Nekoliko dana nakon što je počeo rat u Ukrajini, predsjednik Volodimir Zelenski je zatražio od izraelskog premijera Naftalija Bennetta da posreduje u pregovorima između sukobljenih strana. U prošlotjednom intervju, objavljenom na njegovom YouTube kanalu, Izraelac je prepričao kako su SAD i ostali zapadni saveznici "blokirali" napore smirivanja tenzija, sabotirajući obostranu želju da se rat okonča u njegovim prvim danima.

Bennett je 4. ožujka 2022. otputovao u Rusiju kako bi se sastao s Vladimirom Putinom, pri čemu su razgovori bili koordinirani sa SAD-om, Francuskom, Njemačkom i Velikom Britanijom. Izraelac je rekao da su obje države pristale na velike ustupke tijekom njegova posredovanja.

Što se tiče ruske strane, ona je odustala od "denacifikacije", kao uvjeta za prekid vatre. Pri tome, denacifikacija je definirana kao uklanjanje Zelenskog, za kojeg je Putin jamčio da ga neće pokušati ubiti. Drugi ustupak koji je Rusija bila spremna napraviti jest da neće tražiti razoružanje Ukrajine. Druga strana se pritom odrekla traženja članstva u NATO-u, što je Bennett rekao da je "razlog" ruske invazije.

Izvješća iz tog razdoblja, koja su zabilježila da Rusija i Ukrajina omekšavaju svoja stajališta, potvrđuju komentare bivšeg premijera. Citirajući izraelske dužnosnike, Axios je 8. ožujka izvijestio da je ruski prijedlog Zelenskom "teško prihvatiti, ali nije tako ekstreman kao što su očekivali". Također je spomenuto da prijedlog "ne uključuje promjenu režima u Kijevu i omogućuje Ukrajini da zadrži svoj suverenitet".

Prenoseći tadašnje stavove zapadnih čelnika o ovim diplomatskim naporima, Bennett je kazao da je tadašnji britanski premijer Boris Johnson zauzeo "agresivan stav", dok su Emmanuel Macron i Olaf Scholz bili "pragmatičniji". Joe Biden je, tvrdi Netanyahuov prethodnik, usvojio "oba" stajališta.

Ipak, kako je vrijeme odmicalo, zapadni čelnici su se svi više protivili Bennetovim nastojanjima. “Reći ću ovo u širem smislu. Mislim da je donešena legitimna odluka Zapada da nastavi udarati po Putinu, a ne (pregovarati)", iznio je intervjuirani. Na pitanje jesu li zapadne sile "blokirale" posredovanje, Bennet je rekao: "Uglavnom, da. Blokirali su ga i mislio sam da su pogriješili.”

Kasnije u ožujku, dužnosnici ovih zemalja su se sastali u Istanbulu, nakon čega su uslijedile virtualne konzultacije. Prema izjavama bivših američkih dužnosnika, dvije su se strane složile oko okvira za dogovor. Ruski dužnosnici, uključujući predsjednika, tada su javno obznanli da je primirje blizu. "Nakon pregovora u Istanbulu, predstavnici Kijeva izrazili su prilično pozitivan odgovor na naše prijedloge...ali Zapadu očito nije odgovaralo mirno rješenje, zbog čega je Kijevu...zapravo naređeno da poruši sve te sporazume", prisjetio se Putin.

Isto je prenio i Foreign Affairs, napisavši da se "činilo se da su se pregovarači provizorno dogovorili o obrisima privremenog rješenja", pri čemu će se "Rusija povući na svoj položaj od 23. veljače", a u zamjenu bi Ukrajina "obećala da neće tražiti članstvo u NATO-u i umjesto toga dobila sigurnosna jamstva od niza zemalja". 

Bloomberg je pak izvijestio da su mu izvori iz vlada SAD-a i UK-a rekli da njihova agenda nije pregovarati o miru, već promjena režima u Moskvi. "Rusija će biti država izgnanica, nikada dobrodošla natrag u zajednicu naroda. Kina... će vidjeti da je Rusija odsječena...i morat će ponovno procijeniti kinesko-rusku osovinu. Demokracija i Zapad bi se mogli osvrnuti na ovo kao na ključni trenutak jačanja.”

