Obilna kiša koja je tijekom noći padala na Haitiju izazvala je poplave i otežava nastojanja spasilaca da priteknu u pomoć preživjelima u razornom potresu koji je odnio 1400 ljudskih života i tisuće ostavio bez krova nad glavom.

Potres magnitude 7,2 u najsiromašnijoj je državi sjeverne hemisfere srušio desetke tisuća zgrada. Haiti se još uvijek oporavlja od katastrofalnog potresa koji je zemlju pogodio prije 11 godina i u kojemu je smrtno stradalo više od 200.000 ljudi.

U utorak ujutro je nad Les Cayesom, najteže pogođenim gradom na južnoj obali, padala tek blaga kiša. Prethodno je tropska oluja Grace donijela obilne padaline i izazvala poplave.

U dijelu Les Cayesa u kojemu su podignuti šatori i u kojemu je puno male djece i beba, stotine ljudi pokušavale su popraviti improvizirane obloge od drvenih stupova i cerada koje je Grace preko noći uništila.

Mathieu Jameson, zamjenik voditelja povjerenstva koje su osnovali stanovnici šatorskog naselja novinarima je rekao da su stotinama ljudi hitno potrebni hrana i medicinska njega.

"Nemamo liječnika. Nemamo hrane. Svako jutro ovamo stiže sve više ljudi. Nemamo kupaonice, nemamo mjesta za spavanje.

Treba nam hrana, treba nam više suncobrana", rekao je Jameson, dodavši da korisnici šatorskog naselja još uvijek čekaju pomoć države.

Nekoliko velikih bolnica teže je oštećeno, što ometa i usporava humanitarne napore. Slično je s crkvama i školama. "Trenutno je ovdje hospitalizirano oko 34 djece, ali trebamo više pedijatara. SOS", napisala je u SMS-u Marie Cherry, liječnica u općoj bolnici Les Cayes.

Liječnici su radili u improviziranim šatorima izvan bolnica da bi spasili živote stotina ozlijeđenih, među kojima je bilo puno male djece i starijih osoba. Vlasti Haitija u ponedjeljak su objavile informaciju o 1419 smrtno stradalih i 6900 ozlijeđenih.

Nacionalni centar za uragane je objavio da se oluja Grace premjestila prema Jamajci.

Obilna kiša koja je tijekom noći padala na Haitiju izazvala je poplave i otežava nastojanja spasilaca da priteknu u pomoć preživjelima u razornom potresu koji je odnio 1400 ljudskih života i tisuće ostavio bez krova nad glavom.

Potres magnitude 7,2 u najsiromašnijoj je državi sjeverne hemisfere srušio desetke tisuća zgrada. Haiti se još uvijek oporavlja od katastrofalnog potresa koji je zemlju pogodio prije 11 godina i u kojemu je smrtno stradalo više od 200.000 ljudi.

U utorak ujutro je nad Les Cayesom, najteže pogođenim gradom na južnoj obali, padala tek blaga kiša. Prethodno je tropska oluja Grace donijela obilne padaline i izazvala poplave.

U dijelu Les Cayesa u kojemu su podignuti šatori i u kojemu je puno male djece i beba, stotine ljudi pokušavale su popraviti improvizirane obloge od drvenih stupova i cerada koje je Grace preko noći uništila.

Mathieu Jameson, zamjenik voditelja povjerenstva koje su osnovali stanovnici šatorskog naselja novinarima je rekao da su stotinama ljudi hitno potrebni hrana i medicinska njega.

"Nemamo liječnika. Nemamo hrane. Svako jutro ovamo stiže sve više ljudi. Nemamo kupaonice, nemamo mjesta za spavanje.

Treba nam hrana, treba nam više suncobrana", rekao je Jameson, dodavši da korisnici šatorskog naselja još uvijek čekaju pomoć države.

Nekoliko velikih bolnica teže je oštećeno, što ometa i usporava humanitarne napore. Slično je s crkvama i školama. "Trenutno je ovdje hospitalizirano oko 34 djece, ali trebamo više pedijatara. SOS", napisala je u SMS-u Marie Cherry, liječnica u općoj bolnici Les Cayes.

Liječnici su radili u improviziranim šatorima izvan bolnica da bi spasili živote stotina ozlijeđenih, među kojima je bilo puno male djece i starijih osoba. Vlasti Haitija u ponedjeljak su objavile informaciju o 1419 smrtno stradalih i 6900 ozlijeđenih.

Nacionalni centar za uragane je objavio da se oluja Grace premjestila prema Jamajci.

Obilna kiša koja je tijekom noći padala na Haitiju izazvala je poplave i otežava nastojanja spasilaca da priteknu u pomoć preživjelima u razornom potresu koji je odnio 1400 ljudskih života i tisuće ostavio bez krova nad glavom.

Potres magnitude 7,2 u najsiromašnijoj je državi sjeverne hemisfere srušio desetke tisuća zgrada. Haiti se još uvijek oporavlja od katastrofalnog potresa koji je zemlju pogodio prije 11 godina i u kojemu je smrtno stradalo više od 200.000 ljudi.

U utorak ujutro je nad Les Cayesom, najteže pogođenim gradom na južnoj obali, padala tek blaga kiša. Prethodno je tropska oluja Grace donijela obilne padaline i izazvala poplave.

U dijelu Les Cayesa u kojemu su podignuti šatori i u kojemu je puno male djece i beba, stotine ljudi pokušavale su popravit...
