Znanstvenici diljem svijeta, već neko vrijeme, upozoravaju da bi sječe šuma mogle biti ključan element u širenju raznih virusa. U prilog toj tezi posječene šume nazivaju 'slučajnim laboratorijima' za razvoj novih virusa. 

Kada su u pitanju HIV, Ebola i SARS, znanstvenici su dokumentirali potencijalnu putanju virusa od šišmiša, preko nekih sisavaca, sve do ljudskog organizma, te smatraju da je podloga svega toga upravo sječa šuma.

- Sječom šuma i prodajom divljih životinja, poput šišmiša ili majmuna, nastanak novih virusa postaje neizbježan, dok rast populacije, gusta urbanizacija i migracije ljudi olakšavaju njihovo širenje", rekao je dr. Seth Berkley, šef GAVI Alliance -  u časopisu Scientific American.

Prije dvije godine, skupina znanstvenika objavila je rezultate istraživanja u časopisu Frontiers in Microbiology o ulozi sječe šuma i nastanku i širenju virusa:

- Biološki problem nastanka virusa nije se temeljito promijenio, ali vjerojatnost pojave rizika raste zbog promjena u okolini i većeg pritiska na okoliš, napisali su Aneta Afelt, Roger Frutos i Christian Devaux.

- Šišmiši, na primjer, domaćini su velikog broja virusa, no njihov imunitet daleko je jači nego li kod drugih sisavaca. U prirodnom okruženju, populacija šišmiša i virusi koje nose, ograničeni su njihovim ekosustavima, ali u poremećenim okruženjima raseljeni šišmiši ponašaju se drugačije i postaju opasniji, zaključuju autori istraživanja.

- Kuće i staje pružaju utočište šišmišima, a svjetla privlače insekte kojima se oni hrane. Ovakav okoliš rezultira većom koncentracijom i biološkom raznolikošću virusa koje prenose šišmiši.

Ipak, znanstvenici naglašavaju da šišmiši nisu direktni prijenosnici virusa na ljude. Njihov imunološki sustav može biti odgovor na virusne epidemije, no oni nisu primarni prijenosnici tih virusa. Kad virusi napadne čovjeka, to se obično odvilo kroz ljudsku aktivnost.

Koronavirus, prema istraživanja, pronađen je na tržnici u Wuhanu koja prodaje žive divlje životinje, poput civet mački, a koje se u Kini smatraju kulinarskom delicijom. Virusi slični onom koji uzrokuje Covid-19 pronađeni su u kineskim šišmišima, a moguće je da su mutirali i u civet mačkama.

Andrew Cunningham, profesor  iz londonskog zoološkog društva smatra da je prijenos virusa sa šišmiša ili neke druge divlje životinje na ljude, gotovo uvijek uvjetovan ljudskim faktorom.

Britanski znanstvenici smatraju da je zbog ljudske aktivnost izrazito teško predvidjeti tijek i širenje pojedinog virusa, pa tako i virusa SARS-CoV-2. 

- O pojavi nekog virusa ovisi veliki broj faktora, no sječa šuma svakako je jedan od bitnijih. Povećana vjerojatnost susreta i pojave lanca događaja, vodećih u nastajanju virusa koji proizlaze iz antropiziranih sredina, mora se ozbiljno razmotriti, zaključuju.

Znanstvenici diljem svijeta, već neko vrijeme, upozoravaju da bi sječe šuma mogle biti ključan element u širenju raznih virusa. U prilog toj tezi posječene šume nazivaju 'slučajnim laboratorijima' za razvoj novih virusa. 

Kada su u pitanju HIV, Ebola i SARS, znanstvenici su dokumentirali potencijalnu putanju virusa od šišmiša, preko nekih sisavaca, sve do ljudskog organizma, te smatraju da je podloga svega toga upravo sječa šuma.

- Sječom šuma i prodajom divljih životinja, poput šišmiša ili majmuna, nastanak novih virusa postaje neizbježan, dok rast populacije, gusta urbanizacija i migracije ljudi olakšavaju njihovo širenje", rekao je dr. Seth Berkley, šef GAVI Alliance -  u časopisu Scientific American.

Prije dvije godine, skupina znanstvenika objavila je rezultate istraživanja u časopisu Frontiers in Microbiology o ulozi sječe šuma i nastanku i širenju virusa:

- Biološki problem nastanka virusa nije se temeljito promijenio, ali vjerojatnost pojave rizika raste zbog promjena u okolini i većeg pritiska na okoliš, napisali su Aneta Afelt, Roger Frutos i Christian Devaux.

- Šišmiši, na primjer, domaćini su velikog broja virusa, no njihov imunitet daleko je jači nego li kod drugih sisavaca. U prirodnom okruženju, populacija šišmiša i virusi koje nose, ograničeni su njihovim ekosustavima, ali u poremećenim okruženjima raseljeni šišmiši ponašaju se drugačije i postaju opasniji, zaključuju autori istraživanja.

- Kuće i staje pružaju utočište šišmišima, a svjetla privlače insekte kojima se oni hrane. Ovakav okoliš rezultira većom koncentracijom i biološkom raznolikošću virusa koje prenose šišmiši.

Ipak, znanstvenici naglašavaju da šišmiši nisu direktni prijenosnici virusa na ljude. Njihov imunološki sustav može biti odgovor na virusne epidemije, no oni nisu primarni prijenosnici tih virusa. Kad virusi napadne čovjeka, to se obično odvilo kroz ljudsku aktivnost.

Koronavirus, prema istraživanja, pronađen je na tržnici u Wuhanu koja prodaje žive divlje životinje, poput civet mački, a koje se u Kini smatraju kulinarskom delicijom. Virusi slični onom koji uzrokuje Covid-19 pronađeni su u kineskim šišmišima, a moguće je da su mutirali i u civet mačkama.

Andrew Cunningham, profesor  iz londonskog zoološkog društva smatra da je prijenos virusa sa šišmiša ili neke druge divlje životinje na ljude, gotovo uvijek uvjetovan ljudskim faktorom.

Britanski znanstvenici smatraju da je zbog ljudske aktivnost izrazito teško predvidjeti tijek i širenje pojedinog virusa, pa tako i virusa SARS-CoV-2. 

- O pojavi nekog virusa ovisi veliki broj faktora, no sječa šuma svakako je jedan od bitnijih. Povećana vjerojatnost susreta i pojave lanca događaja, vodećih u nastajanju virusa koji proizlaze iz antropiziranih sredina, mora se ozbiljno razmotriti, zaključuju.

Kako sječa šuma pospješuje nastanak i širenje novih virusa: znanstvenici upozoravaju da se taj lanac događaja mora ozbiljno razmotriti

Znanstvenici diljem svijeta, već neko vrijeme, upozoravaju da bi sječe šuma mogle biti ključan element u širenju raznih virusa. U prilog toj tezi posječene šume nazivaju 'slučajnim laboratorijima' za razvoj novih virusa. 

Kada su u pitanju HIV, Ebola i SARS, znanstvenici su dokumentirali potencijalnu putanju virusa od šišmiša, preko nekih sisavaca, sve do ljudskog organizma, te smatraju da je podloga svega toga upravo sječa šuma.

- Sječom šuma i prodajom divljih životinja, poput šišmiša ili majmuna, nastanak novih virusa postaje neizbježan, dok rast populacije, gusta urbanizacija i migracije ljudi olakšavaju njihovo širenje", rekao je dr. Seth Berkley, šef GAVI Alliance -  u časopisu Scientific American.
