Nova sezona svjetskog prvenstva formule 1 otvorena je sjajnom Velikom nagradom Austrije na stazi u Spielbergu i pobjedom Finca Valtterija Bottasa u Mercedesu, dok je aktualni svjetski prvak Britanac Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) osvojio četvrto mjesto.

Bila je to iznimno zanimljiva utrka s tri izlaska "safety cara", te nizom izlijetanja i odustajanja. 

Bottas je imao najbolju startnu poziciju i nije ispuštao vodstvo od prvog do posljednjeg zavoja osvojivši osmu pobjedu u karijeri.

Aktualni svjetski prvak Lewis Hamilton je u kvalifikacijama zauzeo drugo mjesto, ali je startao s petog mjesta nakon žalbe Red Bulla da nije usporio na obavezne oznake upozorenja u kvalifikacijama.

Međunarodna automobilska federacija (FIA) je sinoć analizirala situaciju i donijela odluku da nema potrebe za Hamiltonovom kaznom. Međutim, Red Bull je tražio novu analizu nakon koje je Britanac kažnjen padom za tri mjesta, dakle na petu startnu poziciju.

Britanac se odličnom vožnjom vrlo brzo probio na drugo mjesto, no 10 krugova prije kraja dogodio se jedan od ključnih trenutaka. Alexander Albon je u Red Bullu s vanjske strane napao Hamiltona i kada se već činilo kako će ga preteći, Hamilton je prednjim kotačem zakačio zadnji kotač Albonova bolida. Tajlanđanin se izvrtio završivši izvan staze, dok je Hamilton projurio naprijed, ali je naknadno kažnjen s pet sekundi.

Hamiltonova kazna je omogućila Bottasu mirnu završnicu, te otvorila put Charlesu Leclercu (Ferrari), Sergiu Perezu (Racing Point), te Landu Norrisu (McLaren) za plasman na postolje.

Na koncu je Leclerc zauzeo drugo mjesto, dok je Norris osvojio treću poziciju jer je i Perez dobio kaznu od pet sekundi zbog prekoračenja brzine u boksu.

Uoči početka utrke većina pilota je kleknula u znak podrške pokretu 'Black Lives Matter', međutim šestorica, među kojima su bili Max Verstappen i Charles Leclerc, nisu.

SP u formuli 1 trebalo je početi u ožujku u Australiji, ali je zbog izbijanja pandemije koronavirusa odgođeno za gotovo četiri mjeseca, a i broj utrka je smanjen sa 20 na za sada, samo osam. 

Sljedećeg tjedna će se također voziti u Spielbergu, slijede VN Mađarske (19. srpnja), VN Velike Britanije (2. i 9. kolovoza), VN Španjolske (16. kolovoza), VN Belgije (30. kolovoza) i VN Italije (6. rujna).

Nova sezona svjetskog prvenstva formule 1 otvorena je sjajnom Velikom nagradom Austrije na stazi u Spielbergu i pobjedom Finca Valtterija Bottasa u Mercedesu, dok je aktualni svjetski prvak Britanac Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) osvojio četvrto mjesto.

Bila je to iznimno zanimljiva utrka s tri izlaska "safety cara", te nizom izlijetanja i odustajanja. 

Bottas je imao najbolju startnu poziciju i nije ispuštao vodstvo od prvog do posljednjeg zavoja osvojivši osmu pobjedu u karijeri.

Aktualni svjetski prvak Lewis Hamilton je u kvalifikacijama zauzeo drugo mjesto, ali je startao s petog mjesta nakon žalbe Red Bulla da nije usporio na obavezne oznake upozorenja u kvalifikacijama.

Međunarodna automobilska federacija (FIA) je sinoć analizirala situaciju i donijela odluku da nema potrebe za Hamiltonovom kaznom. Međutim, Red Bull je tražio novu analizu nakon koje je Britanac kažnjen padom za tri mjesta, dakle na petu startnu poziciju.

Britanac se odličnom vožnjom vrlo brzo probio na drugo mjesto, no 10 krugova prije kraja dogodio se jedan od ključnih trenutaka. Alexander Albon je u Red Bullu s vanjske strane napao Hamiltona i kada se već činilo kako će ga preteći, Hamilton je prednjim kotačem zakačio zadnji kotač Albonova bolida. Tajlanđanin se izvrtio završivši izvan staze, dok je Hamilton projurio naprijed, ali je naknadno kažnjen s pet sekundi.

Hamiltonova kazna je omogućila Bottasu mirnu završnicu, te otvorila put Charlesu Leclercu (Ferrari), Sergiu Perezu (Racing Point), te Landu Norrisu (McLaren) za plasman na postolje.

Na koncu je Leclerc zauzeo drugo mjesto, dok je Norris osvojio treću poziciju jer je i Perez dobio kaznu od pet sekundi zbog prekoračenja brzine u boksu.

Uoči početka utrke većina pilota je kleknula u znak podrške pokretu 'Black Lives Matter', međutim šestorica, među kojima su bili Max Verstappen i Charles Leclerc, nisu.

SP u formuli 1 trebalo je početi u ožujku u Australiji, ali je zbog izbijanja pandemije koronavirusa odgođeno za gotovo četiri mjeseca, a i broj utrka je smanjen sa 20 na za sada, samo osam. 

Sljedećeg tjedna će se također voziti u Spielbergu, slijede VN Mađarske (19. srpnja), VN Velike Britanije (2. i 9. kolovoza), VN Španjolske (16. kolovoza), VN Belgije (30. kolovoza) i VN Italije (6. rujna).

Valtteri Bottas pobijedio u prvoj utrci nove sezone Formule 1, Hamilton četvrti

Nova sezona svjetskog prvenstva formule 1 otvorena je sjajnom Velikom nagradom Austrije na stazi u Spielbergu i pobjedom Finca Valtterija Bottasa u Mercedesu, dok je aktualni svjetski prvak Britanac Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) osvojio četvrto mjesto.

Bila je to iznimno zanimljiva utrka s tri izlaska "safety cara", te nizom izlijetanja i odustajanja. 

Bottas je imao najbolju startnu poziciju i nije ispuštao vodstvo od prvog do posljednjeg zavoja osvojivši osmu pobjedu u karijeri.

Aktualni svjetski prvak Lewis Hamilton je u kvalifikacijama zauzeo drugo mjesto, ali je startao s petog mjesta nakon žalbe Red Bulla da nije usporio na obavezne oznake upozorenja u kvalifikacijama.
