Sportaši sudionici Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju trebali bi imati pravo na prosvjed  s "poštovanjem", ocijenio je u četvrtak predsjednik Međunarone atletske federacije Sebastian Coe.

Ova je tema postala aktualna nakon što su u SAD-u izbii masovni prosvjedi poslije smrti Afroamerikanca Georgea Floyda kojeg je ubio bijeli policajac.

"Jasno sam rekao da, ako neki sportaš želi kleknuti (u znak prosvjeda protiv rasne nejednakosti), on ima svu moju potporu", kazao je Coe prilikom inspekcije nacionalnog olimpijskog stadiona u Tokiju.

"Sportaši žele biti odraz svijeta u kojme žive", dodao je.

"Za mene je to prihvatljivo dok god sadrži i poštovanje prema drugim natjecateljima i ja mislim da većina sportaša to razumije".

Međunarodni olimpijski odbor (MOO) je u siječnju odredo pravila za ponašanje sportaša zabranivši bilo kakav oblik iskazivanja stajališta na pobjedničkim postoljima ili sportskim terenima.

Međutim, MOO je dao nasluiti da je spreman omekšati svoje stajalište i podržava pregovore koje vodi Povjerenstvo olimpijskih sportaša s ciljem odobravanja "dostojanstvenih" akcija protiv rasizma.

U lipnju su američki sportaši i ikona OI u Meksiku 1968. John Carlos, koji je tada bio isključen jer jer je u zrak dignuo šaku u znak prosvjeda protiv segregacije, pozvali MOO da ukine pravila kojima se zabranjuje sportašima da iskazuju svoja politička, vjerska ili rasna uvjerenja za vrijeme Igara.

Sportaši sudionici Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju trebali bi imati pravo na prosvjed  s "poštovanjem", ocijenio je u četvrtak predsjednik Međunarone atletske federacije Sebastian Coe.

Ova je tema postala aktualna nakon što su u SAD-u izbii masovni prosvjedi poslije smrti Afroamerikanca Georgea Floyda kojeg je ubio bijeli policajac.

"Jasno sam rekao da, ako neki sportaš želi kleknuti (u znak prosvjeda protiv rasne nejednakosti), on ima svu moju potporu", kazao je Coe prilikom inspekcije nacionalnog olimpijskog stadiona u Tokiju.

"Sportaši žele biti odraz svijeta u kojme žive", dodao je.

"Za mene je to prihvatljivo dok god sadrži i poštovanje prema drugim natjecateljima i ja mislim da većina sportaša to razumije".

Međunarodni olimpijski odbor (MOO) je u siječnju odredo pravila za ponašanje sportaša zabranivši bilo kakav oblik iskazivanja stajališta na pobjedničkim postoljima ili sportskim terenima.

Međutim, MOO je dao nasluiti da je spreman omekšati svoje stajalište i podržava pregovore koje vodi Povjerenstvo olimpijskih sportaša s ciljem odobravanja "dostojanstvenih" akcija protiv rasizma.

U lipnju su američki sportaši i ikona OI u Meksiku 1968. John Carlos, koji je tada bio isključen jer jer je u zrak dignuo šaku u znak prosvjeda protiv segregacije, pozvali MOO da ukine pravila kojima se zabranjuje sportašima da iskazuju svoja politička, vjerska ili rasna uvjerenja za vrijeme Igara.

Sportaši sudionici Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju trebali bi imati pravo na prosvjed  s "poštovanjem", ocijenio je u četvrtak predsjednik Međunarone atletske federacije Sebastian Coe.

Ova je tema postala aktualna nakon što su u SAD-u izbii masovni prosvjedi poslije smrti Afroamerikanca Georgea Floyda kojeg je ubio bijeli policajac.

"Jasno sam rekao da, ako neki sportaš želi kleknuti (u znak prosvjeda protiv rasne nejednakosti), on ima svu moju potporu", kazao je Coe prilikom inspekcije nacionalnog olimpijskog stadiona u Tokiju.

"Sportaši žele biti odraz svijeta u kojme žive", dodao je.

"Za mene je to prihvatljivo dok god sadrži i poštovanje prema drugim natjecateljima i ja mislim da većina sportaša to razumije".
