Duge prometne gužve na prilaznim cestama do plaža i izletničkih destinacija, kaos s parkingom, manjak taksista i još problemi s pitkom vodom: Mallorca, najposjećeniji otok za odmor u Europi je na granici izdržljivosti. Toliko da su pozivi na ograničavanje masovnog turizma sve glasniji. "Ne možemo nastaviti s rastom", kaže vlada toga otoka - i razmišlja o koracima kako se suprotstaviti mogućem kolapsu.

Turisti koji se voze po Mallorci u ovim kasnim ljetnim danima često se osjećaju kao da su u svom rodnom gradu tijekom prometne gužve. Umjesto romantične samoće na prelijepim prometnicama uz obalu, oni "zaglave" na cesti. Duge limene karavane automobila za iznajmljivanje vijugaju do poznate prirodne plaže Es Trenc, do slikovitih naselja Deia i Valldemossa ili do popularnih vidikovaca kao što je Cap Formentor na sjeveru otoka, piše Deutsche Welle.

Nakon vožnje u konvoju slijedi iscrpljujuća potraga za parkiralištem. U nedostatku parking-mjesta, pristupne ceste, prilazi i izlazi za slučaj opasnosti su blokirani. Situacija je užasna, žali se Lluís Apesteguia, načelnik živopisnog mjesta Deia sa svojih 700 stanovnika, koji je doslovno preplavljen mnoštvom posjetitelja. Mnogi umjetnici žive u tom naselju, a holivudska zvijezda Michael Douglas posjeduje luksuznu fincu u neposrednoj blizini.

U općini Deia nalazi se i vidikovac Sa Foradada, koji svake večeri posjećuju gomile turista kako bi uživali u zalasku sunca. Prilaz krivudavim i uskim panoramskim putem je fantastičan i prelijep, ali može postati noćna mora u gustom prometu. "Ako uskoro ne pronađemo rješenje, kad-tad će se dogoditi kakva nesreća", kaže načelnik Apesteguia.

Nestašica vode

Deia je jedno od onih mjesta na Mallorci koje postaje sve popularnije. U međuvremenu, nakon nekoliko mjeseci bez kiše, morala se racionalizirati upotreba vode za piće. Bunari podzemnih voda su prazni, to mjesto mora se opskrbljivati cisternama. Zabranjeno je punjenje bazena, privatni vrtovi više se ne smiju zalijevati. Uskoro bi voda mogla biti potpuno isključena na nekoliko sati. Voda postaje oskudno dobro i u drugim otočnim mjestima kao što su Campos, Arta, Soller i Manacor.

S obzirom na sve veće probleme na otoku, regionalni ministar ekologije Miquel Mir poziva na "obuzdavanje" turizma. A također i na "smirivanje" građevinskih djelatnosti, jer se tako, kaže on, sve više uništava pejzaž. "Potrebni su nam umjerenost, smanjenje broja turista i smanjenje urbanoga rasta".

Debata na Mallorci nije nova. Vlada ovoga otoka već je ranije usvojila moratorij koji ograničava broj turističkih kreveta na 430.000. Pored toga, samo tri kruzera dnevno mogu pristati u luku u Palmi.

Poplava turista

No s obzirom na to da je broj turista naglo pao u dvije pandemijske godine 2020. i 2021., privremeno se nisu mogle čuti žalbe na račun ekscesivnog masovnog turizma. Ovoga ljeta vratile su se tradicionalne gužve - a s njima su došli i stari problemi, piše Deutsche Welle.

Hoteli su bili gotovo u potpunosti popunjeni u srpnju i kolovozu. Ni rat u Ukrajini, ni galopirajuća inflacija, ni kaos na europskim aerodromima nisu mogli usporiti dolazak turista. "Nakon ograničenja zbog covida-19, postojala je velika želja da se ide na odmor", kaže Maria Frontera, direktorica Udruženja hotelijera Mallorce.

U prvih šest mjeseci 2022. došlo je 4,6 milijuna turista. U usporedbi s 2019., Mallorca je skoro dosegla broj posjetitelja koji je bio registriran prije pandemije. Prema preliminarnim informacijama, u srpnju i kolovozu, tradicionalno mjesecima s najviše gostiju, bilo je čak i više turista nego 2019.

Poziv u pomoć

Sudeći prema rezervacijama, porast broja dolazaka nastavlja se i u rujnu. Dakle, 2022. bi mogla biti još jedna rekordna godina. Uzgred, turisti koji pričaju njemački daju poseban doprinos turističkom uspjehu Mallorce: oni čine skoro 40 posto svih gostiju, piše Deutsche Welle.

Nakon dvije "mršave" godine, hotelijeri se raduju punim blagajnama, ali raste nezadovoljstvo među stanovništvom. Lokalna ekološka organizacija Terraferida pokrenula je kampanju "SOS Residentes" kako bi skrenula pažnju na činjenicu da se mnogi mještani osjećaju "pritisnutima" masovnim turizmom. "Popunjenost kapaciteta prešla je sve granice", objašnjavaju ekolozi Terraferide (Povrijeđena zemlja). Krajnje je vrijeme da se poduzmu kontramjere, jer "inače smo gotovi", upozoravaju oni.

