U tjednu koji je prethodio izborima u SDP-u, nitko nije očekivao da će na njima pobijediti Peđa Grbin. Svi, ali doista svi utjecajni SDP-ovci – bez obzira jesu li navijali za stasitog Istranina ili su agitirali za nekog od njegovih kandidata - bili su uvjereni da će krapinsko-zagorski župan Željko Kolar biti pobjednik prvog kruga izbora.

A onda je došla izborna večer koja je pokazala da je Grbin, zapravo, rasturio. I da je – da mu glasove sa svojom kandidaturom nije uzeo Ranko Ostojić - bio na korak od pobjede u već prvom krugu.

Nekoliko je stvari bilo ključno za ovakav rasplet. Bernardićev tabor se nakon potopa na parlamentarnim izborima potpuno raspao. Razbijena vojska nije uspjela iznjedriti snažnog kandidata; još je manje djelovala sinhronizirano lobirajući čas za Željka Kolara, čas za mladu Mirelu Ahmetović.

Osim toga jedna činjenica je neosporno išla u prilog Peđi Grbinu: on je, za razliku od Kolara, politički kapitalac kojega SDP-ovci – slagali se s njim ili ne – doista mogu zamisliti u ulozi predsjednika najjače oporbene stranke koji kao političar može parirati Andreju Plenkoviću i u Saboru, i na parlamentarnim izborima.

S druge pak strane, Grbinov glavni protukandidat Kolar, koji je u stranci otprije poznat kao umjereni kritičar Bernardićeve politike, propustio je oko sebe okupiti pripadnike obaju najjačih stranačkih klanova. I pozicionirati se kao osoba koja će stranku izmučenu 13 godina dugim unutarstranačkim ratovima doista ujediniti. Umjesto toga, on se okružio uglavnom Bernardićevim ljudima.

Oni su mu osigurali podršku dijela terena, ali i ograničili  prostor za njegov daljnji rast. Uz to, Kolar je platio visoku cijenu svoje anonimnosti. I Grbin i Ostojić su široj SDP-ovoj javnosti daleko poznatiji igrači. Kolar je vješto izbjegao pitanja o nedostatku formalnog obrazovanja. Krapinsko-zagorski župan, naime, ima završenu samo srednju školu, pa je zato i u optjecaj pustio formulu po kojoj on ne bi nužno morao biti premijerski kandidat socijaldemokrata. I pokazao spremnost da tu ulogu prepusti nekom poznatijem SDP-ovcu.

Osim što ima širom otvorena vrata za pobjedu u drugom krugu, Grbinu još jedna činjenica uvelike olakšava posao. Ako iduće subote postane predsjednik SDP-a, Grbin će u vrhu stranke biti okružen sebi lojalnim ljudima. SDP-ovci iz njegove struje na ovim su izborima odnijeli prevagu pred ljudima koje je „gurao“ Kolar. Mjesto u predsjedništvu izborili su Biljana Borzan, Sabina Glasovac, Ranko OStojić, Siniša Hajdaš Dončić, Željko Jovanović, Mihael Zmajlović, Kristina Ikić Baniček, Sara Medved, Mišo Krstičević… Od 17 članova Predsjedništva, Grbinu bliskim ljudima je pripalo najmanje 12 mjesta, što mu daje odriješene ruke da nesmetano vodi stranku u smjeru koji procjeni da je najbolji za SDP.

Od ljudi iz Bernardićeve struje u Predsjedništvo je ušla tek nekolicina: među njima i Predrag Matić, Romana Jerković te Željko Sabo. 

Ono što, međutim, ne ulijeva nadu da će se u SDP-u stvari krenuti nabolje jest činjenica da se najjačoj oporbenoj stranci još uvijek nije dogodio otklon od prakse da jedan stranački klan nakon poraza na parlamentarnim izborima na pozicijama u SDP-u zamjeni drugi stranački klan.

Među ljudima u novom sastavu Predsjedništva SDP-a premalo je ljudi koji u dosadašnjim stranačkim ratovima nisu, figurativno govoreći, „okrvavili ruke“. Uz iznimku Ivana Račana, Miše Krstičevića, Sare Medved i možda još ponekog člana, u Predsjedništvu praktički nema nikog tko nije sudjelovao u okršajima sa suprotnom strujom, izbacivanju neistomišljenika iz SDP-a, protežiranju pripadnika svojeg i gaženju protivničkog klana.

Uz to, riječ je o dužnosnicima koji su izravno odgovorni za dva od tri posljednja izborna poraza. Onih iz 2015. i 2016. godine, kada su upravo oni zauzimali istaknuta mjesta u tadašnjem SDP-ovom Predsjedništvu. Priliku nisu dobila nova lica, neopterećena podjelama i spremna gledati prema budućnosti, ne prema prošlosti. Nego stari kadrovi koji tek trebaju dokazati da su spremni napraviti nove iskorake.

U tjednu koji je prethodio izborima u SDP-u, nitko nije očekivao da će na njima pobijediti Peđa Grbin. Svi, ali doista svi utjecajni SDP-ovci – bez obzira jesu li navijali za stasitog Istranina ili su agitirali za nekog od njegovih kandidata - bili su uvjereni da će krapinsko-zagorski župan Željko Kolar biti pobjednik prvog kruga izbora.

