Prosvjedi u Iranu, izazvani nestašicom pitke vode, potvrdili su strahove znanstvenika koji su još 2015. upozorili kako bi taj problem mogao uzrokovati egzodus milijuna Iranaca, piše Jutarnji list.

Situaciju je najlakše opisati primjerom jezera Urmije. Jedno od najvećih slanih jezera na svijetu, danas je simbol ekološke katastrofe. Nekada se prostiralo na više od 3.100 kvadratnih kilometara, da bi se do 2015. smanjilo na deseti dio te površine.

Presušuje i rijeka Karun, žila kucavica regije Khuzestan. U srpnju su u toj regiji, gdje se proizvode i velike količine nafte, stanovnici izašli na ulice zbog nestašice vode, a prosvjedovalo se i protiv isključenja struje, izazvanim prestankom rada hidroelektrana. Nestanak struje posljedica je i velike potrošnje, tj. opterećenja elektroenergetskog sistema.

Tu je i zagađenje

Irance muče i iznimno visoke temperature, zagađenje i poplave.

"Najveći su problem globalne klimatske promjene. No, dio problema je i u lošem upravljanju resursima, lošim okolišnim politikama, nedostatku planiranja i nepripremljenosti za ovakve situacije", izjavio je Kaveh Madani, bivši zamjenik čelnika Ureda za zaštitu okoliša Irana, danas zaposlen na američkom sveučilištu Yale.

Čelnik Iranskog ureda za zaštitu okoliša Masoumeh Ebtekar pozivao je zato na poljoprivrednu revoluciju.

Iran se isključivo oslanja na hranu koju proizvode domaći poljoprivrednici, što znači povećanu potrošnju podzemnih voda, koji se brze potroše, no što se obnove.

Isušivanje močvara i rijeka Irana može izazvati opasne pješčane oluje, a njihovi građani opasno su frustrirani i zbog desetkovane ekonomije koja je slomljena američkim sankcijama, kao i sporim cijepljenjem usred porasta broja infekcija i smrtnih slučajeva COVID-19 posljednjih tjedana. Svoja prava izlaskom na ulice traže i medicinske sestre, radnici, penzioneri i tisuće sezonskih naftnih radnika.

Direktiva o vodi za piće

U Europi su svjesni problema koje može uzrokovati nestašica vode. Europski parlament tako je krajem prošle godine odobrio dogovor s državama članicama o novoj Direktivi o vodi za piće.

Novim pravilima želi se poboljšati kvaliteta vode iz vodovoda u cijeloj Uniji. Odgovor je to na zahtjeve gotovo dva milijuna Europljana koji su podržali inicijativu „Right2Water” za poboljšanje dostupnosti sigurne vode za piće svim Europljanima, prvu uspješno provedenu europsku građansku inicijativu.

Kako prenosi Jutarnji list, u tu svrhu države članice osigurat će besplatnu opskrbu vodom u javnim zgradama, a restorane, kantine i druge ugostiteljske objekte poticat će da nude vodu iz slavine besplatno ili uz nisku naknadu. Države članice trebale bi poboljšati i dostupnost vode ranjivim skupinama poput izbjeglica, nomadskih zajednica, beskućnika i manjinskih kultura poput Roma i Čergara.

”Vrijeme je da je ažuriramo i postrožimo granične vrijednosti za neke onečišćujuće tvari poput olova. Parlamentu je bilo najvažnije da zahvaljujući novoj direktivi voda za piće bude još sigurnija te da se u obzir uzmu i nove onečišćujuće tvari. Stoga pozdravljam odredbe o mikroplastici i endokrinim disruptorima poput bisfenola A”, izjavio je Christophe Hansen (EPP, Luksemburg).

Prosvjedi u Iranu, izazvani nestašicom pitke vode, potvrdili su strahove znanstvenika koji su još 2015. upozorili kako bi taj problem mogao uzrokovati egzodus milijuna Iranaca, piše Jutarnji list.

Situaciju je najlakše opisati primjerom jezera Urmije. Jedno od najvećih slanih jezera na svijetu, danas je simbol ekološke katastrofe. Nekada se prostiralo na više od 3.100 kvadratnih kilometara, da bi se do 2015. smanjilo na deseti dio te površine.

