Unatoč rastućem utjecaju društvenih mreža, televizijski kanali i novine i dalje su najjači "vratari" u procesu dijeljenja informacija - smatra Yasemin Giritli İnceoğlu, gostujuća profesorica medijskih studija na Odsjeku za medije i komunikacije LSE-u (London School of Economics and Political Science).

Tradicionalni mediji ne samo da informiraju javnost, već također dokumentiraju i dijele informacije vezane uz potres u Turskoj te ih komuniciraju sa širom publikom putem javnih službenika i stručnjaka.

No, to nije garancija da će tim kanalima uvijek stići točne informacije, i njima se može prošriti - infodemija.

Ona se definira kao nemogućnost ljudi da pristupe pouzdanim i točnim informacijama zbog prevlasti lažnih informacija, posebno u kriznim vremenima kao što su potresi, u ovom slučaju u Turskoj odnosno Siriji.

Javnost je u tom procesu više nego ikad izložena teorijama zavjere, lažnim vijestima i provokacijama. Uz sve veću potrebu za točnim informacijama u vrijeme krize, nesposobnost pojedinca da razlikuje točne od netočnih informacija uzrokuje vrlo brzo širenje infodemije. Ta se situacija tada može pretvoriti u javnozdravstveni problem, napominje analitičarka.

I to je ono što smo vidjeli da se dogodilo tijekom velikog potresa u Turskoj i Siriji 6. veljače, napominje Yasemin Giritli İnceoğlu za The Wire, navodeći odmah i kako.

Na primjer, glasovna poruka "U Samsunu će za sat vremena biti potres magnitude 6,3 Richtera" munjevito se bila proširila društvenim mrežama, a nakon nekog vremena pokazalo se da je ta glasina bila neutemeljena. Također smo svjedočili lažnoj tvrdnji da je tursko tijelo za upravljanje katastrofama AFAD dalo izjavu da se navečer očekuje potres magnitude 8,5.

Iako se zna da je nemoguće na ovaj način "izgatati" potrese, ponovno su mnogi nasjeli. Uostalom, i nakon potresa u Zagrebu prije tri godine bila se pojavila "vijest" da se novi očekuje u točno navedeno vrijeme u rano poslijepodne. I ta je dezinformacija bila ozbiljno shvaćena.

Lažne pozive upomoć uputili su nakon potresa u Turskoj neki ljudi na društvenim mrežama. Osim toga, dok su TV kanali prenosili informaciju da se spašavanje odvija od prvog trenutka, alternativni i neovisni mediji doznali su da se većini ruševina nije moglo pristupiti sve do trećeg dana potresa. Lokalni dužnosnici i mještani osobno su vlastitim snagama pokušali izvući žive i mrtve iz ruševina, budući da nije bilo nikakve mehanizacije pri ruci.

Drugim riječima, vidjeli smo da ono što su mediji prikazivali ne odgovara stvarnosti. Činjenica je da su dezinformacije široko rasprostranjene u takvim trenucima kaosa, ali uvođenje raznih ograničenja društvenih mreža u svrhu borbe protiv dezinformacija istodobno je stvorilo je prepreku solidarnosti, suradnji, slobodi komunikacije, a time i pravu na život tijekom potresa - tvrdi Yasemin Giritli İnceoğlu.

S obzirom na to, ograničenja na Twitteru i TikToku ukinuta su ubrzo nakon što su uvedena.

Bitno je - napominje analitičarka - koliko i kako mediji u svoje vijesti unose prava i primjerena pitanja ili kritike. Novinar koji dođe na teren trebao bi držati mikrofon stradalnicima potresa i ljudima koji im pomažu. Činjenica da reporter nekog turskog TV kanala izbjegava žrtve potresa koje poručuju da ne mogu dobiti potrebnu pomoć izaziva opravdani dojam da se glasovi građana zagušuju.

A u ovom slučaju bilo je nekoliko važnih pitanja koja je trebalo postaviti: zašto su se srušili objekti izgrađeni nakon novih protupotresnih propisa, tko je odgovoran za nadzor srušenih objekata, zašto se kasni s intervencijama, dizalicama, građevinskim strojevima, agregatima, kontejnerima...

