Čini se da bi Ukrajina ipak mogla dobiti barem mali broj dalekometnih projektila taktičkog raketnog sustava (ATACMS), o kojima odavno sanjaju. Iako nije sastavni dio najnovijeg paketa vojne pomoći, ATACMS je obećan ukrajinskom predsjedniku Volodimiru Zelenskom tijekom prošlotjednog posjeta Washingtonu.

Prema izvješćima više medija, američki predsjednik Joe Biden je rekao Zelenskom da će SAD "osigurati mali broj projektila dugog dometa za pomoć u ratu s Rusijom", rekla su tri američka dužnosnika za NBC News. Još uvijek nije definirano kad će za Kijev biti otpravljena cijela pošiljka, no mali broj ATACMS-a bit će poslan već u nadolazećim tjednima, objavio je Wall Street Journal, a sličan plan potvrđuje i Washington Post.

ATACMS ili MGM 140 Army Tactical Missile System je taktički balistički projektil kojega već dugo proizvodi vojna tvrtka Lockheed Martin i ima domet do 300 kilometara. Pogoni se krutim pogonskim gorivom, visok je oko 4 metra i može se ispaljivati iz Himarsa ili višecjevnih raketnih bacača MLRS.

SAD je proizveo oko 4000 ATACMS-a u raznim verzijama. Neke uključuju modele s jediničnom bojnom glavom, a postoji i niz varijanti i s nekoliko tipova kazetnog streljiva. Baš takvi će, pretpostavlja se, biti poslani Ukrajini.

Dosad su u američkoj javnosti egzistirala dva glavna razloga zašto Biden nije bio voljan potpisati ustupanje ATACMS-a Ukrajini. Jedan je bio bojazan da ih sam Washington za sebe nema dovoljno u slučaju većeg sukoba, a drugi je briga Bidenove administracije da balistički projektili koji mogu dosegnuti ciljeve duboko u ruskoj unutrašnjosti dodatno ne iziritiraju ruskog predsjednika Vladimira Putina. Odluku da se ATACMS ipak isporuče Kijevu jamačno je ubrzala nedavna odluka vojske SAD-a da će projektili koji se lansiraju sa zemlje biti postupno ukinuti i zamijenjeni novijim sustavom dugog dometa.

Ukrajina se dugo zalagala da dobije ATACMS. Šef tamošnje obavještajne službe Kirilo Budanov u više je navrata isticao kako su im potrebni za napade na mete izvan dosega trenutnog ukrajinskog oružja. „Rusi zapovjedna mjesta i strateška oružja drže uglavnom izvan te udaljenosti tako da nemamo čime doprijeti do njih tamo,” tumačio je general pukovnik Kirilo Budanov.

Ista je situacija, po njemu, i s ruskim zrakoplovstvom na aerodromima. Borba protiv ruskog zrakoplovstva putem sustava protuzračne obrane vrlo je skupa i neučinkovita. Avijaciju Moskve, poručivao je, treba udariti u njihovim zračnim bazama.

Obećanje ATACMS-a iz Bijele kuće u Kijevu se reklamira kao velika pobjeda Volodimira Zelenskog, što na mnogo načina i jest. S obzirom na ciljeve koje Ukrajina treba doseći u borbi protiv duboko ukopanog neprijatelja s ogromnim ljudskim resursima čak i mali broj ATACMS-a će im pomoći, a naročito protiv ciljeva na Krimu. Kerčki most i logistički željeznički pravci za rusku opskrbu Krima biti će im ubuduće puno lakše dohvatljivi. ATACMS-i, međutim, neće promijeniti opće stanje na bojnom polju, pogotovo par desetaka njih.

"Novoisporučene rakete pomoći će Ukrajini, ali neće biti oružje koje mijenja igru", procijenili su visoki američki dužnosnici za Politico. Donedavni tajnik u Pentagonu Colin Kahl izjavio je također kako ključni problem Ukrajine ipak nije stotinama kilometara daleko, nego samo kilometar ispred njihovih snaga, u neprohodnim ruskim minskim poljima.

Povrh dalekometnih raketa, Bidenova administracija je prošli tjedan najavila i dodatnih 325 milijuna dolara drugog oružja izvučenog iz zaliha. To uključuje i dodatno streljivo za protuzračnu obranu, topničko streljivo, protuoklopna oruđa i kasetnu municiju, te sredstva za jačanje ukrajinske protuzračne obrane od zračnih napada iz Rusije.

Pretpostavlja se da će s prvim danima zime Rusija, naime, obnoviti svoje sistematske napade na ukrajinsku kritičnu i energetsku infrastrukturu, kako bi ukrajinskoj naciji dodatno iscrpila snagu i strpljenje.

