Nedavne kiše u južnoj Kaliforniji tijekom tropske oluje Hilary stvorile su opasne uvjete na cestama u većem dijelu regije.

Spectrum News javlja o pojavi o kojoj i mi nerijetko raspravljamo. Naime, više je izvještaja o prometnim nesrećama. To ne bi trebala biti slučajnost. Podaci iz studije iz 2003. koju je provelo Sveučilište Berkeley pokazuju da su se nesreće sa smrtnim ishodom za kišnih dana utrostručile, ali samo kada su ta kišna razdoblja uslijedila nakon sušnih razdoblja koja su bila duža od tri tjedna.

Razlog je nakupljanje prljavštine na cestama tijekom sušnih razdoblja zbog kojih ceste postaju skliskije kada su mokre, piše HAK.

Kada je vrijeme toplo i sunčano, na cestama se nakuplja talog ulja, masti, gume i prašine. Što sušno razdoblje duže traje, te tvari nakupljat će se sve više i stvoriti tanak sloj na površinama cesta. Sunce će također odigrati svoju ulogu i ‘betonirati‘ taj talog nečistoća, ali samo do prve kiše.

Prije tropske oluje Hilary, većina regije oko Los Angelesa bila je bez kiše od zime, odnosno oborina nije bilo više od pola godine. Kiša će rastopiti te tvari na površini cesta i prometnice učiniti klizavima.

Dakle, neovisno o tome koliko dugo nije bilo kiše, kada krenu padaline, budite oprezni u prometu. Nikada ne možete znati je li na nekom mjestu bilo više istjecanja ulja ili masti…

Nedavne kiše u južnoj Kaliforniji tijekom tropske oluje Hilary stvorile su opasne uvjete na cestama u većem dijelu regije.

Spectrum News javlja o pojavi o kojoj i mi nerijetko raspravljamo. Naime, više je izvještaja o prometnim nesrećama. To ne bi trebala biti slučajnost. Podaci iz studije iz 2003. koju je provelo Sveučilište Berkeley pokazuju da su se nesreće sa smrtnim ishodom za kišnih dana utrostručile, ali samo kada su ta kišna razdoblja uslijedila nakon sušnih razdoblja koja su bila duža od tri tjedna.

Razlog je nakupljanje prljavštine na cestama tijekom sušnih razdoblja zbog kojih ceste postaju skliskije kada su mokre, piše HAK.

Kada je vrijeme toplo i sunčano, na cestama se nakuplja talog ulja, masti, gume i prašine. Što sušno razdoblje duže traje, te tvari nakupljat će se sve više i stvoriti tanak sloj na površinama cesta. Sunce će također odigrati svoju ulogu i ‘betonirati‘ taj talog nečistoća, ali samo do prve kiše.

Prije tropske oluje Hilary, većina regije oko Los Angelesa bila je bez kiše od zime, odnosno oborina nije bilo više od pola godine. Kiša će rastopiti te tvari na površini cesta i prometnice učiniti klizavima.

Dakle, neovisno o tome koliko dugo nije bilo kiše, kada krenu padaline, budite oprezni u prometu. Nikada ne možete znati je li na nekom mjestu bilo više istjecanja ulja ili masti…
