Nikica Marinović , prvotna predstavnica Socijalističke Federativne Republike Jugoslavije, osvajačica titule na izboru za Miss svijeta u Londonu, zauvijek će ostati zapamćena kao najuspješnica Hrvatica na natjecanju za Miss svijeta, no njezina je priča tragična.
Pobjeda na tom slavnom natjecanju nije bila nimalo slučajna. Iako su prijave za Miss Jugoslavije prvotno bile oskudne, glavna urednica magazina Bazar nije odustajala. U svojoj potrazi za anonimnim ljepoticama, pronašla je Nikicu, tihu ali izuzetno šarmantnu učenicu dubrovačke Ekonomske škole. Unatoč sramežljivosti koja je obilježavala Nikicu, nagovorena je da stane pred svjetla pozornice, premda su se njezini konzervativni roditelji tome protivili. Bila je to borba s vlastitim strahovima, ali i s očekivanjima, koja je Nikica hrabro savladala, noseći titulu jedne od najljepših, piše Story .

Nakon natjecanja, Nikica je zaplovila u novi svijet, preselivši se u Beograd. Ponude su pljuštale, no odbila je ponudu slavnog Roberta Rosselinija , odabirući ljubav umjesto slave. Zaljubila se u beogradskog književnika i režisera Vuka Vuča , s kojim je dobila sina Đorđa . Njihov brak nije bio bez izazova, trajao je manje od pet godina, ali ljubav je uvijek imala posebno mjesto u srcu Nikice.
Kasnije se udala za čuvenog redatelja Zdravka Šotru , s kojim je dobila sina Marka . No, ni ta veza nije uspjela očuvati sjaj ljubavi koji je jednom sjao među njima. Nikica je pronašla utjehu u poslu, otvarajući butik u Knez Mihailovoj ulici, no unatoč uspjesima, njezin unutarnji svijet postajao je sve mračniji.

Tuga je preplavila Nikicu, boreći se s depresijom i financijskim problemima, povukla se iz svjetla pozornice i postala usamljena figura u tišini svog stana. No, ni tišina nije donijela olakšanje, već samo dublje patnje. Njezina smrt 2008. godine, uslijed predoziranja tabletama za spavanje, ostavila je iza sebe pitanja koja će zauvijek ostati bez odgovora.

Nikica Marinović , prvotna predstavnica Socijalističke Federativne Republike Jugoslavije, osvajačica titule na izboru za Miss svijeta u Londonu, zauvijek će ostati zapamćena kao najuspješnica Hrvatica na natjecanju za Miss svijeta, no njezina je priča tragična.
Pobjeda na tom slavnom natjecanju nije bila nimalo slučajna. Iako su prijave za Miss Jugoslavije prvotno bile oskudne, glavna urednica magazina Bazar nije odustajala. U svojoj potrazi za anonimnim ljepoticama, pronašla je Nikicu, tihu ali izuzetno šarmantnu učenicu dubrovačke Ekonomske škole. Unatoč sramežljivosti koja je obilježavala Nikicu, nagovorena je da stane pred svjetla pozornice, premda su se njezini konzervativni roditelji tome protivili. Bila je to borba s vlastitim strahovima, ali i s očekivanjima, koja je Nikica hrabro savladala, noseći titulu jedne od najljepših, piše Story .

Nakon natjecanja, Nikica je zaplovila u novi svijet, preselivši se u Beograd. Ponude su pljuštale, no odbila je ponudu slavnog Roberta Rosselinija , odabirući ljubav umjesto slave. Zaljubila se u beogradskog književnika i režisera Vuka Vuča , s kojim je dobila sina Đorđa . Njihov brak nije bio bez izazova, trajao je manje od pet godina, ali ljubav je uvijek imala posebno mjesto u srcu Nikice.
Kasnije se udala za čuvenog redatelja Zdravka Šotru , s kojim je dobila sina Marka . No, ni ta veza nije uspjela očuvati sjaj ljubavi koji je jednom sjao među njima. Nikica je pronašla utjehu u poslu, otvarajući butik u Knez Mihailovoj ulici, no unatoč uspjesima, njezin unutarnji svijet postajao je sve mračniji.

Tuga je preplavila Nikicu, boreći se s depresijom i financijskim problemima, povukla se iz svjetla pozornice i postala usamljena figura u tišini svog stana. No, ni tišina nije donijela olakšanje, već samo dublje patnje. Njezina smrt 2008. godine, uslijed predoziranja tabletama za spavanje, ostavila je iza sebe pitanja koja će zauvijek ostati bez odgovora.