Zadaća medija nije samo objavljivanje novosti o akcijama potrage i spašavanja, već i iznošenje propusta i pogrešaka. Tvrdnje da su informacije koje dijele preživjeli u potresu laž stvaraju osjećaj bespomoćnosti, beznađa, ogorčenosti, ljutnje i usamljenosti kod ljudi koji proživljavaju ovu katastrofu.

Personalizacija i dramatizacija često su korišteni u prezentaciji vijesti. U tom su se procesu novinski naslovi i priče uglavnom koncentrirali na ljudske gubitke kao "neizbježne", iako taj fokus navodi samo na fatalističke zaključke i može pridonijeti očaju.

Na TV-u, dramatični efekti i glazba također mogu dovesti do daljnje boli, a mediji, u ovakvom trenutku, imaju veliku odgovornost - moraju donijeti informacije koje su ljudima potrebne, kao što su kontakti za hitne slučajeve, gdje je dostupno sklonište, kako kontaktirati rodbinu, koje su sigurnosne mjere na snazi, itd. Umjesto toga, fokusiranjem na djecu izbavljenu iz ruševina, s personaliziranim i dramatičnim kadriranjem, ide se na "dramatizaciju" odnosno komercijalizaciju priče koja je već sama po sebi krajnje dramatična.

Također postoji nepotreban fokus na pojedinačne priče, čime se vijest izvlači iz konteksta. Na primjer, jedan je novinar rekao: “Sada ću prisloniti mikrofon na šutu i razgovarati sa žrtvom. ‘Gospodine Ercan, čujete li me? Koliko vas je?‘”

Svrha ovakve reportaže nejasna je i može samo pojačati bol žrtava. Dozvoljeno je novinaru i suosjećati sa žrtvom katastrofe dok postavlja pitanja, ali to zahtijeva odgovarajuću obuku, kako pristupiti.

Osobito djecu žrtve ne bi trebalo pretvarati u “djecu s postera”; zbog toga ona mogu imati poteškoća u razumijevanju vlastite situacije. Njihove slike u ekstremno teškim situacijama mogu dodatno naštetiti.

K tome, izvješćivanje bi trebalo dolaziti iz perspektive ljudi na terenu, osobito onih koji su pogođeni katastrofom, a ne samo u nastojanju da sustav izgleda dobro, upozorava Yasemin Giritli İnceoğlu.

Unatoč rastućem utjecaju društvenih mreža, televizijski kanali i novine i dalje su najjači "vratari" u procesu dijeljenja informacija - smatra Yasemin Giritli İnceoğlu, gostujuća profesorica medijskih studija na Odsjeku za medije i komunikacije LSE-u (London School of Economics and Political Science).

Tradicionalni mediji ne samo da informiraju javnost, već također dokumentiraju i dijele informacije vezane uz potres u Turskoj te ih komuniciraju sa širom publikom putem javnih službenika i stručnjaka.

No, to nije garancija da će tim kanalima uvijek stići točne informacije, i njima se može prošriti - infodemija.

Ona se definira kao nemogućnost ljudi da pristupe pouzdanim i točnim informacijama zbog prevlasti lažnih informacija, posebno u kriznim vremenima kao što su potresi, u ovom slučaju u Turskoj odnosno Siriji.

Javnost je u tom procesu više nego ikad izložena teorijama zavjere, lažnim vijestima i provokacijama. Uz sve veću potrebu za točnim informacijama u vrijeme krize, nesposobnost pojedinca da razlikuje točne od netočnih informacija uzrokuje vrlo brzo širenje infodemije. Ta se situacija tada može pretvoriti u javnozdravstveni problem, napominje analitičarka.

I to je ono što smo vidjeli da se dogodilo tijekom velikog potresa u Turskoj i Siriji 6. veljače, napominje Yasemin Giritli İnceoğlu za The Wire, navodeći odmah i kako.

Na primjer, glasovna poruka "U Samsunu će za sat vremena biti potres magnitude 6,3 Richtera" munjevito se bila proširila društvenim mrežama, a nakon nekog vremena pokazalo se da je ta glasina bila neutemeljena. Također smo svjedočili lažnoj tvrdnji da je tursko tijelo za upravljanje katastrofama AFAD dalo izjavu da se navečer očekuje potres magnitude 8,5.

Iako se zna da je nemoguće na ovaj način "izgatati" potrese, ponovno su mnogi nasjeli. Uostalom, i nakon potresa u Zagrebu prije tri godine bila se pojavila "vijest" da se novi očekuje u točno navedeno vrijeme u rano poslijepodne. I ta je dezinformacija bila ozbiljno shvaćena.

