U posljednjih desetak dana vidljiv je trend porasta broja pozitivnih osoba na COVID-19. Prof. dr. Bojan Polić sa Zavoda za histologiju i embriologiju Medicinskog fakulteta u Rijeci, za Novi list kaže da je porast broja oboljelih posljedica više čimbenika.

– To su čimbenici poput popuštanja epidemioloških mjera i nekonzistentnosti njihove provedbe, veće opuštenosti ljudi i nepridržavanja osnovnih epidemioloških mjera, cirkulacije zaraznijih varijanti virusa, preuranjenog prelaska na nastavu uživo u osnovnim i srednjim školama, zastoj u dinamici cijepljenja i slično. S obzirom da najveći dio populacije, njih 75 do 80 posto, još uvijek nije došao u kontakt s virusom i/ili nije stekao zaštitnu imunost, bojim se da nam predstoji još jedan val epidemije koji bi mogao dosegnuti vrhunac u travnju. Možda on ipak neće biti tolikog intenziteta kao prethodni, no ipak bi mogao imati nepovoljne zdravstvene i ekonomske posljedice.

Znači li to da će se i turistička sezona naći pod znakom pitanja?

– Ukoliko se dogodi novi val epidemije, to bi moglo imati prilično negativne posljedice na razvoj turističke sezone. Treba imati na umu da su za smirivanje vala epidemije potrebne restriktivnije epidemiološke mjere i vrijeme. To najbolje vidimo na primjeru prethodnog vala koji je imao vrhunac u prosincu prošle godine i tek smo prije nekoliko tjedana došli do broja novooboljelih koji ne opterećuje znatnije zdravstveni sustav i koji je omogućio popuštanje mjera. Ukoliko nam se dogodi novi val u ožujku, travnju, onda će nam trebati jedan do dva mjeseca za njegovo smirivanje uz uvođenje restriktivnijih mjera. To bi nas moglo dovesti na crne ili crvene liste brojnih zemalja iz kojih nam dolaze turisti, što bi se sigurno nepovoljno odrazilo na predstojeću sezonu i ekonomsku situaciju u zemlji. Nadam se da se taj scenarij ipak neće dogoditi.

Precizniji plan cijepljenja

Ako nemamo restriktivne mjere, kako izbjeći takav scenarij?

– U prvom redu potrebno je konzistentno i striktno provoditi epidemiološke mjere te nastojati čim prije procijepiti najugroženiju skupinu stanovništva, a to su stariji od 55 godina i kronični bolesnici. To bi značilo da do kraja drugog kvartala, odnosno do kraja lipnja, imamo cijepljeno 25 do 30 posto stanovništva, odnosno 1 do 1,3 milijuna ljudi, što je ostvarljiv cilj. Prema najavama proizvođača odobrenih cjepiva u EU-u, ali isto tako i odobravanjem nekih novih, poput Johnson & Johnson, Curevac i drugih, mislim da bismo mogli imati dovoljan broj doza za navedeni cilj. Tome treba pribrojiti i 20 do 25 posto onih koji su stekli ili će steći zaštitni imunitet nakon infekcije virusom, što bi nas dovelo do brojke od oko 50 posto imunog stanovništva do ljeta.

No, u ovom trenutku je još važnije striktno i konzistentno pridržavanje epidemioloških mjera kako bismo prevenirali ili umanjili novi val epidemije prije ljeta. Zbog nepovoljne dinamike isporuke cjepiva u prvom kvartalu, mi već sada kasnimo sa cijepljenjem stanovništva. Tome treba pridodati vrijeme od najmanje 3 do 4 tjedna od prve doze cjepiva koje je potrebno da bi se stekao kakav-takav imunitet na infekciju. Stoga efekti cijepljenja koje je postalo nešto masovnije tek u proteklom tjednu neće biti dovoljni za prevenciju novog vala. Razumijem da je ljudima već teško podnositi ovako dugo razdoblje bez ili uz ograničene socijalne kontakte, no mislim da moramo svi skupa još neko vrijeme izdržati jer svako opuštanje i nepridržavanje osnovnih epidemioloških mjera u uvjetima kada su u populaciji dokazano prisutne zaraznije varijante virusa vrlo vjerojatno vodi u novi val epidemije - kazao je prof. dr. Bojan Polić .

