Šibenik očito ne voli svoje drveće. Ne voli tako ni svoje judiće, ili kako se još zove Judino drvo, na Poljani, koji eto, u tri godine od kada su tu posađeni i od kada je u lipnju 2020. godine svečano otvoren preuređeni središnji gradski trg, stoje jadni i žalosni onako kako su i posađeni.
Sve te godine, naime, nisu uspjeli narasti gotovo ni centimetar. Njihove krošnje koje su, uz postojeća sjenila, klupama ispod njih trebale praviti hlad i ugodu svim koji tu zastanu i sjednu, samo što se ne osuše! Kao donedavno i onaj nesretni oleandar koji raste na Starom pazaru u najskupljem pitaru u Hrvatskoj. Oleandar se škapulao u zadnji tren, jer su u Zelenom gradu, komunalnoj tvrtki koja se brine za zelenilo i javne površine u gradu, shvatili, možda i zbog našeg pisanja, da ga ipak treba povremeno i zaliti. Hoće li spas doći i za i pet tanušnih judića na Poljani?

Iako smo dobrano zagazili u 21. stoljeće i na svakom kantunu sustižu nas posljedice evidentnih klimatskih promjena, a u priči o mogućem spasu planeta drveće i šume imaju neopisivo značajnu ulogu, Šibenik, gradska uprava i mjerodavna poduzeća ponašaju se kao da ih se te klimatske prijetnje uopće ne tiču. Čak i kada ptice na grani već znaju da drveće i šume stvaraju kisik, apsorbiraju staklenički plin - ugljikov dioksid, čuvaju ozonski omotač... Čak i kada znanstvenici upozoravaju kolika je dobrobit drveća u gradovima u snižavanju ljetnih žega koje postaju sve ekstremnije. Naime, u gradovima s puno zelenila i drveća, temperatura zraka ljeti može biti niža i za nekoliko stupnjeva!
Da tvrdnja o nemaru mjerodavnih prema zelenilu u Šibeniku nije pretjerana dovoljno govori pogled na borove šume oko šibenskih tvrđava i na Šubićevcu: u toliko su katastrofalnom stanju, neodržavane, poharane požarima i potkornjacima, da se broj stabala iz godine u godinu drastično smanjuje. Rijetki su petci kada se posadi novo stablo, a i to se događa uglavnom ako se na tom mjestu zbog građevinskih ili nekih drugih zahvata dotadašnje drveće posjeklo. Sjetimo se samo nesretne pitospore na dnu stubišta koja je platila glavom, tj. korijenjem, zbog jednog panoa. Nedavni primjer, nasumice izabran, su i deseci borova, česmina i čepresa posađenih prošle godine po obnovljenoj Tvrđavi sv. Ivana. Uvenuli su ekspresnom brzinom, jer ih nitko nije zalijevao, unatoč suhom i vrelom ljetu koje je uslijedilo. Preživjelo je tek nekoliko stabala, a nakon što je sasušeno drveće izvađeno, ostala je gola zemlja prepuštena vjetru da je raznosi i suncu da vrelinom ubije svaki život u njoj. Nova stabla do danas nisu posađena.

Zbog svega toga sudbina juića na Poljani ne čini se veselom. Tanka debla i kržljave krošnje s lišćem koje bi se moglo na prste izbrojiti, u ovim ljetnim vrućinama, stabla koja su trebala biti ukras Poljane jedva preživljavaju. Imaju sve više suhog lišća, a i grančice na vrhu krošnje polako se suše.
Kada bi ih barem počeli redovito zalijevali, možda bi se i oporavili, a Šibenčani konačno dobili osvježavajući hlad i malo zelene boje da se na Poljani lakše gleda kada usred ljetne jare počne blješti njezinio kameno popločenje.
Jasno je da ovaj vapaj treba doći do ušiju odgovornih u Zelenom gradu. Ipak, govorimo to s pomalo straha: kada se brinu i održavaju drveće u gradu, u Zelenom gradu uvijek ponesu motornu pilu!

