Mjesecima Ukrajina kumi i moli Amerikance da joj pošalju ATACMS rakete dugog dometa. Nakon zadnjeg posjeta ukrajinskog predsjednika Zelenskog Washingtonu, američki lider Joe Biden je popustio i potiho poslao pošiljku u Kijev. Samo nekoliko dana nakon što su dugoočekivane balističke rakete stigle, Ukrajinci su njima napali dvije ruske zračne baze u okupiranim gradovima Berdjansk i Lugansk. Tamo je prema procjeni neovisnih analitičara pogođeno devet ruskih helikoptera, baterija protuzračne obrane i skladište streljiva. U tim su bazama već dulje vrijeme raspoređene veće količine zrakoplovne tehnike, posebice helikoptera, za koje su Rusi držali da su sigurni i izvan standardnih dometa većine dosadašnjih ukrajinskih oružja. To se sad, međutim, promijenilo.

"ATACMS-i su se dokazali", zadovoljno je konstatirao jučer ukrajinski predsjednik Volodimir Zelenski.

Na osnovi videosnimaka napada, a na kojima se mogu vidjeti ostaci dijela MGM-140 ATACMS, vojni stručnjaci su zaključili da je američka administracija Ukrajincima poslala verziju M39 Block 1.

Vojni taktički raketni sustav američke vojske M39 je vođeni projektil dugog dometa težak dvije tone, s raketnim motorom na čvrsto gorivo i bojnom glavom koja sadrži 950 komada podstreljiva veličine granate. Ispaljen lanserom na gusjenicama ili na kotačima, ovaj projektil s kasetnim bojnim glavama iz 1990-ih ima domet do 160 kilometara. Prema ocjeni Forbesa već 33 godine, M39 je jedno od najmoćnijih streljiva dubokog udara u američkom arsenalu. A sada je to jedno od najmoćnijih streljiva dubokog udara u ukrajinskom arsenalu.

Smatra se da bi dolazak M39, čak 21 mjesec nakon ruskog napada na Kijev, mogao signalizirati promjenu u ravnoteži vatrene moći dok se približava treća zima rata. "Vjerujemo da će ovo pružiti značajan poticaj ukrajinskim sposobnostima na bojnom polju", ocijenio je glasnogovornik američkog Vijeća za nacionalnu sigurnost.

Ne radi se ni o kakvom Wunderwaffe čudesnom oružju koje može samo dobiti rat, no može Rusima zakomplicirati situaciju jer su sad mnoge njihove zračne baze, kao i one na Krimu te skladišta streljiva, na ukrajinskom dometu. 

Nije samo domet ono što bi trebalo brinuti Ruse, jer Ukrajina ima rakete koje prelaze taj domet, nego činjenica da unutar tog dometa M39 ima svojih gotovo tisuću kasetnih bombica. Ne probija se kroz beton i čelik na način kako to može britanski Storm Shadow, no prosipa svoje ubojito kasetno podstreljivo po tisućama četvornih metara. Nije bez razloga američka vojska, kada je testirala M39, uperila projektil na lažni aerodrom na kojem je služba parkirala stare helikoptere i kamione. Snimka tog testiranja vrlo je zorno pokazala moć podstreljiva.

Zračne luke, ruska zapovjedna mjesta, skladišta streljiva i goriva, servisi opreme, područja za stacioniranje trupa, logistička čvorišta – svi su u opasnosti. ATACMS daje Ukrajini mogućnost da većinu ruske vojne imovine visoke vrijednosti drži izloženu riziku sve dok je u Ukrajini. 

Rusi bi mogli ciljati američke višecijevne lansere M270 na gusjenicama i na kotačima koji ispaljuju M39. Ali ako je istina što tvrde Ukrajinci, dosad nisu izgubili ni jedan od svojih šezdesetak bacača M270 i HIMARS-a.

Kako bi se bolje zaštitili od projektila M39, Rusi će morati promijeniti svoje ponašanje. I u tome je cijela poanta, objašnjava analitičarka Brynn Tannehill jer projektil "stvara razne vrste dilema i kalkulacija bez dobrih odgovora".

Primjerice, mogli bi prisiliti ruske zračne snage da povuku svoje preostale jurišne helikoptere Kamov Ka-52 iz Berdjanska i drugih baza u okupiranoj Ukrajini i umjesto toga upravljaju njima iz baza izvan dometa ATACMS-a, u Rusiji.

Naravno da Ka-52 helikopteri mogu letjeti do fronte iz Rusije, ali njihovo vrijeme provedeno u zraku nad Ukrajinom bitno se smanjuje jer se dodaje dodatnih 50 nautičkih milja koje moraju preletjeti da bi stigli do fronte ako operiraju iz Taganroga u Rusiji. "Na taj način M39 projektili mogli bi smanjiti rusku zračnu moć, a da zapravo ne napadaju sve ruske zračne baze duž prve linije bojišnice", ocjenjuje Forbes.

Američka vojska ima popriličan broj starijih M39 projektila. Tijekom devedesetih nabavili su oko 1700 komada od Lockheed Martina, a u ratu s Irakom potrošili oko 400. Vojska je nadogradila neke M39 na M57 s GPS navođenjem, no smatra se da imaju još oko 700 starijih projektila. Prvi put kada je američka vojska ispalila M39 u borbi, u operaciji Pustinjska oluja 1991., meta je bila iračka protuzračna obrambena baterija S-75 koja je prijetila ratnim zrakoplovima koalicije.

Sjedinjene Države mogle bi opskrbiti Ukrajinu s dovoljno M39 da drže u opasnosti vitalne ruske objekte diljem okupirane Ukrajine godinu ili više.

