Već prva doza Pfizer-BioNTechova cjepiva učinkovita je 85 posto protiv koronavirusa, između drugog i četvrtog tjedna od cijepljenja, prema izraelskom istraživanju objavljenom u časopisu Lancet medical journal.
Studija je provedena među zdravstvenim djelatnicima u najvećoj bolnici u Izraelu koji je 19. prosinca pokrenuo masovno cijepljenje ocijenjeno kao najbrže na svijetu.
Izraelske studije do sada su pokazale da je cjepivo Pfizer-BioNTech 95 posto učinkovito tjedan dana nakon druge doze.
Ovo istraživanje, čiji su rezultati objavljeni u Lancetu, obuhvatilo je više od 9000 zdravstvenih djelatnika u bolnici Sheba pokraj Tel Aviva.
Oko 7000 primilo je jednu dozu, a ostali nisu cijepljeni.
Kod 170 ispitanika postavljena je dijagnoza covida-19 nakon testiranja samo na onima koji su pokazivali simptome ili su bili u kontaktu sa zaraženim osobama. Od toga 52 posto nije bilo cijepljeno.
Uspoređujući dvije skupine - cijepljene i necijepljene - studija u bolnici Sheba pokazala je da je cjepivo 47 posto učinkovito između prvog i 14. dana nakon cijepljenja što je poraslo na 85 posto nakon 15 do 28 dana.
"Ono što vidimo je vrlo visoka učinkovitost već nakon dva tjedna. Nakon dva tjedna pa do četiri tjedna od cijepljenja vidi se već visoka učinkovitost od 85 posto smanjenja simptomatskih infekcija", kaže Gili Regev-Yochay, koautor studije.
Unatoč tome što je cjepivo "zadivljujuće učinkovito" znanstvenici još proučavaju mogu li cijepljene osobe biti i dalje kliconoše.
"To je veliko, veliko pitanje. Radimo na tome. Nadam se da ćemo uskoro imati neke dobre vijesti", kaže Regev-Yochay.
Izrael je cijepio Pfizer-BioNTechom 4,23 milijuna ljudi, odnosno 47 posto stanovnika, a 2,85 milijuna već je dobilo i drugu dozu cjepiva.

Već prva doza Pfizer-BioNTechova cjepiva učinkovita je 85 posto protiv koronavirusa, između drugog i četvrtog tjedna od cijepljenja, prema izraelskom istraživanju objavljenom u časopisu Lancet medical journal.
Studija je provedena među zdravstvenim djelatnicima u najvećoj bolnici u Izraelu koji je 19. prosinca pokrenuo masovno cijepljenje ocijenjeno kao najbrže na svijetu.
Izraelske studije do sada su pokazale da je cjepivo Pfizer-BioNTech 95 posto učinkovito tjedan dana nakon druge doze.
Ovo istraživanje, čiji su rezultati objavljeni u Lancetu, obuhvatilo je više od 9000 zdravstvenih djelatnika u bolnici Sheba pokraj Tel Aviva.
Oko 7000 primilo je jednu dozu, a ostali nisu cijepljeni.
Kod 170 ispitanika postavljena je dijagnoza covida-19 nakon testiranja samo na onima koji su pokazivali simptome ili su bili u kontaktu sa zaraženim osobama. Od toga 52 posto nije bilo cijepljeno.
Uspoređujući dvije skupine - cijepljene i necijepljene - studija u bolnici Sheba pokazala je da je cjepivo 47 posto učinkovito između prvog i 14. dana nakon cijepljenja što je poraslo na 85 posto nakon 15 do 28 dana.
"Ono što vidimo je vrlo visoka učinkovitost već nakon dva tjedna. Nakon dva tjedna pa do četiri tjedna od cijepljenja vidi se već visoka učinkovitost od 85 posto smanjenja simptomatskih infekcija", kaže Gili Regev-Yochay, koautor studije.
Unatoč tome što je cjepivo "zadivljujuće učinkovito" znanstvenici još proučavaju mogu li cijepljene osobe biti i dalje kliconoše.
"To je veliko, veliko pitanje. Radimo na tome. Nadam se da ćemo uskoro imati neke dobre vijesti", kaže Regev-Yochay.
Izrael je cijepio Pfizer-BioNTechom 4,23 milijuna ljudi, odnosno 47 posto stanovnika, a 2,85 milijuna već je dobilo i drugu dozu cjepiva.
