Audiovizualna izložba "Kad odrastem, bit ću bogatašica" bit će postavljena u Salonu Galić 6. travnja, u 19 sati, premda zbog epidemiološke situacije službenog otvaranja neće biti.

Izložba obuhvaća izbor fotografija Ane Opalić koje bilježe unutrašnjost romskih kuća i svjedoče o stambenim uvjetima romske djece. Fotografije su popraćene audiozapisima novinarke Barbare Matejčić i razgovorima s djecom iz romskih naselja koja govore o svojim željama, ciljevima i školskom iskustvu.

– Doktorica, vojnik, učiteljica, pekarica, inspektor, Messi – odgovaraju romska djeca na pitanje što žele biti kada odrastu.

VOLE ŠKOLU

Govore o svojim željama u vlažnim sobama bez radnog stola i polica s knjigama, u kućama bez tekuće vode, kupaonice i WC-a, ponegdje i bez struje, sjedeći na madracima prostrtim na zemljanim ili betonskim podovima na kojima spavaju s braćom i sestrama, na neasfaltiranim putovima pred svojim kućama u segregiranim naseljima, koja za kiša znaju biti toliko blatnjava i prepuna lokvi da im trebaju visoke gumene čizme kako bi išli u školu, bilježi Barbara Matejčić u povodu izložbe, te nastavlja:

– A školu vole ići. U školi je bolje nego kod kuće. I njihovi roditelji žele da se školuju jer znaju da je obrazovanje put iz siromaštva u kojem su se rodili.

No, oni im ne mogu pomoći sa školskom zadaćom, ne mogu im platiti instrukcije, kupiti pribor za školu, omogućiti mirno mjesto za učenje. Često im ne mogu priskrbiti ni dovoljno hrane kako bi siti išli u školu. Njihovi roditelji su siromašni zato što su neobrazovani, a neobrazovani su zato što su od rođenja siromašni.

Nastavnici u većinski romskim školama znaju se žaliti da djeca ne ispunjavaju svoje obveze, da dolaze u školu bez bilježnica, bez riješenih zadaća. Kada bi posjetili domove svojih učenika, možda bi shvatili zašto je to tako.

U nizu strukturalnih datosti koje utječu na obrazovanje romske djece ključno je siromaštvo, a posljedično i stanovanje na koje se ono neizostavno reflektira.

Audiovizualnom izložbom "Kad odrastem, bit ću bogatašica" zaustavljamo se u prostorima u kojima djeca žive i u kojima maštaju o budućnosti. Kako bi u takvim okolnostima ostvarili svoje želje, koje su iste kao i želje bilo koje druge djece, potrebno je da budu natprosječno ustrajni, marljivi, nepokolebljivi.

NEDOSTATAK SLOBODE

Mnogi od njih u tome neće uspjeti. Nejednakost u kojoj odrastaju nedostatak je stvarne slobode da ostvaruju svoje snove – zaključuje novinarka i spisateljica fokusirana na društvene teme i ljudska prava. Barbara Matejčić diplomirala je inače hrvatski jezik i književnost na Filozofskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Nagrađivana je za svoj rad te je dobitnica nekoliko europskih stipendija.

Ana Opalić, autorica fotografija, diplomirala je TV i filmsko snimanje na Akademiji dramskih umjetnosti u Zagrebu. Bavi se fotografijom, videom i dokumentarnim filmom. Osnivačica je web-portala Suvremena hrvatska fotografija. Redateljica je i snimateljica dvaju dokumentarnih filmova. Obje autorice posebno zahvaljuju obiteljima koje su ih primile u svoje domove i tako omogućile nastajanje izložbe.

Termin izložbe u Splitu poklapa se i sa Svjetskim danom Roma, koji se obilježava 8. travnja, a ulaz je slobodan.

Audiovizualna izložba "Kad odrastem, bit ću bogatašica" bit će postavljena u Salonu Galić 6. travnja, u 19 sati, premda zbog epidemiološke situacije službenog otvaranja neće biti.

Izložba obuhvaća izbor fotografija Ane Opalić koje bilježe unutrašnjost romskih kuća i svjedoče o stambenim uvjetima romske djece. Fotografije su popraćene audiozapisima novinarke Barbare Matejčić i razgovorima s djecom iz romskih naselja koja govore o svojim željama, ciljevima i školskom iskustvu.

– Doktorica, vojnik, učiteljica, pekarica, inspektor, Messi – odgovaraju romska djeca na pitanje što žele biti kada odrastu.

VOLE ŠKOLU

Govore o svojim željama u vlažnim sobama bez radnog stola i polica s knjigama, u kućama bez tekuće vode, kupaonice i WC-a, ponegdje i bez struje, sjedeći na madracima prostrtim na zemljanim ili betonskim podovima na kojima spavaju s braćom i sestrama, na neasfaltiranim putovima pred svojim kućama u segregiranim naseljima, koja za kiša znaju biti toliko blatnjava i prepuna lokvi da im trebaju visoke gumene čizme kako bi išli u školu, bilježi Barbara Matejčić u povodu izložbe, te nastavlja:

– A školu vole ići. U školi je bolje nego kod kuće. I njihovi roditelji žele da se školuju jer znaju da je obrazovanje put iz siromaštva u kojem su se rodili.

No, oni im ne mogu pomoći sa školskom zadaćom, ne mogu im platiti instrukcije, kupiti pribor za školu, omogućiti mirno mjesto za učenje. Često im ne mogu priskrbiti ni dovoljno hrane kako bi siti išli u školu. Njihovi roditelji su siromašni zato što su neobrazovani, a neobrazovani su zato što su od rođenja siromašni.

Nastavnici u većinski romskim školama znaju se žaliti da djeca ne ispunjavaju svoje obveze, da dolaze u školu bez bilježnica, bez riješenih zadaća. Kada bi posjetili domove svojih učenika, možda bi shvatili zašto je to tako.

U nizu strukturalnih datosti koje utječu na obrazovanje romske djece ključno je siromaštvo, a posljedično i stanovanje na koje se ono neizostavno reflektira.

Audiovizualnom izložbom "Kad odrastem, bit ću bogatašica" zaustavljamo se u prostorima u kojima djeca žive i u kojima maštaju o budućnosti. Kako bi u takvim okolnostima ostvarili svoje želje, koje su iste kao i želje bilo koje druge djece, potrebno je da budu natprosječno ustrajni, marljivi, nepokolebljivi.

NEDOSTATAK SLOBODE

Mnogi od njih u tome neće uspjeti. Nejednakost u kojoj odrastaju nedostatak je stvarne slobode da ostvaruju svoje snove – zaključuje novinarka i spisateljica fokusirana na društvene teme i ljudska prava. Barbara Matejčić diplomirala je inače hrvatski jezik i književnost na Filozofskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Nagrađivana je za svoj rad te je dobitnica nekoliko europskih stipendija.

Ana Opalić, autorica fotografija, diplomirala je TV i filmsko snimanje na Akademiji dramskih umjetnosti u Zagrebu. Bavi se fotografijom, videom i dokumentarnim filmom. Osnivačica je web-portala Suvremena hrvatska fotografija. Redateljica je i snimateljica dvaju dokumentarnih filmova. Obje autorice posebno zahvaljuju obiteljima koje su ih primile u svoje domove i tako omogućile nastajanje izložbe.

Termin izložbe u Splitu poklapa se i sa Svjetskim danom Roma, koji se obilježava 8. travnja, a ulaz je slobodan.