U travnju, nakon što je Biden zavapio: "Pobogu, Putin ne može ostati na vlasti!", Johnson je posjetio je Kijev, pozivajući Zelenskog da ne pregovara s Putinom koji je "ratni zločinac kojeg treba pritiskati, a ne pregovarati s njim". Prema izvješću Ukrajinske Pravde, Britanac je istaknuo da čak i ako je Ukrajina spremna potpisati sporazum s Rusijom, zapadni podupiratelji Kijeva to nisu.

Kasnije istog mjeseca, turski ministar vanjskih poslova Mevlut Cavusoglu pojasnio je da neke zemlje NATO-a žele produžiti rat u Ukrajini. “Nakon razgovora u Istanbulu nismo mislili da će rat trajati ovoliko dugo... Ali, nakon sastanka ministara vanjskih poslova NATO-a, stekao se dojam da...postoje oni unutar država članica NATO-a koji žele da se rat nastavi, dopustiti će da se rat nastavi, a Rusija oslabi. Ne mare mnogo za situaciju u Ukrajini”, posvjedočio je Cavusoglu.

Svega par dana kasnije, ministar obrane Lloyd Austin priznao je da je jedan od ciljeva SAD-a pri podršci Ukrajini "vidjeti Rusiju oslabljenu", a senator Joe Manchin dodao da "nikada nije vidio bolju priliku od ove za učiniti ono što treba".

A koliko su se američke vizije ostvarile, pokazuje izvješće Centra za analizu europske politike, financiranog iz Washingtona, pod naslovom "SAD košta kikiriki da porazi Rusiju", a koje kaže: "Američka potrošnja od 5,6 posto svog obrambenog proračuna za uništavanje gotovo polovice ruske konvencionalne vojne sposobnosti čini se kao apsolutno nevjerojatna investicija."

Nekoliko dana nakon što je počeo rat u Ukrajini, predsjednik Volodimir Zelenski je zatražio od izraelskog premijera Naftalija Bennetta da posreduje u pregovorima između sukobljenih strana. U prošlotjednom intervju, objavljenom na njegovom YouTube kanalu, Izraelac je prepričao kako su SAD i ostali zapadni saveznici "blokirali" napore smirivanja tenzija, sabotirajući obostranu želju da se rat okonča u njegovim prvim danima.

Bennett je 4. ožujka 2022. otputovao u Rusiju kako bi se sastao s Vladimirom Putinom, pri čemu su razgovori bili koordinirani sa SAD-om, Francuskom, Njemačkom i Velikom Britanijom. Izraelac je rekao da su obje države pristale na velike ustupke tijekom njegova posredovanja.

Što se tiče ruske strane, ona je odustala od "denacifikacije", kao uvjeta za prekid vatre. Pri tome, denacifikacija je definirana kao uklanjanje Zelenskog, za kojeg je Putin jamčio da ga neće pokušati ubiti. Drugi ustupak koji je Rusija bila spremna napraviti jest da neće tražiti razoružanje Ukrajine. Druga strana se pritom odrekla traženja članstva u NATO-u, što je Bennett rekao da je "razlog" ruske invazije.

Izvješća iz tog razdoblja, koja su zabilježila da Rusija i Ukrajina omekšavaju svoja stajališta, potvrđuju komentare bivšeg premijera. Citirajući izraelske dužnosnike, Axios je 8. ožujka izvijestio da je ruski prijedlog Zelenskom "teško prihvatiti, ali nije tako ekstreman kao što su očekivali". Također je spomenuto da prijedlog "ne uključuje promjenu režima u Kijevu i omogućuje Ukrajini da zadrži svoj suverenitet".