U posljednjih desetak dana vidljiv je trend porasta broja pozitivnih osoba na COVID-19. Prof. dr. Bojan Polić sa Zavoda za histologiju i embriologiju Medicinskog fakulteta u Rijeci, za Novi list kaže da je porast broja oboljelih posljedica više čimbenika.

– To su čimbenici poput popuštanja epidemioloških mjera i nekonzistentnosti njihove provedbe, veće opuštenosti ljudi i nepridržavanja osnovnih epidemioloških mjera, cirkulacije zaraznijih varijanti virusa, preuranjenog prelaska na nastavu uživo u osnovnim i srednjim školama, zastoj u dinamici cijepljenja i slično. S obzirom da najveći dio populacije, njih 75 do 80 posto, još uvijek nije došao u kontakt s virusom i/ili nije stekao zaštitnu imunost, bojim se da nam predstoji još jedan val epidemije koji bi mogao dosegnuti vrhunac u travnju. Možda on ipak neće biti tolikog intenziteta kao prethodni, no ipak bi mogao imati nepovoljne zdravstvene i ekonomske posljedice.

Znači li to da će se i turistička sezona naći pod znakom pitanja?

– Ukoliko se dogodi novi val epidemije, to bi moglo imati prilično negativne posljedice na razvoj turističke sezone. Treba imati na umu da su za smirivanje vala epidemije potrebne restriktivnije epidemiološke mjere i vrijeme. To najbolje vidimo na primjeru prethodnog vala koji je imao vrhunac u prosincu prošle godine i tek smo prije nekoliko tjedana došli do broja novooboljelih koji ne opterećuje znatnije zdravstveni sustav i koji je omogućio popuštanje mjera. Ukoliko nam se dogodi novi val u ožujku, travnju, onda će nam trebati jedan do dva mjeseca za njegovo smirivanje uz uvođenje restriktivnijih mjera. To bi nas moglo dovesti na crne ili crvene liste brojnih zemalja iz kojih nam dolaze turisti, što bi se sigurno nepovoljno odrazilo na predstojeću sezonu i ekonomsku situaciju u zemlji. Nadam se da se taj scenarij ipak neće dogoditi.

Precizniji plan cijepljenja

Ako nemamo restriktivne mjere, kako izbjeći takav scenarij?

– U prvom redu potrebno je konzistentno i striktno provoditi epidemiološke mjere te nastojati čim prije procijepiti najugroženiju skupinu stanovništva, a to su stariji od 55 godina i kronični bolesnici. To bi značilo da do kraja drugog kvartala, odnosno do kraja lipnja, imamo cijepljeno 25 do 30 posto stanovništva, odnosno 1 do 1,3 milijuna ljudi, što je ostvarljiv cilj. Prema najavama proizvođača odobrenih cjepiva u EU-u, ali isto tako i odobravanjem nekih novih, poput Johnson & Johnson, Curevac i drugih, mislim da bismo mogli imati dovoljan broj doza za navedeni cilj. Tome treba pribrojiti i 20 do 25 posto onih koji su stekli ili će steći zaštitni imunitet nakon infekcije virusom, što bi nas dovelo do brojke od oko 50 posto imunog stanovništva do ljeta.

No, u ovom trenutku je još važnije striktno i konzistentno pridržavanje epidemioloških mjera kako bismo prevenirali ili umanjili novi val epidemije prije ljeta. Zbog nepovoljne dinamike isporuke cjepiva u prvom kvartalu, mi već sada kasnimo sa cijepljenjem stanovništva. Tome treba pridodati vrijeme od najmanje 3 do 4 tjedna od prve doze cjepiva koje je potrebno da bi se stekao kakav-takav imunitet na infekciju. Stoga efekti cijepljenja koje je postalo nešto masovnije tek u proteklom tjednu neće biti dovoljni za prevenciju novog vala. Razumijem da je ljudima već teško podnositi ovako dugo razdoblje bez ili uz ograničene socijalne kontakte, no mislim da moramo svi skupa još neko vrijeme izdržati jer svako opuštanje i nepridržavanje osnovnih epidemioloških mjera u uvjetima kada su u populaciji dokazano prisutne zaraznije varijante virusa vrlo vjerojatno vodi u novi val epidemije - kazao je prof. dr. Bojan Polić .

U posljednjih desetak dana vidljiv je trend porasta broja pozitivnih osoba na COVID-19. Prof. dr. Bojan Polić sa Zavoda za histologiju i embriologiju Medicinskog fakulteta u Rijeci, za Novi list kaže da je porast broja oboljelih posljedica više čimbenika.
