Glavni gradski trg i šetalište u Šibeniku, još je u 15. stoljeću opisao humanist Juraj Šižgorić, a takav je ostao do danas, kad je i u ove dane adventa postao klizalištem, okupan tisućama svjetala predbožićnog ugođaja.

Nakon što je kroz stoljeća i u novije doba doživjela tolike mijene, obnova šibenske Poljane i njezin “redizajn” kojim je dobila novi izgled i vizure, može se reći da je ona “tu”. Na nov način.

Iako je nemali broj onih koji bi željeli da je ostala netaknuta, kako je bila ranije na rubu povijesne jezgre grada. Umjesto toga, na Poljani je prevladala suvremena arhitektura s pokrovima koji “korespondiraju” s krovištem Gradske knjižnice arhitekta Ivana Vitića i instalacijama reklama.

’Ka priko pustinje’

Iz doba između dva svjetska rata ostala je priča kako su se negdje usred vrućega dana susrele dvije Šibenke. Jedna će reći drugoj: “Ajme moja Anđelija, bila san ti kod svoje sestre, pa onda natrag. A priko Poljane, ka priko pustinje”.

Zadržala se ta misao i kasnije, a kratki dijalog ušao je i u šibensku kazališnu komediju “Ni u moru mire, ni u jubavi vire” Branka Matića. Naposljetku, Poljana je u novije doba s rijetkim šetačima, biciklima dječaka, romobilima, psima na uzici i kolicima s malim bebama.

Ali, studen je to potisnula. U ove dane gotovo ništa na njoj od toga nema. I na klupicama za odmor, rijetko će tko doći sjesti. Trešti glazba mladih klizača.

Poljana devedesetih kao veliko parkiralište

Inače, nije lako nabrojiti čemu je sve služio taj trg kroz povijest grada. Kako smo u uvodu spomenuli, opisao ga je još u 15. stoljeću humanist i biskup Juraj Šižgorić u svome djelu “O položaju Ilirije i grada Šibenika” nazvavši ga pučkim šetalištem na svježem zraku, pogodnim i za konjske trke.

Ali, u kasnijim razdobljima na tom su se mjestu zbivali i neki dramatični događaji. U vrijeme francuske okupacije, poslije pada stoljetne vlasti Venecije, služila ja Poljana čak i za odmazde i pogubljenja građana koji su se protivili okupaciji Dalmacije.

A u doba talijanske fašističke okupacije, sve do rujna 1943. kad je Italija kapitulirala, neprijateljski vojnici davali su prisilno ricinusovo ulje onima koji nisu htjeli dizali ruke fašističkim pozdravom “romanamente” kad se ondje podizala talijanska zastava. Bio je to vid mučenja.

Vraćen šetačima

Godinama nakon Drugog svjetskog rata Poljana je bila masovno šetalište građana svih uzrasta. Svaka je skupina imala svoj đir i prostor. Gospoda, studenti, vojnici, sluškinje... I pod redom stabala na rubu trga – šibenske cure s momcima.

Donosimo dvije fotografije iz prošlosti Poljane da se vidi kako je izgledala šezdesetih godina i potom devedesetih kao parkiralište, kad se njome jedva moglo hodati. Ali je tadašnja šibenska gradonačelnica Neda Klarić rekla – stop!

Otad će proći dosta vremena dok vozila nisu otišla u podzemlje, u novu trokatnu garažu, a trg iznad nje nije ponovno vraćen šetačima.

Glavni gradski trg i šetalište u Šibeniku, još je u 15. stoljeću opisao humanist Juraj Šižgorić, a takav je ostao do danas, kad je i u ove dane adventa postao klizalištem, okupan tisućama svjetala predbožićnog ugođaja.

Nakon što je kroz stoljeća i u novije doba doživjela tolike mijene, obnova šibenske Poljane i njezin “redizajn” kojim je dobila novi izgled i vizure, može se reći da je ona “tu”. Na nov način.

Iako je nemali broj onih koji bi željeli da je ostala netaknuta, kako je bila ranije na rubu povijesne jezgre grada. Umjesto toga, na Poljani je prevladala suvremena arhitektura s pokrovima koji “korespondiraju” s krovištem Gradske knjižnice arhitekta Ivana Vitića i instalacijama reklama.

’Ka priko pustinje’

Iz doba između dva svjetska rata ostala je priča kako su se negdje usred vrućega dana susrele dvije Šibenke. Jedna će reći drugoj: “Ajme moja Anđelija, bila san ti kod svoje sestre, pa onda natrag. A priko Poljane, ka priko pustinje”.

Zadržala se ta misao i kasnije, a kratki dijalog ušao je i u šibensku kazališnu komediju “Ni u moru mire, ni u jubavi vire” Branka Matića. Naposljetku, Poljana je u novije doba s rijetkim šetačima, biciklima dječaka, romobilima, psima na uzici i kolicima s malim bebama.

Ali, studen je to potisnula. U ove dane gotovo ništa na njoj od toga nema. I na klupicama za odmor, rijetko će tko doći sjesti. Trešti glazba mladih klizača.

Inače, nije lako nabrojiti čemu je sve služio taj trg kroz povijest grada. Kako smo u uvodu spomenuli, opisao ga je još u 15. stoljeću humanist i biskup Juraj Šižgorić u svome djelu “O položaju Ilirije i grada Šibenika” nazvavši ga pučkim šetalištem na svježem zraku, pogodnim i za konjske trke.

Ali, u kasnijim razdobljima na tom su se mjestu zbivali i neki dramatični događaji. U vrijeme francuske okupacije, poslije pada stoljetne vlasti Venecije, služila ja Poljana čak i za odmazde i pogubljenja građana koji su se protivili okupaciji Dalmacije.

A u doba talijanske fašističke okupacije, sve do rujna 1943. kad je Italija kapitulirala, neprijateljski vojnici davali su prisilno ricinusovo ulje onima koji nisu htjeli dizali ruke fašističkim pozdravom “romanamente” kad se ondje podizala talijanska zastava. Bio je to vid mučenja.

Vraćen šetačima

Godinama nakon Drugog svjetskog rata Poljana je bila masovno šetalište građana svih uzrasta. Svaka je skupina imala svoj đir i prostor. Gospoda, studenti, vojnici, sluškinje... I pod redom stabala na rubu trga – šibenske cure s momcima.

Donosimo dvije fotografije iz prošlosti Poljane da se vidi kako je izgledala šezdesetih godina i potom devedesetih kao parkiralište, kad se njome jedva moglo hodati. Ali je tadašnja šibenska gradonačelnica Neda Klarić rekla – stop!

Otad će proći dosta vremena dok vozila nisu otišla u podzemlje, u novu trokatnu garažu, a trg iznad nje nije ponovno vraćen šetačima.
