U povodu Svjetskog dana knjige, koji je i kod nas obilježen manifestacijom koja nosi naziv Noć knjige, provedeno je istraživanje koje je utvrdilo da je u Hrvatskoj doista na djelu – sumrak čitanja.
Naime, na reprezentativnom uzorku od tisuću ispitanika agencija Kvaka – Ured za kreativnu analizu, provela je istraživanje o čitateljskim navikama Hrvata i Hrvatica te došla do zaključka da je u proteklih godinu dana jednu ili više knjiga pročitalo tek 45 posto ljudi, što je četiri posto manje nego godinu dana ranije, kad smo još vjerovali da je korona tek prolazna kriza.
Najviše ljudi je čitalo krimiće, a ono što posebno privlači pozornost jest dominantan stav da knjiga uopće nije izvor znanja.
Od ljudi koji su za vrijeme pandemije ipak čitali više nego inače, svaka treća osoba čitala je više samo za vrijeme najstrožeg zatvaranja, kad i tako nisu mogli niti kamo otići niti što drugo raditi.
Logično, promijenilo se i ponašanje u pogledu posjećivanja knjižnica u odnosu na razdoblje prije pandemije – i oni koji čitaju, njih trećina, posjećivalo je knjižnice manje nego prije, dok ih je samo devet posto u knjižnicu, s maskom na licu i knjigom u srcu, išlo češće nego prije korone.
Krimići i ljubići
Upravo oni su se tijekom korone okrenuli kriminalističkom štivu, potom znanstveno-fantastičnim i ljubavnim romanima, ali njih 16 posto otkrilo je i knjige za rješavanje praktičnih problema te knjige namijenjene osobnom razvoju i duhovnoj literaturi.
Iz svega navedenoga, ali i iz izbora literature proizlazi stav većine ispitanika da knjige nisu izvor znanja. Pri tome, zanimljivo je i kako oni koji čitaju uopće odabiru naslove za čitanje - 14 posto ispitanih izjavilo je da se u doba pandemije rukovode savjetima ljudi sa društvenih mreža koji im dođu kao neki književni influenceri, a znatno manje se prate preporuke knjižničara.

Premda samo svaki deseti ispitanik vjeruje da im knjiga može biti izvor znanja, ipak 59 posto njih misli kako im knjige pomažu u boljem razumijevanju svijeta oko sebe, što je poprilično paradoksalno.
S obzirom na obljubljenost kriminalističke literature, možemo zaključiti da su tijekom pandemije brojni naši sunarodnjaci dodatno produbili razumijevanje kriminalnih mehanizama, ako već i nisu ništa novo naučili u smislu možebitnog vlastitog angažmana na tome području. Što i nije tako loša vijest...
No svako zlo za neko dobro – umjesto čitanja knjiga, Hrvatima i Hrvaticama znatno su privlačniji portali dnevnih novina. Čak 68 posto ispitanih odgovorilo je da najviše, i to na internetu čita dnevne novine, te portale ili blogove s autorskim, kritičkim i drugim sadržajima, dok e-knjige čita 30 posto online populacije, pri čemu su natpolovični čitatelji e-knjiga prije svega učenici i studenti.

Ipak, postotak ljudi koji kupuju knjige nije se promijenio u vrijeme korone - u posljednja tri mjeseca otprilike je tek svaki četvrti ispitanik kupio barem jednu knjigu.
Većina onih koji su kupili knjige izjavili su da njihovi osobni izdaci na knjige nisu ni veći ni manji nego prije pandemije, no suočeni s mogućnošću da nas zapljusne još gori pandemijski val od onih koje smo već prošli, golema većina anketiranih, njih čak 90 posto, smatra da i knjižare i knjižnice trebaju ostati otvorene, dakako, uz poštivanje epidemioloških mjera.

