NASA-in rover Perseverance prvi se put kretao Crvenim planetom prevalivši put od 6,5 metara u 33 minute, priopćila je američka svemirska agencija u petak.

Kratkim putovanjem testirana je mobilnost u svrhu provjere sustava rovera. NASA planira da se u sklopu znanstvenih istraživanja Perseverance kreće po površini Marsa prelazeći put od 200 ili više metara.

Rover se pomaknuo četiri metra unaprijed, okrenuo ulijevo i potom unazad za 2,5 metra kako bi se privremeno parkirao. 

"Roverov pogon na šest kotača je odlično reagirao", rekla je Anais Zarifian, NASA-ina inženjerka. "Sada smo uvjereni da nas naš pogonski sustav, spreman za vožnju, može odvesti kamo god nas znanost uputi u sljedeće dvije godine".

Rover, težak oko 1.000 kilograma i veličine malog automobila, spustio se na Mars prilikom rizičnog slijetanja 18. veljače, nakon 480 milijuna kilometara dugog putovanja kroz svemir.

Očekuje se da će Perseverance proučavati površinu Marsa najmanje dvije godine radi istraživanja klime i geologije te prikupljanja uzoraka stijena i tla.

NASA-in rover Perseverance prvi se put kretao Crvenim planetom prevalivši put od 6,5 metara u 33 minute, priopćila je američka svemirska agencija u petak.

Kratkim putovanjem testirana je mobilnost u svrhu provjere sustava rovera. NASA planira da se u sklopu znanstvenih istraživanja Perseverance kreće po površini Marsa prelazeći put od 200 ili više metara.

Rover se pomaknuo četiri metra unaprijed, okrenuo ulijevo i potom unazad za 2,5 metra kako bi se privremeno parkirao. 

"Roverov pogon na šest kotača je odlično reagirao", rekla je Anais Zarifian, NASA-ina inženjerka. "Sada smo uvjereni da nas naš pogonski sustav, spreman za vožnju, može odvesti kamo god nas znanost uputi u sljedeće dvije godine".

Rover, težak oko 1.000 kilograma i veličine malog automobila, spustio se na Mars prilikom rizičnog slijetanja 18. veljače, nakon 480 milijuna kilometara dugog putovanja kroz svemir.

Očekuje se da će Perseverance proučavati površinu Marsa najmanje dvije godine radi istraživanja klime i geologije te prikupljanja uzoraka stijena i tla.

NASA-in rover Perseverance prešao šest metara u 33 minute na probnoj vožni po Marsu

NASA-in rover Perseverance prvi se put kretao Crvenim planetom prevalivši put od 6,5 metara u 33 minute, priopćila je američka svemirska agencija u petak.

Kratkim putovanjem testirana je mobilnost u svrhu provjere sustava rovera. NASA planira da se u sklopu znanstvenih istraživanja Perseverance kreće po površini Marsa prelazeći put od 200 ili više metara.

Rover se pomaknuo četiri metra unaprijed, okrenuo ulijevo i potom unazad za 2,5 metra kako bi se privremeno parkirao. 

"Roverov pogon na šest kotača je odlično reagirao", rekla je Anais Zarifian, NASA-ina inženjerka. "Sada smo uvjereni da nas naš pogonski sustav, spreman za vožnju, može odvesti kamo god nas znanost uputi u sljedeće dvije godine".