Presušuje i rijeka Karun, žila kucavica regije Khuzestan. U srpnju su u toj regiji, gdje se proizvode i velike količine nafte, stanovnici izašli na ulice zbog nestašice vode, a prosvjedovalo se i protiv isključenja struje, izazvanim prestankom rada hidroelektrana. Nestanak struje posljedica je i velike potrošnje, tj. opterećenja elektroenergetskog sistema.

Tu je i zagađenje

Irance muče i iznimno visoke temperature, zagađenje i poplave.

"Najveći su problem globalne klimatske promjene. No, dio problema je i u lošem upravljanju resursima, lošim okolišnim politikama, nedostatku planiranja i nepripremljenosti za ovakve situacije", izjavio je Kaveh Madani, bivši zamjenik čelnika Ureda za zaštitu okoliša Irana, danas zaposlen na američkom sveučilištu Yale.

Čelnik Iranskog ureda za zaštitu okoliša Masoumeh Ebtekar pozivao je zato na poljoprivrednu revoluciju.

Iran se isključivo oslanja na hranu koju proizvode domaći poljoprivrednici, što znači povećanu potrošnju podzemnih voda, koji se brze potroše, no što se obnove.

Isušivanje močvara i rijeka Irana može izazvati opasne pješčane oluje, a njihovi građani opasno su frustrirani i zbog desetkovane ekonomije koja je slomljena američkim sankcijama, kao i sporim cijepljenjem usred porasta broja infekcija i smrtnih slučajeva COVID-19 posljednjih tjedana. Svoja prava izlaskom na ulice traže i medicinske sestre, radnici, penzioneri i tisuće sezonskih naftnih radnika.

Direktiva o vodi za piće

U Europi su svjesni problema koje može uzrokovati nestašica vode. Europski parlament tako je krajem prošle godine odobrio dogovor s državama članicama o novoj Direktivi o vodi za piće.

Novim pravilima želi se poboljšati kvaliteta vode iz vodovoda u cijeloj Uniji. Odgovor je to na zahtjeve gotovo dva milijuna Europljana koji su podržali inicijativu „Right2Water” za poboljšanje dostupnosti sigurne vode za piće svim Europljanima, prvu uspješno provedenu europsku građansku inicijativu.

Kako prenosi Jutarnji list, u tu svrhu države članice osigurat će besplatnu opskrbu vodom u javnim zgradama, a restorane, kantine i druge ugostiteljske objekte poticat će da nude vodu iz slavine besplatno ili uz nisku naknadu. Države članice trebale bi poboljšati i dostupnost vode ranjivim skupinama poput izbjeglica, nomadskih zajednica, beskućnika i manjinskih kultura poput Roma i Čergara.

”Vrijeme je da je ažuriramo i postrožimo granične vrijednosti za neke onečišćujuće tvari poput olova. Parlamentu je bilo najvažnije da zahvaljujući novoj direktivi voda za piće bude još sigurnija te da se u obzir uzmu i nove onečišćujuće tvari. Stoga pozdravljam odredbe o mikroplastici i endokrinim disruptorima poput bisfenola A”, izjavio je Christophe Hansen (EPP, Luksemburg).

Prosvjedi u Iranu, izazvani nestašicom pitke vode, potvrdili su strahove znanstvenika koji su još 2015. upozorili kako bi taj problem mogao uzrokovati egzodus milijuna Iranaca, piše Jutarnji list.

Situaciju je najlakše opisati primjerom jezera Urmije. Jedno od najvećih slanih jezera na svijetu, danas je simbol ekološke katastrofe. Nekada se prostiralo na više od 3.100 kvadratnih kilometara, da bi se do 2015. smanjilo na deseti dio te površine.

Presušuje i rijeka Karun, žila kucavica regije Khuzestan. U srpnju su u toj regiji, gdje se proizvode i velike količine nafte, stanovnici izašli na ulice zbog nestašice vode, a prosvjedovalo se i protiv isključenja struje, izazvanim prestankom rada hidroelektrana. Nestanak struje posljedica je i velike potrošnje, tj. opterećenja elektroene...
