Britanka Ella Pick se počela osjećati loše tijekom jednotjednog odmora u Grčkoj sa svoje četiri prijateljice, a za sve je okrivila mamurluk. Njen život se u potpunosti promijenio nakon što se vratila s putovanja i otišla na pregled, gdje su liječnici otkrili da ima neizlječivi tumor na mozgu i još godinu dana života, prenosi Daily Mail.

Tijekom početka putovanja u lipnju prošle godine, kaže, sve je bilo odlično. Zadnjih par dana je primijetila da se osjeća čudno. Mislila je da je mamurna, stoga više nije htjela piti alkohol. Simptomi su se samo pogoršali kad se vratila kući.

- Nakon tjedan dana, počela sam dobivati jake migrene. Pritisak u stražnjem dijelu glave bio je strašan. Uvijek sam patila od migrena, ali nikad u tolikoj mjeri. Lijevo oko mi je skrenulo prema sredini lica - ispričala je 19-godišnja djevojka, koja je otišla na pregled očiju, odakle su je zabrinuti liječnici hitno uputili u bolnicu.

Liječnici su joj pronašli kvržicu na mozgu, koja je kasnije bila dijagnosticirana kao difuzni gliom središnje linije, neizlječiv i neoperabilan rak, zbog kojeg su joj dali procjenu u srpnju prošle godine da joj je ostalo još 12 mjeseci života. Ovi brzorastući tumori najčešće pogađaju djecu, ali mogu se pojaviti i kod odraslih, prenosi Jutarnji.

Pogađaju središnju liniju između dvije polovice mozga, a većina pacijenata nažalost premine unutar godinu dana od dijagnoze. Najčešće uzrokuju probleme s ravnotežom i hodanjem, slabost u rukama i nogama, poteškoće u kontroli izraza lica i govoru, probleme s gutanjem i žvakanjem, dvostruki vid i probleme s kontroliranjem pokreta očiju. Također mogu izazvati mučninu, umor i glavobolju.

Nakon dijagnoze, Pick je morala odbiti intervju za radno mjesto u aviokompaniji British Airways, posao o kojem je godinama sanjala. Rekla je da se osjeća “umrtvljeno” otkad je saznala dijagnozu.

- Još uvijek mi se ne čini stvarno, svi moji bližnji su zapravo pogođeni više nego ja. Ne mogu točno reći koliko još vremena imam, jer ne mogu na biopsiju zbog mjesta gdje se tumor nalazi. Vjerojatno bi me tijekom nje paralizirali - objašnjava.

Prošle godine je išla na šestotjednu radioterapiju u nadi da će se usporiti rast tumora, koji je ostao stabilan i nije se povećavao nakon liječenja.

- Uvijek postoje različita ispitivanja s raznim lijekovima. Spremna sam probati bilo što. Nikad ne očekuješ da će ti se ovako nešto dogoditi s 18 godina - zaključila je Ella Pick.

Britanka Ella Pick se počela osjećati loše tijekom jednotjednog odmora u Grčkoj sa svoje četiri prijateljice, a za sve je okrivila mamurluk. Njen život se u potpunosti promijenio nakon što se vratila s putovanja i otišla na pregled, gdje su liječnici otkrili da ima neizlječivi tumor na mozgu i još godinu dana života, prenosi Daily Mail.

Tijekom početka putovanja u lipnju prošle godine, kaže, sve je bilo odlično. Zadnjih par dana je primijetila da se osjeća čudno. Mislila je da je mamurna, stoga više nije htjela piti alkohol. Simptomi su se samo pogoršali kad se vratila kući.

- Nakon tjedan dana, počela sam dobivati jake migrene. Pritisak u stražnjem dijelu glave bio je strašan. Uvijek sam patila od migrena, ali nikad u tolikoj mjeri. Lijevo oko mi je skrenulo prema sredini lica - ispričala je 19-godišnja djevojka, koja je otišla na pregled očiju, odakle su je zabrinuti liječnici hitno uputili u bolnicu.

Liječnici su joj pronašli kvržicu na mozgu, koja je kasnije bila dijagnosticirana kao difuzni gliom središnje linije, neizlječiv i neoperabilan rak, zbog kojeg su joj dali procjenu u srpnju prošle godine da joj je ostalo još 12 mjeseci života. Ovi brzorastući tumori najčešće pogađaju djecu, ali mogu se pojaviti i kod odraslih, prenosi Jutarnji.

Pogađaju središnju liniju između dvije polovice mozga, a većina pacijenata nažalost premine unutar godinu dana od dijagnoze. Najčešće uzrokuju probleme s ravnotežom i hodanjem, slabost u rukama i nogama, poteškoće u kontroli izraza lica i govoru, probleme s gutanjem i žvakanjem, dvostruki vid i probleme s kontroliranjem pokreta očiju. Također mogu izazvati mučninu, umor i glavobolju.

Nakon dijagnoze, Pick je morala odbiti intervju za radno mjesto u aviokompaniji British Airways, posao o kojem je godinama sanjala. Rekla je da se osjeća “umrtvljeno” otkad je saznala dijagnozu.

- Još uvijek mi se ne čini stvarno, svi moji bližnji su zapravo pogođeni više nego ja. Ne mogu točno reći koliko još vremena imam, jer ne mogu na biopsiju zbog mjesta gdje se tumor nalazi. Vjerojatno bi me tijekom nje paralizirali - objašnjava.

Prošle godine je išla na šestotjednu radioterapiju u nadi da će se usporiti rast tumora, koji je ostao stabilan i nije se povećavao nakon liječenja.

- Uvijek postoje različita ispitivanja s raznim lijekovima. Spremna sam probati bilo što. Nikad ne očekuješ da će ti se ovako nešto dogoditi s 18 godina - zaključila je Ella Pick.