U povodu Svjetskog dana knjige, koji je i kod nas obilježen manifestacijom koja nosi naziv Noć knjige, provedeno je istraživanje koje je utvrdilo da je u Hrvatskoj doista na djelu – sumrak čitanja.
Naime, na reprezentativnom uzorku od tisuću ispitanika agencija Kvaka – Ured za kreativnu analizu, provela je istraživanje o čitateljskim navikama Hrvata i Hrvatica te došla do zaključka da je u proteklih godinu dana jednu ili više knjiga pročitalo tek 45 posto ljudi, što je četiri posto manje nego godinu dana ranije, kad smo još vjerovali da je korona tek prolazna kriza.
Najviše ljudi je čitalo krimiće, a ono što posebno privlači pozornost jest dominantan stav da knjiga uopće nije izvor znanja.
Od ljudi koji su za vrijeme pandemije ipak čitali više nego inače, svaka treća osoba čitala je više samo za vrijeme najstrožeg zatvaranja, kad i tako nisu mogli niti kamo otići niti što drugo raditi.
Logično, promijenilo se i ponašanje u pogledu posjećivanja knjižnica u odnosu na razdoblje prije pandemije – i oni koji čitaju, njih trećina, posjećivalo je knjižnice manje nego prije, dok ih je samo devet posto u knjižnicu, s maskom na licu i knjigom u srcu, išlo češće nego prije korone.
Krimići i ljubići
Upravo oni su se tijekom korone okrenuli kriminalističkom štivu, potom znanstveno-fantastičnim i ljubavnim romanima, ali njih 16 posto otkrilo je i knjige za rješavanje praktičnih problema te knjige namijenjene osobnom razvoju i duhovnoj literaturi.
Iz svega navedenoga, ali i iz izbora literature proizlazi stav većine ispitanika da knjige nisu izvor znanja. Pri tome, zanimljivo je i kako oni koji čitaju uopće odabiru naslove za čitanje - 14 posto ispitanih izjavilo je da se u doba pandemije rukovode savjetima ljudi sa društvenih mreža koji im dođu kao neki književni influenceri, a znatno manje se prate preporuke knjižničara.

Premda samo svaki deseti ispitanik vjeruje da im knjiga može biti izvor znanja, ipak 59 posto njih misli kako im knjige pomažu u boljem razumijevanju svijeta oko sebe, što je poprilično paradoksalno.
S obzirom na obljubljenost kriminalističke literature, možemo zaključiti da su tijekom pandemije brojni naši sunarodnjaci dodatno produbili razumijevanje kriminalnih mehanizama, ako već i nisu ništa novo naučili u smislu možebitnog vlastitog angažmana na tome području. Što i nije tako loša vijest...
No svako zlo za neko dobro – umjesto čitanja knjiga, Hrvatima i Hrvaticama znatno su privlačniji portali dnevnih novina. Čak 68 posto ispitanih odgovorilo je da najviše, i to na internetu čita dnevne novine, te portale ili blogove s autorskim, kritičkim i drugim sadržajima, dok e-knjige čita 30 posto online populacije, pri čemu su natpolovični čitatelji e-knjiga prije svega učenici i studenti.

Ipak, postotak ljudi koji kupuju knjige nije se promijenio u vrijeme korone - u posljednja tri mjeseca otprilike je tek svaki četvrti ispitanik kupio barem jednu knjigu.
Većina onih koji su kupili knjige izjavili su da njihovi osobni izdaci na knjige nisu ni veći ni manji nego prije pandemije, no suočeni s mogućnošću da nas zapljusne još gori pandemijski val od onih koje smo već prošli, golema većina anketiranih, njih čak 90 posto, smatra da i knjižare i knjižnice trebaju ostati otvorene, dakako, uz poštivanje epidemioloških mjera.

Drugim riječima, dođe li stani-pani, Hrvati ipak žele imati mogućnost doći makar do literature, a hoće li tu mogućnost i iskoristiti – to je već drugi par postola.
