančić Lasić, Paolo Gavanelli i Stefany Findrik.
Ovo omiljeno djelo u Splitu je zadnji put bilo na programu prije sedam godina u koncertnoj verziji, kada je također gostovala sopranistica Kristina Kolar (u međuvremenu je stekla status nacionalne prvakinje), a vrlo interesantan gost je i talijanski bariton Paolo Gavanelli.
Riječ je o uglednom pjevaču koji izvodi najčešće verdijanski repertoar, a bilježi nastupe u glasovitim opernim kućama kao što su La Scala, Pariška opera, Covent Garden i Metropolitan.
Njegov glas ostao je trajno zabilježen u filmu "Kum III" gdje radnja kulminira upravo u kazalištu, na izvedbi "Cavallerie rusticane", a u filmu se, paralelno s opernim scenama, odvijaju brutalna mafijaška ubojstva.
Prvi put 1890.
"Cavalleria rusticana", u prijevodu "Seosko viteštvo" ili "Seoska čast" je prvi put izvedena 17. svibnja 1890. godine u rimskom Teatro Costanzi. Napisana je na temelju natječaja; bili su pozvani svi talijanski mladi operni skladatelji koji još nisu imali izvedeno djelo na pozornicama, uz uvjet da djelo mora biti jednočinka.
Pietro Mascagni za natječaj je saznao prilično kasno. Libreto su mu napisali Giovanni Targioni-Tozzetti i Guido Menasci po romanu Giovannija Verge. Djelo je poslao zadnji dan i osvojio prvo mjesto.
Opera je odmah stekla veliku popularnost, a do skladateljeve smrti, samo u Italiji izvedena je 14 tisuća puta. Priča prati ljubavni četverokut u malom sicilijanskom mjestu, u 19. stoljeću. Povratnik iz rata nalazi svoju bivšu dragu udanu za drugoga. Iz osvete zavodi mladu djevojku, stara mu se ljubav vraća, ali za sve doznaje njezin muž. Rasplet je krvav, završava dvobojem na trgu.

"Cavalleria rusticana" inače je perjanica verističke opere. Glazbeni verizam se razvio potkraj 19. stoljeća, pod utjecajem istoimenog pokreta u književnosti i naturalizma; u prvom planu je realistično prikazivanje ljudskih strasti, mračnih nagona i žestokih sukoba. Verističke su opere pravi koncentrat navedenog.
Razumljivo, u svakoj pravoj operi ima nesretnih ljubavi, bodeža, otrova, nevjere i stradanja. Ali prethodnici verizma nerijetko su mračne i krvave situacije zaodjevali uzvišenošću. Veristi se drže biti, a i likovi su im običniji, svakodnevniji.
Svakako im je put utro sam Verdi koji je u "Traviati" za glavnu junakinju odabrao prostitutku a u "Rigolettu" je naslovni junak dvorska luda i grbavac, što je u ono vrijeme predstavljalo poveliki skandal.
I tema u 'Razjarenom biku'
Elementi verizma svakako su zastupljeni i u Bizetovoj "Carmen" gdje je u prvom planu Ciganka, radnica u tvornici cigareta. Premda obiluje lijepim arijama, najpoznatiji segment "Cavallerie rusticane" je nježni intermezzo između devete i desete scene.
Osim u finalu "Kuma III", glavna je muzička tema u "Razjarenom biku" Martina Scorcesea, a korišten je i u mnogim drugim filmovima.
"Cavalleria" je nekoliko puta ekranizirana, a vrijedi izdvojiti verziju Franca Zeffirellija iz 1982. godine gdje tenorsku ulogu tumači Placido Domingo.
Inače, ovo djelo se zbog kratkoće (traje nešto više od sat vremena) često daje u paru s nekom drugom verističkom jednočinkom. Obično su to "Pagliacci" Ruggera Leoncavalla, ali ove godine se uprava Splitskog ljeta odlučila samo na izvedbu "Cavallerije", što je i iz epidemioloških razloga sigurnije jer se izbjegava pauza i dodatna gužva.

