Predsjednik Donald Trump poručio je da je za SAD "čast" to što ima najveći broj potvrđenih slučaja zaraze Covidom-19 na svijetu, prenio je BBC.

"Ja na to gledam, uz dužno poštovanje, kao na dobru stvar, jer to znači da je naše testiranje puno bolje", rekao je u Bijeloj kući.
SAD ima 1.5 milijuna slučajeva koronavirusa i blizu 92 tisuće smrtnih slučajeva, prema sveučilištu Johns Hopkins.

Na drugom mjestu je Rusija, s blizu 300 tisuća potvrđenih slučajeva.

U ponedjeljak, Trump je vodio prvi sastanak vlade otkad je u SAD-u izbila zaraza.

"Usput", rekao je novinarima, " znate kad kažete da smo vodeći po broju slučajeva, to je stoga što provodimo više testiranja nego bilo tko drugi."

"Tako da na to što imamo puno slučajeva", nastavio je, "ne gledam kao na lošu stvar, gledam na to, s određenim poštovanjem, kao na dobru stvar, jer to znači da je naše testiranje puno bolje."

Dodao je da to zapravo vidi kao čast te da je to "velika posveta testiranju i poslu kojeg je obavilo puno profesionalaca."

Demokrati poručili da je 1,5 milijuna zaraženih "promašaj u vodstvu"

Demokratski nacionalni odbor kritizirao je izjave republikanskog predsjednika, tvitajući da 1.5 milijuna oboljelih od Covida-19 predstavlja "potpuni promašaj u vodstvu".

I dok je SAD testirao više ljudi od bilo koje druge zemlje, nije prva zemlja u svijetu u broju testiranja po glavi stanovnika, prema Our World in Data, znanstvene publikacije sveučilišta Oxford.

Prema njihovoj tablici, SAD se nalazi na 16. mjestu u svijetu prema broju testiranja obavljenih na 1.000 ljudi, ispred Južne Koreje, ali iza zemalja poput Islanda, Novog Zelanda, Rusije i Kanade.

Tijekom proteklog tjedna, SAD je obavio između 300 i 400 tisuća testiranja dnevno, prema volonterskoj grupi Covid Tracking Project.

No direktor Globalnog instituta za zdravlje pri sveučilištu Harvard, Ashish Jha, rekao je prošli tjedan na kongresnom saslušanju kako "SAD treba provoditi više od 900 tisuća testova svaki dan kako bi ponovno mogao sigurno funkcionirati. Radimo trećinu od toga."

SAD je također prijavio najveći broj smrtnih slučajeva u svijetu, iako se prema broju stanovnika nalazi na šestom mjestu, iza Belgije, Velike Britanije i Francuske, prema podacima sveučilišta Johns Hopkins.

Predsjednik Donald Trump poručio je da je za SAD "čast" to što ima najveći broj potvrđenih slučaja zaraze Covidom-19 na svijetu, prenio je BBC.

"Ja na to gledam, uz dužno poštovanje, kao na dobru stvar, jer to znači da je naše testiranje puno bolje", rekao je u Bijeloj kući.
SAD ima 1.5 milijuna slučajeva koronavirusa i blizu 92 tisuće smrtnih slučajeva, prema sveučilištu Johns Hopkins.

Na drugom mjestu je Rusija, s blizu 300 tisuća potvrđenih slučajeva.

U ponedjeljak, Trump je vodio prvi sastanak vlade otkad je u SAD-u izbila zaraza.

"Usput", rekao je novinarima, " znate kad kažete da smo vodeći po broju slučajeva, to je stoga što provodimo više testiranja nego bilo tko drugi."

"Tako da na to što imamo puno slučajeva", nastavio je, "ne gledam kao na lošu stvar, gledam na to, s određenim poštovanjem, kao na dobru stvar, jer to znači da je naše testiranje puno bolje."

Dodao je da to zapravo vidi kao čast te da je to "velika posveta testiranju i poslu kojeg je obavilo puno profesionalaca."

Demokrati poručili da je 1,5 milijuna zaraženih "promašaj u vodstvu"

Demokratski nacionalni odbor kritizirao je izjave republikanskog predsjednika, tvitajući da 1.5 milijuna oboljelih od Covida-19 predstavlja "potpuni promašaj u vodstvu".

I dok je SAD testirao više ljudi od bilo koje druge zemlje, nije prva zemlja u svijetu u broju testiranja po glavi stanovnika, prema Our World in Data, znanstvene publikacije sveučilišta Oxford.

Prema njihovoj tablici, SAD se nalazi na 16. mjestu u svijetu prema broju testiranja obavljenih na 1.000 ljudi, ispred Južne Koreje, ali iza zemalja poput Islanda, Novog Zelanda, Rusije i Kanade.

Tijekom proteklog tjedna, SAD je obavio između 300 i 400 tisuća testiranja dnevno, prema volonterskoj grupi Covid Tracking Project.

No direktor Globalnog instituta za zdravlje pri sveučilištu Harvard, Ashish Jha, rekao je prošli tjedan na kongresnom saslušanju kako "SAD treba provoditi više od 900 tisuća testova svaki dan kako bi ponovno mogao sigurno funkcionirati. Radimo trećinu od toga."

SAD je također prijavio najveći broj smrtnih slučajeva u svijetu, iako se prema broju stanovnika nalazi na šestom mjestu, iza Belgije, Velike Britanije i Francuske, prema podacima sveučilišta Johns Hopkins.

Predsjednik Donald Trump poručio je da je za SAD "čast" to što ima najveći broj potvrđenih slučaja zaraze Covidom-19 na svijetu, prenio je BBC.

"Ja na to gledam, uz dužno poštovanje, kao na dobru stvar, jer to znači da je naše testiranje puno bolje", rekao je u Bijeloj kući.
SAD ima 1.5 milijuna slučajeva koronavirusa i blizu 92 tisuće smrtnih slučajeva, prema sveučilištu Johns Hopkins.

Na drugom mjestu je Rusija, s blizu 300 tisuća potvrđenih slučajeva.

U ponedjeljak, Trump je vodio prvi sastanak vlade otkad je u SAD-u izbila zaraza.

"Usput", rekao je novinarima, " znate kad kažete da smo vodeći po broju slučajeva, to je stoga što provodimo više testiranja nego bilo tko drugi."

"Tako da na to što imamo puno slučajeva", nastavio je, "ne gledam kao na lošu stvar, gledam...