A onda je došla izborna večer koja je pokazala da je Grbin, zapravo, rasturio. I da je – da mu glasove sa svojom kandidaturom nije uzeo Ranko Ostojić - bio na korak od pobjede u već prvom krugu.

Nekoliko je stvari bilo ključno za ovakav rasplet. Bernardićev tabor se nakon potopa na parlamentarnim izborima potpuno raspao. Razbijena vojska nije uspjela iznjedriti snažnog kandidata; još je manje djelovala sinhronizirano lobirajući čas za Željka Kolara, čas za mladu Mirelu Ahmetović.

Osim toga jedna činjenica je neosporno išla u prilog Peđi Grbinu: on je, za razliku od Kolara, politički kapitalac kojega SDP-ovci – slagali se s njim ili ne – doista mogu zamisliti u ulozi predsjednika najjače oporbene stranke koji kao političar može parirati Andreju Plenkoviću i u Saboru, i na parlamentarnim izborima.

S druge pak strane, Grbinov glavni protukandidat Kolar, koji je u stranci otprije poznat kao umjereni kritičar Bernardićeve politike, propustio je oko sebe okupiti pripadnike obaju najjačih stranačkih klanova. I pozicionirati se kao osoba koja će stranku izmučenu 13 godina dugim unutarstranačkim ratovima doista ujediniti. Umjesto toga, on se okružio uglavnom Bernardićevim ljudima.

Oni su mu osigurali podršku dijela terena, ali i ograničili  prostor za njegov daljnji rast. Uz to, Kolar je platio visoku cijenu svoje anonimnosti. I Grbin i Ostojić su široj SDP-ovoj javnosti daleko poznatiji igrači. Kolar je vješto izbjegao pitanja o nedostatku formalnog obrazovanja. Krapinsko-zagorski župan, naime, ima završenu samo srednju školu, pa je zato i u optjecaj pustio formulu po kojoj on ne bi nužno morao biti premijerski kandidat socijaldemokrata. I pokazao spremnost da tu ulogu prepusti nekom poznatijem SDP-ovcu.

Osim što ima širom otvorena vrata za pobjedu u drugom krugu, Grbinu još jedna činjenica uvelike olakšava posao. Ako iduće subote postane predsjednik SDP-a, Grbin će u vrhu stranke biti okružen sebi lojalnim ljudima. SDP-ovci iz njegove struje na ovim su izborima odnijeli prevagu pred ljudima koje je „gurao“ Kolar. Mjesto u predsjedništvu izborili su Biljana Borzan, Sabina Glasovac, Ranko OStojić, Siniša Hajdaš Dončić, Željko Jovanović, Mihael Zmajlović, Kristina Ikić Baniček, Sara Medved, Mišo Krstičević… Od 17 članova Predsjedništva, Grbinu bliskim ljudima je pripalo najmanje 12 mjesta, što mu daje odriješene ruke da nesmetano vodi stranku u smjeru koji procjeni da je najbolji za SDP.

Od ljudi iz Bernardićeve struje u Predsjedništvo je ušla tek nekolicina: među njima i Predrag Matić, Romana Jerković te Željko Sabo. 

Ono što, međutim, ne ulijeva nadu da će se u SDP-u stvari krenuti nabolje jest činjenica da se najjačoj oporbenoj stranci još uvijek nije dogodio otklon od prakse da jedan stranački klan nakon poraza na parlamentarnim izborima na pozicijama u SDP-u zamjeni drugi stranački klan.

Među ljudima u novom sastavu Predsjedništva SDP-a premalo je ljudi koji u dosadašnjim stranačkim ratovima nisu, figurativno govoreći, „okrvavili ruke“. Uz iznimku Ivana Račana, Miše Krstičevića, Sare Medved i možda još ponekog člana, u Predsjedništvu praktički nema nikog tko nije sudjelovao u okršajima sa suprotnom strujom, izbacivanju neistomišljenika iz SDP-a, protežiranju pripadnika svojeg i gaženju protivničkog klana.

Uz to, riječ je o dužnosnicima koji su izravno odgovorni za dva od tri posljednja izborna poraza. Onih iz 2015. i 2016. godine, kada su upravo oni zauzimali istaknuta mjesta u tadašnjem SDP-ovom Predsjedništvu. Priliku nisu dobila nova lica, neopterećena podjelama i spremna gledati prema budućnosti, ne prema prošlosti. Nego stari kadrovi koji tek trebaju dokazati da su spremni napraviti nove iskorake.

U tjednu koji je prethodio izborima u SDP-u, nitko nije očekivao da će na njima pobijediti Peđa Grbin. Svi, ali doista svi utjecajni SDP-ovci – bez obzira jesu li navijali za stasitog Istranina ili su agitirali za nekog od njegovih kandidata - bili su uvjereni da će krapinsko-zagorski župan Željko Kolar biti pobjednik prvog kruga izbora.

A onda je došla izborna večer koja je pokazala da je Grbin, zapravo, rasturio. I da je – da mu glasove sa svojom kandidaturom nije uzeo Ranko Ostojić - bio na korak od pobjede u već prvom krugu.
