Djeca mlađa od deset godina imaju višu razinu antitijela od adolescenata i odraslih, nakon što se zaraze koronavirusom, pokazalo je istraživanje čiji su rezultati objavljeni u ponedjeljak u znanstvenom časopisu Jama.
Ovaj bi stručni rad mogao dijelom pružiti odgovor na pitanje koje znanstvenici još uvijek aktivno proučavaju: zašto su djeca manje pogođena simptomatskim oblicima covida-19?
Tijelo prirodno proizvodi antitijela u prisutnosti virusa da bi se borilo protiv njega i da bi ga uništilo.
Znanstvenici su analizirali više od 31.000 seroloških testova (mjerenja prisutnosti antitijela u krvi) provedenih u New Yorku između travnja i kolovoza 2020. Usredotočili su se na pozitivne rezultate testiranja koji ukazuju na preboljelu infekciju covidom -19.
Po tim rezultatima, djeca u dobi između jedne i 10 godina razvila su srednju razinu IgG antitijela, koja je bila znatno viša nego u odraslih.
IgG je vrsta antitijela koja se nalazi u međustaničnom prostoru i štiti ga od infekcije. Dokazivanjem prisustva ovog antitijela može se pokazati da je postojalo prethodno obolijevanje ili da je provedena imunizacija.
Istodobno je najniža razina antitijela IgG uočena u mlađih odraslih osoba u dobi od 19 do 30 godina, prije nego što je porasla s godinama života, a razlozi za to još uvijek su nejasni, kažu autori istraživanja.
Analize su provedene na manjem broju uzoraka krvi uzetih od djece, adolescenata i mlađih odraslih osoba, a cilj im je bio usporediti imunosni odgovor u različitih dobnih skupina.
Pokazalo se da je srednja razina IgG antitijela dvostruko viša u djece u dobi između jedne i 10 godina u odnosu na adolescente (11 do 18 godina), a među njima je ona bila dvostruko viša nego u mlađih odraslih osoba (19 do 24 godine).
"Rezultati naše studije upućuju na to da bi razlike u kliničkim manifestacijama covida-19 u pedijatrijskih bolesnika, odnosno djece, u usporedbi s onima u odraslih pacijenata, dijelom mogle biti posljedica imunosnog odgovora povezanog sa životnom dobi pacijenta", pojasnili su autori.
"Dakle, naši podaci mogu djelomično objasniti sveukupno slabije simptome i teže oblike bolesti u zaražene djece."
Dodaju da je važno napomenuti još jednu stvar: utvrđeno je da su serološki testovi bili pozitivni kod sličnog udjela djece i adolescenata u odnosu na odrasle osobe. To upućuje na mogućnost da bi djeca, čak i kada razviju blagu sliku bolesti, "mogla predstavljati golem izvor virusa i prijenosa" covida-19, napominju autori.
U studiji koja je prošli mjesec objavljena u časopisu Nature istaknuto je da se djeca znatno bolje brane od virusa zahvaljujući boljem urođenom imunosnom odgovoru organizma, onome koji postoji i prije stečenog imuniteta, koji rezultira nastankom antitijela.

Djeca mlađa od deset godina imaju višu razinu antitijela od adolescenata i odraslih, nakon što se zaraze koronavirusom, pokazalo je istraživanje čiji su rezultati objavljeni u ponedjeljak u znanstvenom časopisu Jama.
Ovaj bi stručni rad mogao dijelom pružiti odgovor na pitanje koje znanstvenici još uvijek aktivno proučavaju: zašto su djeca manje pogođena simptomatskim oblicima covida-19?
Tijelo prirodno proizvodi antitijela u prisutnosti virusa da bi se borilo protiv njega i da bi ga uništilo.
Znanstvenici su analizirali više od 31.000 seroloških testova (mjerenja prisutnosti antitijela u krvi) provedenih u New Yorku između travnja i kolovoza 2020. Usredotočili su se na pozitivne rezultate testiranja koji ukazuju na preboljelu infekciju covidom -19.
Po tim rezultatima, djeca u dobi između jedne i 10 godina razvila su srednju razinu IgG antitijela, koja je bila znatno viša nego u odraslih.
IgG je vrsta antitijela koja se nalazi u međustaničnom prostoru i štiti ga od infekcije. Dokazivanjem prisustva ovog antitijela može se pokazati da je postojalo prethodno obolijevanje ili da je provedena imunizacija.
Istodobno je najniža razina antitijela IgG uočena u mlađih odraslih osoba u dobi od 19 do 30 godina, prije nego što je porasla s godinama života, a razlozi za to još uvijek su nejasni, kažu autori istraživanja.
Analize su provedene na manjem broju uzoraka krvi uzetih od djece, adolescenata i mlađih odraslih osoba, a cilj im je bio usporediti imunosni odgovor u različitih dobnih skupina.
Pokazalo se da je srednja razina IgG antitijela dvostruko viša u djece u dobi između jedne i 10 godina u odnosu na adolescente (11 do 18 godina), a među njima je ona bila dvostruko viša nego u mlađih odraslih osoba (19 do 24 godine).
"Rezultati naše studije upućuju na to da bi razlike u kliničkim manifestacijama covida-19 u pedijatrijskih bolesnika, odnosno djece, u usporedbi s onima u odraslih pacijenata, dijelom mogle biti posljedica imunosnog odgovora povezanog sa životnom dobi pacijenta", pojasnili su autori.
"Dakle, naši podaci mogu djelomično objasniti sveukupno slabije simptome i teže oblike bolesti u zaražene djece."
Dodaju da je važno napomenuti još jednu stvar: utvrđeno je da su serološki testovi bili pozitivni kod sličnog udjela djece i adolescenata u odnosu na odrasle osobe. To upućuje na mogućnost da bi djeca, čak i kada razviju blagu sliku bolesti, "mogla predstavljati golem izvor virusa i prijenosa" covida-19, napominju autori.
U studiji koja je prošli mjesec objavljena u časopisu Nature istaknuto je da se djeca znatno bolje brane od virusa zahvaljujući boljem urođenom imunosnom odgovoru organizma, onome koji postoji i prije stečenog imuniteta, koji rezultira nastankom antitijela.
