OK je najčešće izgovorena ili napisana riječ na planeti. Originalno dolazi iz engleskog jezika, ali se kao posuđenica koristi u gotovo svim jezicima svijeta. Označava odobrenje, pristanak, priznanje, ali se tumači i kao znak ravnodušnosti. Postoje brojne teorije o porijeklu riječi, a prvi put je upotrijebljena na današnji dan prije čak 182 godine.

Ok bismo na hrvatski mogli prevesti kao, 'može', 'u redu', 'dobro', ali i 'osrednje' u slučaju da se koristi kao komparacija s boljim: 'Dan smo proveli uživajući, a večer je bila OK.' Zbog toga se dodatno kompliciralo pitanje odakle izvorno dolazi izraz.

U prvoj polovini 19. stoljeća u SAD-u dolazi do stvaranja velikog broja kratica često nastalih i iz pravopisno neispravnih originalno napisanih riječi. Izvrtanje i krivo napisane riječi smatrale su se duhovitima kada su se koristile u novinama, pa je tako prethodnica kratice OK bila OW 'oll wright' (točno se piše all wright), da bi kasnije bila dodatno izmijenjena u 'oll korrect'.

Izraz se koristio desetljećima među ljudima prije nego što je 23. ožujka 1839. pojavio u tisku, tj. u američkim novinama Boston Morning Post. 

Popularnost je kratica stekla dvije godine poslije toga na predsjedničkim izborima. Inicijalima O.K. se počelo nazivati predsjedničkog kandidata Martina Van Burena. O.K. je bila kratica za Old Kinderhook jer je Van Buren bio iz gradića Kinderhook u državi New York. Riječ se proširila Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama, a ubrzo i ostatkom svijeta.

OK je najčešće izgovorena ili napisana riječ na planeti. Originalno dolazi iz engleskog jezika, ali se kao posuđenica koristi u gotovo svim jezicima svijeta. Označava odobrenje, pristanak, priznanje, ali se tumači i kao znak ravnodušnosti. Postoje brojne teorije o porijeklu riječi, a prvi put je upotrijebljena na današnji dan prije čak 182 godine.

Ok bismo na hrvatski mogli prevesti kao, 'može', 'u redu', 'dobro', ali i 'osrednje' u slučaju da se koristi kao komparacija s boljim: 'Dan smo proveli uživajući, a večer je bila OK.' Zbog toga se dodatno kompliciralo pitanje odakle izvorno dolazi izraz.

U prvoj polovini 19. stoljeća u SAD-u dolazi do stvaranja velikog broja kratica često nastalih i iz pravopisno neispravnih originalno napisanih riječi. Izvrtanje i krivo napisane riječi smatrale su se duhovitima kada su se koristile u novinama, pa je tako prethodnica kratice OK bila OW 'oll wright' (točno se piše all wright), da bi kasnije bila dodatno izmijenjena u 'oll korrect'.

Izraz se koristio desetljećima među ljudima prije nego što je 23. ožujka 1839. pojavio u tisku, tj. u američkim novinama Boston Morning Post. 

Popularnost je kratica stekla dvije godine poslije toga na predsjedničkim izborima. Inicijalima O.K. se počelo nazivati predsjedničkog kandidata Martina Van Burena. O.K. je bila kratica za Old Kinderhook jer je Van Buren bio iz gradića Kinderhook u državi New York. Riječ se proširila Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama, a ubrzo i ostatkom svijeta.

OK je najčešće izgovorena ili napisana riječ na planeti. Originalno dolazi iz engleskog jezika, ali se kao posuđenica koristi u gotovo svim jezicima svijeta. Označava odobrenje, pristanak, priznanje, ali se tumači i kao znak ravnodušnosti. Postoje brojne teorije o porijeklu riječi, a prvi put je upotrijebljena na današnji dan prije čak 182 godine.

Ok bismo na hrvatski mogli prevesti kao, 'može', 'u redu', 'dobro', ali i 'osrednje' u slučaju da se koristi kao komparacija s boljim: 'Dan smo proveli uživajući, a večer je bila OK.' Zbog toga se dodatno kompliciralo pitanje odakle izvorno dolazi izraz.

U prvoj polovini 19. stoljeća u SAD-u dolazi do stvaranja velikog broja kratica često nastalih i iz pravopisno neispravnih originalno napisanih riječi. Izvrtanje i krivo napisan...