Prenoseći tadašnje stavove zapadnih čelnika o ovim diplomatskim naporima, Bennett je kazao da je tadašnji britanski premijer Boris Johnson zauzeo "agresivan stav", dok su Emmanuel Macron i Olaf Scholz bili "pragmatičniji". Joe Biden je, tvrdi Netanyahuov prethodnik, usvojio "oba" stajališta.

Ipak, kako je vrijeme odmicalo, zapadni čelnici su se svi više protivili Bennetovim nastojanjima. “Reći ću ovo u širem smislu. Mislim da je donešena legitimna odluka Zapada da nastavi udarati po Putinu, a ne (pregovarati)", iznio je intervjuirani. Na pitanje jesu li zapadne sile "blokirale" posredovanje, Bennet je rekao: "Uglavnom, da. Blokirali su ga i mislio sam da su pogriješili.”

Kasnije u ožujku, dužnosnici ovih zemalja su se sastali u Istanbulu, nakon čega su uslijedile virtualne konzultacije. Prema izjavama bivših američkih dužnosnika, dvije su se strane složile oko okvira za dogovor. Ruski dužnosnici, uključujući predsjednika, tada su javno obznanli da je primirje blizu. "Nakon pregovora u Istanbulu, predstavnici Kijeva izrazili su prilično pozitivan odgovor na naše prijedloge...ali Zapadu očito nije odgovaralo mirno rješenje, zbog čega je Kijevu...zapravo naređeno da poruši sve te sporazume", prisjetio se Putin.

Isto je prenio i Foreign Affairs, napisavši da se "činilo se da su se pregovarači provizorno dogovorili o obrisima privremenog rješenja", pri čemu će se "Rusija povući na svoj položaj od 23. veljače", a u zamjenu bi Ukrajina "obećala da neće tražiti članstvo u NATO-u i umjesto toga dobila sigurnosna jamstva od niza zemalja". 

Bloomberg je pak izvijestio da su mu izvori iz vlada SAD-a i UK-a rekli da njihova agenda nije pregovarati o miru, već promjena režima u Moskvi. "Rusija će biti država izgnanica, nikada dobrodošla natrag u zajednicu naroda. Kina... će vidjeti da je Rusija odsječena...i morat će ponovno procijeniti kinesko-rusku osovinu. Demokracija i Zapad bi se mogli osvrnuti na ovo kao na ključni trenutak jačanja.”

U travnju, nakon što je Biden zavapio: "Pobogu, Putin ne može ostati na vlasti!", Johnson je posjetio je Kijev, pozivajući Zelenskog da ne pregovara s Putinom koji je "ratni zločinac kojeg treba pritiskati, a ne pregovarati s njim". Prema izvješću Ukrajinske Pravde, Britanac je istaknuo da čak i ako je Ukrajina spremna potpisati sporazum s Rusijom, zapadni podupiratelji Kijeva to nisu.

Kasnije istog mjeseca, turski ministar vanjskih poslova Mevlut Cavusoglu pojasnio je da neke zemlje NATO-a žele produžiti rat u Ukrajini. “Nakon razgovora u Istanbulu nismo mislili da će rat trajati ovoliko dugo... Ali, nakon sastanka ministara vanjskih poslova NATO-a, stekao se dojam da...postoje oni unutar država članica NATO-a koji žele da se rat nastavi, dopustiti će da se rat nastavi, a Rusija oslabi. Ne mare mnogo za situaciju u Ukrajini”, posvjedočio je Cavusoglu.

Svega par dana kasnije, ministar obrane Lloyd Austin priznao je da je jedan od ciljeva SAD-a pri podršci Ukrajini "vidjeti Rusiju oslabljenu", a senator Joe Manchin dodao da "nikada nije vidio bolju priliku od ove za učiniti ono što treba".

A koliko su se američke vizije ostvarile, pokazuje izvješće Centra za analizu europske politike, financiranog iz Washingtona, pod naslovom "SAD košta kikiriki da porazi Rusiju", a koje kaže: "Američka potrošnja od 5,6 posto svog obrambenog proračuna za uništavanje gotovo polovice ruske konvencionalne vojne sposobnosti čini se kao apsolutno nevjerojatna investicija."
