Gruzijska šahovska ikona Nona Gaprindašvili tužila je platformu Netflix, rekavši da je netočno portretirana u njihovoj seriji “Damin gambit”, piše u petak BBC.
Slučaj se odnosi na dio u zadnjoj epizodi u kojem se kaže da Gaprindašvili, koja sada ima 80 godina, nikad nije igrala natjecateljski šah protiv muškaraca.
Dokumenti međutim pokazuju da je ona do 1968., godine na koju se epizoda odnosi, igrala protiv najmanje 59 muških šahista, naglašava BBC.
Netflix pak kaže da tužba nema “nikakvu vrijednost”.
Kompanija ističe da visoko cijeni Gaprindašvili i njezinu karijeru ali da će se žestoko braniti u tom slučaju.
Serija “Damin gambit” temelji se na djelu iz 1983. Waltera Tervisa i fokusira je na fikcionalnu šahisticu Beth Harmon, koju glumi Anya Taylor-Joy.
Serija je izašla prošle godine i postigla golem uspjeh.
U zadnjoj epizodi, komentator spominje Gaprindašvili kada opisuje Harmon i kaže: “Jedina neobična stvar o njoj, doista, jest njezin spol. Pa čak i to nije jedinstveno u Rusiji. Postoji Nona Gaprindašvili, ona je svjetska prvakinja ali nikad nije igrala protiv muškaraca”.
U tužbi se kaže da je “Netflix drsko i namjerno lagao o postignućima Gaprindašvili zbog jeftinog i ciničnog razloga, da bi ‘pojačao dramu’ učinivši da izgleda da je njegova fikcionalna junakinja uspjela učiniti što nijedna žena nije, uključujući Gaprindašvili”.
Rođena 1941. u gruzijskom gradu Zugdidiju, Gaprindašvili je počela igrati šah u dobi od 13 godina, postala ženska prvakinja svijeta s 20 i prva žena koja je dobila naslov velemajstorice, stoji u tužbi.
“Do 1968,” nastavlja se, Gaprindašvili “se natjecala protiv najmanje 59 muških šahista (28 od njih simultano), uključivo protiv velemajstora tog doba”, primjerice Borisa Spaskog, Dragoljuba Velimirovića i Bojana Kurajice.
Gaprindašvili koja danas živi u Tbilisiju traži 5 milijuna dolara odštete i uklanjanje sporne izjave da nikad nije igrala protiv muškaraca.

Gruzijska šahovska ikona Nona Gaprindašvili tužila je platformu Netflix, rekavši da je netočno portretirana u njihovoj seriji “Damin gambit”, piše u petak BBC.
Slučaj se odnosi na dio u zadnjoj epizodi u kojem se kaže da Gaprindašvili, koja sada ima 80 godina, nikad nije igrala natjecateljski šah protiv muškaraca.
Dokumenti međutim pokazuju da je ona do 1968., godine na koju se epizoda odnosi, igrala protiv najmanje 59 muških šahista, naglašava BBC.
Netflix pak kaže da tužba nema “nikakvu vrijednost”.
Kompanija ističe da visoko cijeni Gaprindašvili i njezinu karijeru ali da će se žestoko braniti u tom slučaju.
Serija “Damin gambit” temelji se na djelu iz 1983. Waltera Tervisa i fokusira je na fikcionalnu šahisticu Beth Harmon, koju glumi Anya Taylor-Joy.
Serija je izašla prošle godine i postigla golem uspjeh.
U zadnjoj epizodi, komentator spominje Gaprindašvili kada opisuje Harmon i kaže: “Jedina neobična stvar o njoj, doista, jest njezin spol. Pa čak i to nije jedinstveno u Rusiji. Postoji Nona Gaprindašvili, ona je svjetska prvakinja ali nikad nije igrala protiv muškaraca”.
U tužbi se kaže da je “Netflix drsko i namjerno lagao o postignućima Gaprindašvili zbog jeftinog i ciničnog razloga, da bi ‘pojačao dramu’ učinivši da izgleda da je njegova fikcionalna junakinja uspjela učiniti što nijedna žena nije, uključujući Gaprindašvili”.
Rođena 1941. u gruzijskom gradu Zugdidiju, Gaprindašvili je počela igrati šah u dobi od 13 godina, postala ženska prvakinja svijeta s 20 i prva žena koja je dobila naslov velemajstorice, stoji u tužbi.
“Do 1968,” nastavlja se, Gaprindašvili “se natjecala protiv najmanje 59 muških šahista (28 od njih simultano), uključivo protiv velemajstora tog doba”, primjerice Borisa Spaskog, Dragoljuba Velimirovića i Bojana Kurajice.
Gaprindašvili koja danas živi u Tbilisiju traži 5 milijuna dolara odštete i uklanjanje sporne izjave da nikad nije igrala protiv muškaraca.
