Federalna uprava za zrakoplovstvo Sjedinjenih Američkih Država (FAA) razmatra potencijalne opasnosti od korištenja novog spektra za 5G mrežu, jer postoji strah da bi bazne stanice mogle ometati električne sustave letjelica, prenosi Smartlife.

Radi se o tome da su mrežni operatori spremni za primjenu C-band spektra za 5G, i to prije kraja 2021. godine.

FAA je izrazila veliku zabrinutost zbog potencijalnog utjecaja ove tehnologije na sigurnost u zrakoplovstvu, a Reuters piše da uprava namjerava izdati javno upozorenje.

Naime, postavlja se pitanje mogu li 5G operacije u C-opsegu izazvati smetnje u radu radarskih visinomjera, koji su vitalni za sigurnost tijekom leta, jer mjere udaljenost letjelice od tla.

Još uvijek nije do kraja jasno kada službene osobe namjeravaju izdati upozorenje, te kada bi nova pravila vezana za C-opseg mogla stupiti na snagu. Utjecaj na radarske visinomjere je ozbiljna stvar, budući da ovaj instrument služi i za detektiranje drugih aviona, ali i za slijetanje u kompleksnim vremenskim uvjetima, kada je smanjena vidljivost.

Wall Street Journal piše da postoji mogućnost da rad bežičnih tornjeva utječe na funkcioniranje instrumenata u avionima, ali Federalna komisija za komunikacije (FCC) ne dijeli istu zabrinutost. Naime, agencija koja je odgovorna za dodjelu frekvencija na tlu Sjedinjenih Američkih Država tvrdi da se nakon prošlogodišnje analize došlo do zaključka da 5G u C-opsegu neće imati štetan utjecaj na dobro dizajniranu zrakoplovnu opremu. Tako je 'providerima' otvoren put za korištenje novoga spektra.

Verizon i AT&T se nadaju da će C-opseg ubrzati procese koji su potrebni da 5G postane stvarnost. Do veljače 2021. godine potrošili su čak 70 milijardi dolara na to, ali sve do nedavno u obzir nisu uzimali probleme. Upozorenja Federalne uprave za zrakoplovstvo nisu nešto što se može zanemariti, budući da je utjecaj C-opsega na sustave za vođeno i automatsko slijetanje ozbiljna stvar.

Dakle, C-opseg ne znači da će avioni padati kao muhe, ali bi mogao utjecati na to da se letovi odgađaju tijekom loših vremenskih uvjeta, što bi izazvalo kaos. Piloti i avio-kompanije mogu letjeti ako dokažu da na visinomjere u njihovim avionima ne utječe novi C-opseg. Ipak, još se nijedna avio-kompanija nije izjasnila u vezi s ovim problemom, pa se ne zna hoće li odgađanja utjecati na buduće letove.

Verizon i AT&T su odlučili odgoditi lansiranje C-opsega do siječnja 2022. godine, kao i ograničiti moć 5G tornjeva šest mjeseci nakon toga. Tvrde da razloga za strah nema, ali FAA želi dodatne analize. Na kraju se ističe da C-band 5G i radio visinomjeri neće raditi na istoj frekvenciji, ali FAA tvrdi da su frekvencije previše blizu, te da je zbog toga neophodno razmišljati unaprijed.

Kao potencijalno rješenje nudi se filter koji bi visinomjerima omogućio precizno biranje frekvencije, ali stručnjaci tvrde da će proći godine dok se ne on ne provjeri i implementira u sve avione, piše Smartlife.

Federalna uprava za zrakoplovstvo Sjedinjenih Američkih Država (FAA) razmatra potencijalne opasnosti od korištenja novog spektra za 5G mrežu, jer postoji strah da bi bazne stanice mogle ometati električne sustave letjelica, prenosi Smartlife.

Radi se o tome da su mrežni operatori spremni za primjenu C-band spektra za 5G, i to prije kraja 2021. godine.

FAA je izrazila veliku zabrinutost zbog potencijalnog utjecaja ove tehnologije na sigurnost u zrakoplovstvu, a Reuters piše da uprava namjerava izdati javno upozorenje.

Naime, postavlja se pitanje mogu li 5G operacije u C-opsegu izazvati smetnje u radu radarskih visinomjera, koji su vitalni za sigurnost tijekom leta, jer mjere udaljenost letjelice od tla.

Još uvijek nije do kraja jasno kada službene osobe namjeravaju izdati upozorenje, te kada bi nova pravila vezana za C-opseg mogla stupiti na snagu. Utjecaj na radarske visinomjere je ozbiljna stvar, budući da ovaj instrument služi i za detektiranje drugih aviona, ali i za slijetanje u kompleksnim vremenskim uvjetima, kada je smanjena vidljivost.

Wall Street Journal piše da postoji mogućnost da rad bežičnih tornjeva utječe na funkcioniranje instrumenata u avionima, ali Federalna komisija za komunikacije (FCC) ne dijeli istu zabrinutost. Naime, agencija koja je odgovorna za dodjelu frekvencija na tlu Sjedinjenih Američkih Država tvrdi da se nakon prošlogodišnje analize došlo do zaključka da 5G u C-opsegu neće imati štetan utjecaj na dobro dizajniranu zrakoplovnu opremu. Tako je 'providerima' otvoren put za korištenje novoga spektra.

Verizon i AT&T se nadaju da će C-opseg ubrzati procese koji su potrebni da 5G postane stvarnost. Do veljače 2021. godine potrošili su čak 70 milijardi dolara na to, ali sve do nedavno u obzir nisu uzimali probleme. Upozorenja Federalne uprave za zrakoplovstvo nisu nešto što se može zanemariti, budući da je utjecaj C-opsega na sustave za vođeno i automatsko slijetanje ozbiljna stvar.

Dakle, C-opseg ne znači da će avioni padati kao muhe, ali bi mogao utjecati na to da se letovi odgađaju tijekom loših vremenskih uvjeta, što bi izazvalo kaos. Piloti i avio-kompanije mogu letjeti ako dokažu da na visinomjere u njihovim avionima ne utječe novi C-opseg. Ipak, još se nijedna avio-kompanija nije izjasnila u vezi s ovim problemom, pa se ne zna hoće li odgađanja utjecati na buduće letove.

Verizon i AT&T su odlučili odgoditi lansiranje C-opsega do siječnja 2022. godine, kao i ograničiti moć 5G tornjeva šest mjeseci nakon toga. Tvrde da razloga za strah nema, ali FAA želi dodatne analize. Na kraju se ističe da C-band 5G i radio visinomjeri neće raditi na istoj frekvenciji, ali FAA tvrdi da su frekvencije previše blizu, te da je zbog toga neophodno razmišljati unaprijed.

Federalna uprava za zrakoplovstvo Sjedinjenih Američkih Država (FAA) razmatra potencijalne opasnosti od korištenja novog spektra za 5G mrežu, jer postoji strah da bi bazne stanice mogle ometati električne sustave letjelica, prenosi Smartlife.

Radi se o tome da su mrežni operatori spremni za primjenu C-band spektra za 5G, i to prije kraja 2021. godine.

FAA je izrazila veliku zabrinutost zbog potencijalnog utjecaja ove tehnologije na sigurnost u zrakoplovstvu, a Reuters piše da uprava namjerava izdati javno upozorenje.

Naime, postavlja se pitanje mogu li 5G operacije u C-opsegu izazvati smetnje u radu radarskih visinomjera, koji su vitalni za sigurnost tijekom leta, jer mjere udaljenost letjelice od tla.

Još uvijek nije do kraja jasno kada službene osobe namjeravaju izdati upozorenj...