Duge prometne gužve na prilaznim cestama do plaža i izletničkih destinacija, kaos s parkingom, manjak taksista i još problemi s pitkom vodom: Mallorca, najposjećeniji otok za odmor u Europi je na granici izdržljivosti. Toliko da su pozivi na ograničavanje masovnog turizma sve glasniji. "Ne možemo nastaviti s rastom", kaže vlada toga otoka - i razmišlja o koracima kako se suprotstaviti mogućem kolapsu.

Turisti koji se voze po Mallorci u ovim kasnim ljetnim danima često se osjećaju kao da su u svom rodnom gradu tijekom prometne gužve. Umjesto romantične samoće na prelijepim prometnicama uz obalu, oni "zaglave" na cesti. Duge limene karavane automobila za iznajmljivanje vijugaju do poznate prirodne plaže Es Trenc, do slikovitih naselja Deia i Valldemossa ili do popularnih vidikovaca kao što je Cap Formentor na sjeveru otoka, piše Deutsche Welle.

Nakon vožnje u konvoju slijedi iscrpljujuća potraga za parkiralištem. U nedostatku parking-mjesta, pristupne ceste, prilazi i izlazi za slučaj opasnosti su blokirani. Situacija je užasna, žali se Lluís Apesteguia, načelnik živopisnog mjesta Deia sa svojih 700 stanovnika, koji je doslovno preplavljen mnoštvom posjetitelja. Mnogi umjetnici žive u tom naselju, a holivudska zvijezda Michael Douglas posjeduje luksuznu fincu u neposrednoj blizini.

U općini Deia nalazi se i vidikovac Sa Foradada, koji svake večeri posjećuju gomile turista kako bi uživali u zalasku sunca. Prilaz krivudavim i uskim panoramskim putem je fantastičan i prelijep, ali može postati noćna mora u gustom prometu. "Ako uskoro ne pronađemo rješenje, kad-tad će se dogoditi kakva nesreća", kaže načelnik Apesteguia.

Nestašica vode

Deia je jedno od onih mjesta na Mallorci koje postaje sve popularnije. U međuvremenu, nakon nekoliko mjeseci bez kiše, morala se racionalizirati upotreba vode za piće. Bunari podzemnih voda su prazni, to mjesto mora se opskrbljivati cisternama. Zabranjeno je punjenje bazena, privatni vrtovi više se ne smiju zalijevati. Uskoro bi voda mogla biti potpuno isključena na nekoliko sati. Voda postaje oskudno dobro i u drugim otočnim mjestima kao što su Campos, Arta, Soller i Manacor.

S obzirom na sve veće probleme na otoku, regionalni ministar ekologije Miquel Mir poziva na "obuzdavanje" turizma. A također i na "smirivanje" građevinskih djelatnosti, jer se tako, kaže on, sve više uništava pejzaž. "Potrebni su nam umjerenost, smanjenje broja turista i smanjenje urbanoga rasta".

Debata na Mallorci nije nova. Vlada ovoga otoka već je ranije usvojila moratorij koji ograničava broj turističkih kreveta na 430.000. Pored toga, samo tri kruzera dnevno mogu pristati u luku u Palmi.

Poplava turista

No s obzirom na to da je broj turista naglo pao u dvije pandemijske godine 2020. i 2021., privremeno se nisu mogle čuti žalbe na račun ekscesivnog masovnog turizma. Ovoga ljeta vratile su se tradicionalne gužve - a s njima su došli i stari problemi, piše Deutsche Welle.

Hoteli su bili gotovo u potpunosti popunjeni u srpnju i kolovozu. Ni rat u Ukrajini, ni galopirajuća inflacija, ni kaos na europskim aerodromima nisu mogli usporiti dolazak turista. "Nakon ograničenja zbog covida-19, postojala je velika želja da se ide na odmor", kaže Maria Frontera, direktorica Udruženja hotelijera Mallorce.

U prvih šest mjeseci 2022. došlo je 4,6 milijuna turista. U usporedbi s 2019., Mallorca je skoro dosegla broj posjetitelja koji je bio registriran prije pandemije. Prema preliminarnim informacijama, u srpnju i kolovozu, tradicionalno mjesecima s najviše gostiju, bilo je čak i više turista nego 2019.

Poziv u pomoć

Sudeći prema rezervacijama, porast broja dolazaka nastavlja se i u rujnu. Dakle, 2022. bi mogla biti još jedna rekordna godina. Uzgred, turisti koji pričaju njemački daju poseban doprinos turističkom uspjehu Mallorce: oni čine skoro 40 posto svih gostiju, piše Deutsche Welle.

Nakon dvije "mršave" godine, hotelijeri se raduju punim blagajnama, ali raste nezadovoljstvo među stanovništvom. Lokalna ekološka organizacija Terraferida pokrenula je kampanju "SOS Residentes" kako bi skrenula pažnju na činjenicu da se mnogi mještani osjećaju "pritisnutima" masovnim turizmom. "Popunjenost kapaciteta prešla je sve granice", objašnjavaju ekolozi Terraferide (Povrijeđena zemlja). Krajnje je vrijeme da se poduzmu kontramjere, jer "inače smo gotovi", upozoravaju oni.