Šibenik očito ne voli svoje drveće. Ne voli tako ni svoje judiće, ili kako se još zove Judino drvo, na Poljani, koji eto, u tri godine od kada su tu posađeni i od kada je u lipnju 2020. godine svečano otvoren preuređeni središnji gradski trg, stoje jadni i žalosni onako kako su i posađeni.
Sve te godine, naime, nisu uspjeli narasti gotovo ni centimetar. Njihove krošnje koje su, uz postojeća sjenila, klupama ispod njih trebale praviti hlad i ugodu svim koji tu zastanu i sjednu, samo što se ne osuše! Kao donedavno i onaj nesretni oleandar koji raste na Starom pazaru u najskupljem pitaru u Hrvatskoj. Oleandar se škapulao u zadnji tren, jer su u Zelenom gradu, komunalnoj tvrtki koja se brine za zelenilo i javne površine u gradu, shvatili, možda i zbog našeg pisanja, da ga ipak treba povremeno i zaliti. Hoće li spas doći i za i pet tanušnih judića na Poljani?

Iako smo dobrano zagazili u 21. stoljeće i na svakom kantunu sustižu nas posljedice evidentnih klimatskih promjena, a u priči o mogućem spasu planeta drveće i šume imaju neopisivo značajnu ulogu, Šibenik, gradska uprava i mjerodavna poduzeća ponašaju se kao da ih se te klimatske prijetnje uopće ne tiču. Čak i kada ptice na grani već znaju da drveće i šume stvaraju kisik, apsorbiraju staklenički plin - ugljikov dioksid, čuvaju ozonski omotač... Čak i kada znanstvenici upozoravaju kolika je dobrobit drveća u gradovima u snižavanju ljetnih žega koje postaju sve ekstremnije. Naime, u gradovima s puno zelenila i drveća, temperatura zraka ljeti može biti niža i za nekoliko stupnjeva!
Da tvrdnja o nemaru mjerodavnih prema zelenilu u Šibeniku nije pretjerana dovoljno govori pogled na borove šume oko šibenskih tvrđava i na Šubićevcu: u toliko su katastrofalnom stanju, neodržavane, poharane požarima i potkornjacima, da se broj stabala iz godine u godinu drastično smanjuje. Rijetki su petci kada se posadi novo stablo, a i to se događa uglavnom ako se na tom mjestu zbog građevinskih ili nekih drugih zahvata dotadašnje drveće posjeklo. Sjetimo se samo nesretne pitospore na dnu stubišta koja je platila glavom, tj. korijenjem, zbog jednog panoa. Nedavni primjer, nasumice izabran, su i deseci borova, česmina i čepresa posađenih prošle godine po obnovljenoj Tvrđavi sv. Ivana. Uvenuli su ekspresnom brzinom, jer ih nitko nije zalijevao, unatoč suhom i vrelom ljetu koje je uslijedilo. Preživjelo je tek nekoliko stabala, a nakon što je sasušeno drveće izvađeno, ostala je gola zemlja prepuštena vjetru da je raznosi i suncu da vrelinom ubije svaki život u njoj. Nova stabla do danas nisu posađena.

Zbog svega toga sudbina juića na Poljani ne čini se veselom. Tanka debla i kržljave krošnje s lišćem koje bi se moglo na prste izbrojiti, u ovim ljetnim vrućinama, stabla koja su trebala biti ukras Poljane jedva preživljavaju. Imaju sve više suhog lišća, a i grančice na vrhu krošnje polako se suše.
Kada bi ih barem počeli redovito zalijevali, možda bi se i oporavili, a Šibenčani konačno dobili osvježavajući hlad i malo zelene boje da se na Poljani lakše gleda kada usred ljetne jare počne blješti njezinio kameno popločenje.
Jasno je da ovaj vapaj treba doći do ušiju odgovornih u Zelenom gradu. Ipak, govorimo to s pomalo straha: kada se brinu i održavaju drveće u gradu, u Zelenom gradu uvijek ponesu motornu pilu!
