Muškarac koji je u petak napao i ozlijedio pisca Salmana Rushdieja optužen je za pokušaj ubojstva i napad, objavili su  tužitelji u subotu.

"Osoba odgovorna za jučerašnji napad, Hadi Matar, sada je službeno optužena za pokušaj ubojstva i napad", objavio je okružni tužitelj okruga Chautauqua Jason Schmidt u subotu.

"Sinoć je izveden pred sud temeljem tih optužbi i zadržan je u pritvoru bez jamčevine", dodaje se u priopćenju.

Nakon višesatnog operativnog zahvata, Rushdie je u petak priključen na respirator. 

Riječ je o 24-godišnjaku iz mjesta Fairview u državi New Jersey, koji je kupio ulaznicu za Rushdievo predavanje. 

Rushdie, poznati spisatelj porijeklom iz Indije, koji se godinama skrivao nakon što je Iran pozvao muslimane da ga ubiju zbog njegova romana "Sotonski stihovi", izboden je u petak nožem u vrat i torzo na pozornici Institucije Chautauqui gdje je trebao održati predavanje.

Preliminarnim policijskim pregledom Matarovih računa na društvenim mrežama utvrđeno je da je bio poklonik šijitskog ekstremizma i Iranske revolucionarne garde, izvijestio je NBC New York, pozivajući se na neimenovanog policijskog dužnosnika koji je upoznat s istragom napada.

Muškarac koji je u petak napao i ozlijedio pisca Salmana Rushdieja optužen je za pokušaj ubojstva i napad, objavili su  tužitelji u subotu.

"Osoba odgovorna za jučerašnji napad, Hadi Matar, sada je službeno optužena za pokušaj ubojstva i napad", objavio je okružni tužitelj okruga Chautauqua Jason Schmidt u subotu.

"Sinoć je izveden pred sud temeljem tih optužbi i zadržan je u pritvoru bez jamčevine", dodaje se u priopćenju.

Nakon višesatnog operativnog zahvata, Rushdie je u petak priključen na respirator. 

Riječ je o 24-godišnjaku iz mjesta Fairview u državi New Jersey, koji je kupio ulaznicu za Rushdievo predavanje. 

Rushdie, poznati spisatelj porijeklom iz Indije, koji se godinama skrivao nakon što je Iran pozvao muslimane da ga ubiju zbog njegova romana "Sotonski stihovi", izboden je u petak nožem u vrat i torzo na pozornici Institucije Chautauqui gdje je trebao održati predavanje.

Preliminarnim policijskim pregledom Matarovih računa na društvenim mrežama utvrđeno je da je bio poklonik šijitskog ekstremizma i Iranske revolucionarne garde, izvijestio je NBC New York, pozivajući se na neimenovanog policijskog dužnosnika koji je upoznat s istragom napada.

Napadač na Salmana Rushdieja optužen je za napad i pokušaj ubojstva, otkriveno da je poklonik šijitskog ekstremizma

Muškarac koji je u petak napao i ozlijedio pisca Salmana Rushdieja optužen je za pokušaj ubojstva i napad, objavili su  tužitelji u subotu.

"Osoba odgovorna za jučerašnji napad, Hadi Matar, sada je službeno optužena za pokušaj ubojstva i napad", objavio je okružni tužitelj okruga Chautauqua Jason Schmidt u subotu.

"Sinoć je izveden pred sud temeljem tih optužbi i zadržan je u pritvoru bez jamčevine", dodaje se u priopćenju.

Nakon višesatnog operativnog zahvata, Rushdie je u petak priključen na respirator. 

Riječ je o 24-godišnjaku iz mjesta Fairview u državi New Jersey, koji je kupio ulaznicu za Rushdievo predavanje.