Mjesecima Ukrajina kumi i moli Amerikance da joj pošalju ATACMS rakete dugog dometa. Nakon zadnjeg posjeta ukrajinskog predsjednika Zelenskog Washingtonu, američki lider Joe Biden je popustio i potiho poslao pošiljku u Kijev. Samo nekoliko dana nakon što su dugoočekivane balističke rakete stigle, Ukrajinci su njima napali dvije ruske zračne baze u okupiranim gradovima Berdjansk i Lugansk. Tamo je prema procjeni neovisnih analitičara pogođeno devet ruskih helikoptera, baterija protuzračne obrane i skladište streljiva. U tim su bazama već dulje vrijeme raspoređene veće količine zrakoplovne tehnike, posebice helikoptera, za koje su Rusi držali da su sigurni i izvan standardnih dometa većine dosadašnjih ukrajinskih oružja. To se sad, međutim, promijenilo.

"ATACMS-i su se dokazali", zadovoljno je konstatirao jučer ukrajinski predsjednik Volodimir Zelenski.

Na osnovi videosnimaka napada, a na kojima se mogu vidjeti ostaci dijela MGM-140 ATACMS, vojni stručnjaci su zaključili da je američka administracija Ukrajincima poslala verziju M39 Block 1.

Vojni taktički raketni sustav američke vojske M39 je vođeni projektil dugog dometa težak dvije tone, s raketnim motorom na čvrsto gorivo i bojnom glavom koja sadrži 950 komada podstreljiva veličine granate. Ispaljen lanserom na gusjenicama ili na kotačima, ovaj projektil s kasetnim bojnim glavama iz 1990-ih ima domet do 160 kilometara. Prema ocjeni Forbesa već 33 godine, M39 je jedno od najmoćnijih streljiva dubokog udara u američkom arsenalu. A sada je to jedno od najmoćnijih streljiva dubokog udara u ukrajinskom arsenalu.

Smatra se da bi dolazak M39, čak 21 mjesec nakon ruskog napada na Kijev, mogao signalizirati promjenu u ravnoteži vatrene moći dok se približava treća zima rata. "Vjerujemo da će ovo pružiti značajan poticaj ukrajinskim sposobnostima na bojnom polju", ocijenio je glasnogovornik američkog Vijeća za nacionalnu sigurnost.

Ne radi se ni o kakvom Wunderwaffe čudesnom oružju koje može samo dobiti rat, no može Rusima zakomplicirati situaciju jer su sad mnoge njihove zračne baze, kao i one na Krimu te skladišta streljiva, na ukrajinskom dometu. 

Nije samo domet ono što bi trebalo brinuti Ruse, jer Ukrajina ima rakete koje prelaze taj domet, nego činjenica da unutar tog dometa M39 ima svojih gotovo tisuću kasetnih bombica. Ne probija se kroz beton i čelik na način kako to može britanski Storm Shadow, no prosipa svoje ubojito kasetno podstreljivo po tisućama četvornih metara. Nije bez razloga američka vojska, kada je testirala M39, uperila projektil na lažni aerodrom na kojem je služba parkirala stare helikoptere i kamione. Snimka tog testiranja vrlo je zorno pokazala moć podstreljiva.

Zračne luke, ruska zapovjedna mjesta, skladišta streljiva i goriva, servisi opreme, područja za stacioniranje trupa, logistička čvorišta – svi su u opasnosti. ATACMS daje Ukrajini mogućnost da većinu ruske vojne imovine visoke vrijednosti drži izloženu riziku sve dok je u Ukrajini. 

Rusi bi mogli ciljati američke višecijevne lansere M270 na gusjenicama i na kotačima koji ispaljuju M39. Ali ako je istina što tvrde Ukrajinci, dosad nisu izgubili ni jedan od svojih šezdesetak bacača M270 i HIMARS-a.

Kako bi se bolje zaštitili od projektila M39, Rusi će morati promijeniti svoje ponašanje. I u tome je cijela poanta, objašnjava analitičarka Brynn Tannehill jer projektil "stvara razne vrste dilema i kalkulacija bez dobrih odgovora".

Primjerice, mogli bi prisiliti ruske zračne snage da povuku svoje preostale jurišne helikoptere Kamov Ka-52 iz Berdjanska i drugih baza u okupiranoj Ukrajini i umjesto toga upravljaju njima iz baza izvan dometa ATACMS-a, u Rusiji.

Naravno da Ka-52 helikopteri mogu letjeti do fronte iz Rusije, ali njihovo vrijeme provedeno u zraku nad Ukrajinom bitno se smanjuje jer se dodaje dodatnih 50 nautičkih milja koje moraju preletjeti da bi stigli do fronte ako operiraju iz Taganroga u Rusiji. "Na taj način M39 projektili mogli bi smanjiti rusku zračnu moć, a da zapravo ne napadaju sve ruske zračne baze duž prve linije bojišnice", ocjenjuje Forbes.

Američka vojska ima popriličan broj starijih M39 projektila. Tijekom devedesetih nabavili su oko 1700 komada od Lockheed Martina, a u ratu s Irakom potrošili oko 400. Vojska je nadogradila neke M39 na M57 s GPS navođenjem, no smatra se da imaju još oko 700 starijih projektila. Prvi put kada je američka vojska ispalila M39 u borbi, u operaciji Pustinjska oluja 1991., meta je bila iračka protuzračna obrambena baterija S-75 koja je prijetila ratnim zrakoplovima koalicije.

Sjedinjene Države mogle bi opskrbiti Ukrajinu s dovoljno M39 da drže u opasnosti vitalne ruske objekte diljem okupirane Ukrajine godinu ili više.