Ove godine će 67. Splitsko ljeto biti tradicionalno otvoreno operom na Peristilu 14. srpnja, a na programu je popularna, kraća veristička opera Pietra Mascagnija "Cavalleria rusticana".
Operom će ravnati maestro Ivo Lipanović, redateljica je Jelena Bosančić, a uz Orkestar i Zbor HNK Split nastupat će Kristina Kolar, Max Jota, Bože Jurić Pešić, Antonija Teskera, Ivona Bosančić Lasić, Paolo Gavanelli i Stefany Findrik.
Ovo omiljeno djelo u Splitu je zadnji put bilo na programu prije sedam godina u koncertnoj verziji, kada je također gostovala sopranistica Kristina Kolar (u međuvremenu je stekla status nacionalne prvakinje), a vrlo interesantan gost je i talijanski bariton Paolo Gavanelli.
Riječ je o uglednom pjevaču koji izvodi najčešće verdijanski repertoar, a bilježi nastupe u glasovitim opernim kućama kao što su La Scala, Pariška opera, Covent Garden i Metropolitan.
Njegov glas ostao je trajno zabilježen u filmu "Kum III" gdje radnja kulminira upravo u kazalištu, na izvedbi "Cavallerie rusticane", a u filmu se, paralelno s opernim scenama, odvijaju brutalna mafijaška ubojstva.
Prvi put 1890.
"Cavalleria rusticana", u prijevodu "Seosko viteštvo" ili "Seoska čast" je prvi put izvedena 17. svibnja 1890. godine u rimskom Teatro Costanzi. Napisana je na temelju natječaja; bili su pozvani svi talijanski mladi operni skladatelji koji još nisu imali izvedeno djelo na pozornicama, uz uvjet da djelo mora biti jednočinka.
Pietro Mascagni za natječaj je saznao prilično kasno. Libreto su mu napisali Giovanni Targioni-Tozzetti i Guido Menasci po romanu Giovannija Verge. Djelo je poslao zadnji dan i osvojio prvo mjesto.
Opera je odmah stekla veliku popularnost, a do skladateljeve smrti, samo u Italiji izvedena je 14 tisuća puta. Priča prati ljubavni četverokut u malom sicilijanskom mjestu, u 19. stoljeću. Povratnik iz rata nalazi svoju bivšu dragu udanu za drugoga. Iz osvete zavodi mladu djevojku, stara mu se ljubav vraća, ali za sve doznaje njezin muž. Rasplet je krvav, završava dvobojem na trgu.

"Cavalleria rusticana" inače je perjanica verističke opere. Glazbeni verizam se razvio potkraj 19. stoljeća, pod utjecajem istoimenog pokreta u književnosti i naturalizma; u prvom planu je realistično prikazivanje ljudskih strasti, mračnih nagona i žestokih sukoba. Verističke su opere pravi koncentrat navedenog.
Razumljivo, u svakoj pravoj operi ima nesretnih ljubavi, bodeža, otrova, nevjere i stradanja. Ali prethodnici verizma nerijetko su mračne i krvave situacije zaodjevali uzvišenošću. Veristi se drže biti, a i likovi su im običniji, svakodnevniji.
Svakako im je put utro sam Verdi koji je u "Traviati" za glavnu junakinju odabrao prostitutku a u "Rigolettu" je naslovni junak dvorska luda i grbavac, što je u ono vrijeme predstavljalo poveliki skandal.
I tema u 'Razjarenom biku'
Elementi verizma svakako su zastupljeni i u Bizetovoj "Carmen" gdje je u prvom planu Ciganka, radnica u tvornici cigareta. Premda obiluje lijepim arijama, najpoznatiji segment "Cavallerie rusticane" je nježni intermezzo između devete i desete scene.
Osim u finalu "Kuma III", glavna je muzička tema u "Razjarenom biku" Martina Scorcesea, a korišten je i u mnogim drugim filmovima.
"Cavalleria" je nekoliko puta ekranizirana, a vrijedi izdvojiti verziju Franca Zeffirellija iz 1982. godine gdje tenorsku ulogu tumači Placido Domingo.
Inače, ovo djelo se zbog kratkoće (traje nešto više od sat vremena) često daje u paru s nekom drugom verističkom jednočinkom. Obično su to "Pagliacci" Ruggera Leoncavalla, ali ove godine se uprava Splitskog ljeta odlučila samo na izvedbu "Cavallerije", što je i iz epidemioloških razloga sigurnije jer se izbjegava pauza i dodatna gužva.
