Poremećaji živčanog sustava kao što su moždani udari, migrene i demencija ‘preskočili‘ su srčane bolesti i postali vodeći uzrok lošeg zdravlja u cijelom svijetu, pokazuje nova velika studija objavljena u petak.

Više od 3,4 milijarde ljudi odnosno 43 posto svjetske populacije iskusilo je neko neurološko stanje 2021., daleko više nego što se dosad mislilo, pokazalo je istraživanje.

Studiju su provele stotine znanstvenika predvođenih američkim Institutom za mjerenja i procjenu zdravlja (IHME), koji je postao globalna referenca za zdravstvenu statistiku.

Voditeljica studije Jaimie Steinmetz iz IHME-a rekla je da rezultati pokazuju da su poremećaji živčanog sustava sada "vodeći svjetski uzrok ukupnog tereta bolesti".

Broj slučajeva tih poremećaja porastao je 59 posto u posljednja tri desetljeća, rekla je, a povećanje je uglavnom potaknuto činjenicom da svjetska populacija stari i da se broj ljudi brzo povećava.

Znanstvenici su proučavali kako je 37 različitih neuroloških stanja utjecalo na loše zdravlje, invaliditet i preuranjenu smrt u 204 zemlje i teritorija od 1990. do 2021.

Ti su podaci korišteni za procjenu koliko je godina zdravog života izgubljeno zbog svakog od tih stanja, što se naziva godine života s invaliditetom (DALY).

Više od 443 milijuna godina zdravog života izgubljeno je zbog poremećaja živčanog sustava u cijelom svijetu 2021. godine, što je povećanje od 18 posto u odnosu na 1990. godinu, pokazalo je istraživanje.

Međutim, ako se rezultati korigiraju uzimajući u obzir dob i rastuću veličinu svjetske populacije, DALY i smrtnost od tih stanja zapravo su se smanjili za oko trećinu, rekli su znanstvenici.

Daleko najgore stanje je s moždanim udarima, koji su odgovorni za izgubljenih 160 milijuna godina zdravog života.

Slijede oblik oštećenja mozga nazvan neonatalna encefalopatija, migrena, demencija uključujući Alzheimerovu bolest, oštećenje živaca od dijabetesa, meningitis i epilepsija.

Kognitivno oštećenje uzrokovano covidom zauzelo je 20. mjesto.

Više od 11 milijuna ljudi umrlo je od 37 neuroloških stanja u 2021., prema studiji objavljenoj u časopisu The Lancet Neurology.

Kardiovaskularne bolesti ostale su vodeći uzrok smrti, odnijevši živote 19,8 milijuna ljudi u svijetu 2022., objavio je IHME prošle godine.

Najčešći među neurološkim poremećajima, prema istraživanju, su tenzijske glavobolje i migrene.

Najbrže rastuće stanje je oštećenje živaca zvano dijabetička neuropatija uzrokovano sve većim brojem slučajeva dijabetesa.

Za većinu ovih stanja nema lijeka, ali postoje načini da se smanji rizik, uključujući smanjenje stope visokog krvnog tlaka, dijabetesa i konzumacije alkohola, ističu znanstvenici.

Pozvali su da se učini mnogo više za prevenciju, liječenje i rehabilitaciju poremećaja koji nesrazmjerno pogađaju siromašnije zemlje.

"Neurološko ‘opterećenje‘ u svijetu raste vrlo brzo i izazvat će još veći pritisak na zdravstvene sustave u nadolazećim desetljećima", upozorio je koautor studije Valery Feigin.

Prvi se put studija o globalnom teretu bolesti bavila utjecajem neuroloških poremećaja na djecu.

Oni su činili gotovo petinu svih DALY-a, što znači da su djeca diljem svijeta izgubila 80 milijuna godina zdravog života zbog tih poremećaja samo u 2019. godini.

Poremećaji živčanog sustava kao što su moždani udari, migrene i demencija ‘preskočili‘ su srčane bolesti i postali vodeći uzrok lošeg zdravlja u cijelom svijetu, pokazuje nova velika studija objavljena u petak.

Više od 3,4 milijarde ljudi odnosno 43 posto svjetske populacije iskusilo je neko neurološko stanje 2021., daleko više nego što se dosad mislilo, pokazalo je istraživanje.

Studiju su provele stotine znanstvenika predvođenih američkim Institutom za mjerenja i procjenu zdravlja (IHME), koji je postao globalna referenca za zdravstvenu statistiku.

Voditeljica studije Jaimie Steinmetz iz IHME-a rekla je da rezultati pokazuju da su poremećaji živčanog sustava sada "vodeći svjetski uzrok ukupnog tereta bolesti".

Broj slučajeva tih poremećaja porastao je 59 posto u posljednja tri desetljeća, rekla je, a povećanje je uglavnom potaknuto činjenicom da svjetska populacija stari i da se broj ljudi brzo povećava.

Znanstvenici su proučavali kako je 37 različitih neuroloških stanja utjecalo na loše zdravlje, invaliditet i preuranjenu smrt u 204 zemlje i teritorija od 1990. do 2021.

Ti su podaci korišteni za procjenu koliko je godina zdravog života izgubljeno zbog svakog od tih stanja, što se naziva godine života s invaliditetom (DALY).

Više od 443 milijuna godina zdravog života izgubljeno je zbog poremećaja živčanog sustava u cijelom svijetu 2021. godine, što je povećanje od 18 posto u odnosu na 1990. godinu, pokazalo je istraživanje.

Međutim, ako se rezultati korigiraju uzimajući u obzir dob i rastuću veličinu svjetske populacije, DALY i smrtnost od tih stanja zapravo su se smanjili za oko trećinu, rekli su znanstvenici.

Daleko najgore stanje je s moždanim udarima, koji su odgovorni za izgubljenih 160 milijuna godina zdravog života.

Slijede oblik oštećenja mozga nazvan neonatalna encefalopatija, migrena, demencija uključujući Alzheimerovu bolest, oštećenje živaca od dijabetesa, meningitis i epilepsija.

Kognitivno oštećenje uzrokovano covidom zauzelo je 20. mjesto.

Više od 11 milijuna ljudi umrlo je od 37 neuroloških stanja u 2021., prema studiji objavljenoj u časopisu The Lancet Neurology.

Kardiovaskularne bolesti ostale su vodeći uzrok smrti, odnijevši živote 19,8 milijuna ljudi u svijetu 2022., objavio je IHME prošle godine.

Najčešći među neurološkim poremećajima, prema istraživanju, su tenzijske glavobolje i migrene.

Najbrže rastuće stanje je oštećenje živaca zvano dijabetička neuropatija uzrokovano sve većim brojem slučajeva dijabetesa.

Za većinu ovih stanja nema lijeka, ali postoje načini da se smanji rizik, uključujući smanjenje stope visokog krvnog tlaka, dijabetesa i konzumacije alkohola, ističu znanstvenici.

Pozvali su da se učini mnogo više za prevenciju, liječenje i rehabilitaciju poremećaja koji nesrazmjerno pogađaju siromašnije zemlje.

"Neurološko ‘opterećenje‘ u svijetu raste vrlo brzo i izazvat će još veći pritisak na zdravstvene sustave u nadolazećim desetljećima", upozorio je koautor studije Valery Feigin.

Prvi se put studija o globalnom teretu bolesti bavila utjecajem neuroloških poremećaja na djecu.

Oni su činili gotovo petinu svih DALY-a, što znači da su djeca diljem svijeta izgubila 80 milijuna godina zdravog života zbog tih poremećaja samo u 2019. godini.