Lažne pozive upomoć uputili su nakon potresa u Turskoj neki ljudi na društvenim mrežama. Osim toga, dok su TV kanali prenosili informaciju da se spašavanje odvija od prvog trenutka, alternativni i neovisni mediji doznali su da se većini ruševina nije moglo pristupiti sve do trećeg dana potresa. Lokalni dužnosnici i mještani osobno su vlastitim snagama pokušali izvući žive i mrtve iz ruševina, budući da nije bilo nikakve mehanizacije pri ruci.

Drugim riječima, vidjeli smo da ono što su mediji prikazivali ne odgovara stvarnosti. Činjenica je da su dezinformacije široko rasprostranjene u takvim trenucima kaosa, ali uvođenje raznih ograničenja društvenih mreža u svrhu borbe protiv dezinformacija istodobno je stvorilo je prepreku solidarnosti, suradnji, slobodi komunikacije, a time i pravu na život tijekom potresa - tvrdi Yasemin Giritli İnceoğlu.

S obzirom na to, ograničenja na Twitteru i TikToku ukinuta su ubrzo nakon što su uvedena.

Bitno je - napominje analitičarka - koliko i kako mediji u svoje vijesti unose prava i primjerena pitanja ili kritike. Novinar koji dođe na teren trebao bi držati mikrofon stradalnicima potresa i ljudima koji im pomažu. Činjenica da reporter nekog turskog TV kanala izbjegava žrtve potresa koje poručuju da ne mogu dobiti potrebnu pomoć izaziva opravdani dojam da se glasovi građana zagušuju.

A u ovom slučaju bilo je nekoliko važnih pitanja koja je trebalo postaviti: zašto su se srušili objekti izgrađeni nakon novih protupotresnih propisa, tko je odgovoran za nadzor srušenih objekata, zašto se kasni s intervencijama, dizalicama, građevinskim strojevima, agregatima, kontejnerima...

Zadaća medija nije samo objavljivanje novosti o akcijama potrage i spašavanja, već i iznošenje propusta i pogrešaka. Tvrdnje da su informacije koje dijele preživjeli u potresu laž stvaraju osjećaj bespomoćnosti, beznađa, ogorčenosti, ljutnje i usamljenosti kod ljudi koji proživljavaju ovu katastrofu.

Personalizacija i dramatizacija često su korišteni u prezentaciji vijesti. U tom su se procesu novinski naslovi i priče uglavnom koncentrirali na ljudske gubitke kao "neizbježne", iako taj fokus navodi samo na fatalističke zaključke i može pridonijeti očaju.

Na TV-u, dramatični efekti i glazba također mogu dovesti do daljnje boli, a mediji, u ovakvom trenutku, imaju veliku odgovornost - moraju donijeti informacije koje su ljudima potrebne, kao što su kontakti za hitne slučajeve, gdje je dostupno sklonište, kako kontaktirati rodbinu, koje su sigurnosne mjere na snazi, itd. Umjesto toga, fokusiranjem na djecu izbavljenu iz ruševina, s personaliziranim i dramatičnim kadriranjem, ide se na "dramatizaciju" odnosno komercijalizaciju priče koja je već sama po sebi krajnje dramatična.

Također postoji nepotreban fokus na pojedinačne priče, čime se vijest izvlači iz konteksta. Na primjer, jedan je novinar rekao: “Sada ću prisloniti mikrofon na šutu i razgovarati sa žrtvom. ‘Gospodine Ercan, čujete li me? Koliko vas je?‘”

Svrha ovakve reportaže nejasna je i može samo pojačati bol žrtava. Dozvoljeno je novinaru i suosjećati sa žrtvom katastrofe dok postavlja pitanja, ali to zahtijeva odgovarajuću obuku, kako pristupiti.

Osobito djecu žrtve ne bi trebalo pretvarati u “djecu s postera”; zbog toga ona mogu imati poteškoća u razumijevanju vlastite situacije. Njihove slike u ekstremno teškim situacijama mogu dodatno naštetiti.

K tome, izvješćivanje bi trebalo dolaziti iz perspektive ljudi na terenu, osobito onih koji su pogođeni katastrofom, a ne samo u nastojanju da sustav izgleda dobro, upozorava Yasemin Giritli İnceoğlu.
