Novi predsjednik SAD-a Joe Biden uselio je u Bijelu kuću sa svojom obitelji i dva psa, od kojih je mlađi Major udomljen.
Bidenovi su udomili Majora prije dvije godine, kada je s još šest štenaca bio bačen na smetlište i spašen hitnom veterinarskom intervencijom.
Tom prilikom Biden je zahvalio lokalnoj organizaciji za zaštitu životinja na pronalaženju doma za Majora i bezbrojne druge životinje.

Nekoliko dana prije Bidenove inauguracije, organizirana je "indoguracija” za Majora, kojom se proslavio bajkovit put napuštenoga psa iz skloništa do Bijele kuće.

Iako neki navode da je Major prvi udomljeni pas koji dolazi živjeti u službenu rezidenciju Predsjednika SAD-a, tijekom predsjedničkog mandata Lyndona B. Johnsona 1960-ih, ondje je živio i mješanac Yuki, kojega je pronašla napuštenog na benzinskoj crpki u Texasu njegova kći Luci.

Yuki je bio prvi udomljeni pas u Bijeloj kući, koji je vjerno pratio predsjednika u gotovo svim njegovim aktivnostima. Predsjednik je vodio Yukija sa sobom na sastanke kabineta i u Ovalni ured, plivali su zajedno u bazenu, a Johnson je i plesao s njim na vjenčanju kćerke Lynde.

Govorio je za Yukija da je najpametniji i najviše prijateljski raspoložen od svih pasa koje je poznavao. Yuki je navodno bio uz njega i u trenutku Johnsonove smrti.
I Bidenova supruga Jill najavila je da bi predsjednički par volio udomiti i mačku. To ne bi bila prva udomljena mačka u predsjedničkoj rezidenciji jer tu je ranije živio Socks, mačak kojega je udomila kći Billa Clintona, dok je još bio guverner Arkansasa.
Socks je doživio gotovo 20 godina.
Crno-bijeli mačak redovito se pojavljivao na fotografijama iz Bijele kuće tijekom osmogodišnjeg Clintonova predsjedničkog mandata, često sjedeći na predsjednikovu ramenu.

Imao je vlastiti internetski klub obožavatelja, pojavljivao se na dobrotvornim akcijama za životinje i bio je jedan od tema knjige Hillary Clinton "Dragi Socks, dragi prijatelj: Dječja pisma Prvim kućnim ljubimcima”.

Iako neki navode da je Major prvi udomljeni pas koji dolazi živjeti u službenu rezidenciju Predsjednika SAD-a, tijekom predsjedničkog mandata Lyndona B. Johnsona 1960-ih, ondje je živio i mješanac Yuki, kojega je pronašla napuštenog na benzinskoj crpki u Texasu njegova kći Luci.

Yuki je bio prvi udomljeni pas u Bijeloj kući, koji je vjerno pratio predsjednika u gotovo svim njegovim aktivnostima. Predsjednik je vodio Yukija sa sobom na sastanke kabineta i u Ovalni ured, plivali su zajedno u bazenu, a Johnson je i plesao s njim na vjenčanju kćerke Lynde.

Govorio je za Yukija da je najpametniji i najviše prijateljski raspoložen od svih pasa koje je poznavao. Yuki je navodno bio uz njega i u trenutku Johnsonove smrti.
I Bidenova supruga Jill najavila je da bi predsjednički par volio udomiti i mačku. To ne bi bila prva udomljena mačka u predsjedničkoj rezidenciji jer tu je ranije živio Socks, mačak kojega je udomila kći Billa Clintona, dok je još bio guverner Arkansasa.
Socks je doživio gotovo 20 godina.
Crno-bijeli mačak redovito se pojavljivao na fotografijama iz Bijele kuće tijekom osmogodišnjeg Clintonova predsjedničkog mandata, često sjedeći na predsjednikovu ramenu.