Čini se da bi Ukrajina ipak mogla dobiti barem mali broj dalekometnih projektila taktičkog raketnog sustava (ATACMS), o kojima odavno sanjaju. Iako nije sastavni dio najnovijeg paketa vojne pomoći, ATACMS je obećan ukrajinskom predsjedniku Volodimiru Zelenskom tijekom prošlotjednog posjeta Washingtonu.

Prema izvješćima više medija, američki predsjednik Joe Biden je rekao Zelenskom da će SAD "osigurati mali broj projektila dugog dometa za pomoć u ratu s Rusijom", rekla su tri američka dužnosnika za NBC News. Još uvijek nije definirano kad će za Kijev biti otpravljena cijela pošiljka, no mali broj ATACMS-a bit će poslan već u nadolazećim tjednima, objavio je Wall Street Journal, a sličan plan potvrđuje i Washington Post.

ATACMS ili MGM 140 Army Tactical Missile System je taktički balistički projektil kojega već dugo proizvodi vojna tvrtka Lockheed Martin i ima domet do 300 kilometara. Pogoni se krutim pogonskim gorivom, visok je oko 4 metra i može se ispaljivati iz Himarsa ili višecjevnih raketnih bacača MLRS.

SAD je proizveo oko 4000 ATACMS-a u raznim verzijama. Neke uključuju modele s jediničnom bojnom glavom, a postoji i niz varijanti i s nekoliko tipova kazetnog streljiva. Baš takvi će, pretpostavlja se, biti poslani Ukrajini.

Dosad su u američkoj javnosti egzistirala dva glavna razloga zašto Biden nije bio voljan potpisati ustupanje ATACMS-a Ukrajini. Jedan je bio bojazan da ih sam Washington za sebe nema dovoljno u slučaju većeg sukoba, a drugi je briga Bidenove administracije da balistički projektili koji mogu dosegnuti ciljeve duboko u ruskoj unutrašnjosti dodatno ne iziritiraju ruskog predsjednika Vladimira Putina. Odluku da se ATACMS ipak isporuče Kijevu jamačno je ubrzala nedavna odluka vojske SAD-a da će projektili koji se lansiraju sa zemlje biti postupno ukinuti i zamijenjeni novijim sustavom dugog dometa.

Ukrajina se dugo zalagala da dobije ATACMS. Šef tamošnje obavještajne službe Kirilo Budanov u više je navrata isticao kako su im potrebni za napade na mete izvan dosega trenutnog ukrajinskog oružja. „Rusi zapovjedna mjesta i strateška oružja drže uglavnom izvan te udaljenosti tako da nemamo čime doprijeti do njih tamo,” tumačio je general pukovnik Kirilo Budanov.

Ista je situacija, po njemu, i s ruskim zrakoplovstvom na aerodromima. Borba protiv ruskog zrakoplovstva putem sustava protuzračne obrane vrlo je skupa i neučinkovita. Avijaciju Moskve, poručivao je, treba udariti u njihovim zračnim bazama.

Obećanje ATACMS-a iz Bijele kuće u Kijevu se reklamira kao velika pobjeda Volodimira Zelenskog, što na mnogo načina i jest. S obzirom na ciljeve koje Ukrajina treba doseći u borbi protiv duboko ukopanog neprijatelja s ogromnim ljudskim resursima čak i mali broj ATACMS-a će im pomoći, a naročito protiv ciljeva na Krimu. Kerčki most i logistički željeznički pravci za rusku opskrbu Krima biti će im ubuduće puno lakše dohvatljivi. ATACMS-i, međutim, neće promijeniti opće stanje na bojnom polju, pogotovo par desetaka njih.

"Novoisporučene rakete pomoći će Ukrajini, ali neće biti oružje koje mijenja igru", procijenili su visoki američki dužnosnici za Politico. Donedavni tajnik u Pentagonu Colin Kahl izjavio je također kako ključni problem Ukrajine ipak nije stotinama kilometara daleko, nego samo kilometar ispred njihovih snaga, u neprohodnim ruskim minskim poljima.

Povrh dalekometnih raketa, Bidenova administracija je prošli tjedan najavila i dodatnih 325 milijuna dolara drugog oružja izvučenog iz zaliha. To uključuje i dodatno streljivo za protuzračnu obranu, topničko streljivo, protuoklopna oruđa i kasetnu municiju, te sredstva za jačanje ukrajinske protuzračne obrane od zračnih napada iz Rusije.

Pretpostavlja se da će s prvim danima zime Rusija, naime, obnoviti svoje sistematske napade na ukrajinsku kritičnu i energetsku infrastrukturu, kako bi ukrajinskoj naciji dodatno iscrpila snagu i strpljenje.
