Australija i Novi Zeland uvedeni su u novi tvrdi lockdown, nakon samo nekoliko stotina utvrđenih slučajeva novozaraženih delta sojem.

Australija i Novi Zeland uvedeni su u novi tvrdi lockdown, nakon samo nekoliko stotina utvrđenih slučajeva novozaraženih delta sojem.

Mnogi smatraju da ove dvije zemlje pretjeruju u svom pandemijskom radikalizmu i agresivnim reakcijama svojih vodstava na svaki nagovještaj novog vala zaraze, no one se čvrsto drže svojega antikorona puta i za svoje stroge eliminacijske strategije u ratu protiv Covida imaju itekako opipljive razloge.

Dva milijuna stanovnika Sydneya našlo se iznova pod obvezom nošenja maski na otvorenome i strogim noćnim policijskim satom od 21 do pet ujutro, nakon što je u državama New South Wales i Victoria prošle subote utvrđeno oko 900 novoinficiranih.

Dnevni radijus kretanja svim stanovnicima ovoga australskog grada i po danu je ograničen na samo pet kilometara od adrese stanovanja. U 3,5 milijunskome Melbourneu je stanovnicima dopušteno izlaziti od kuće samo radi bitnih aktivnosti poput kupovine hrane ili lijekova, njege, cijepljenja i tjelovježbe.

I Novi Zeland je produžio strogo državno zaključavanje 4. razine barem do ponoći 27. kolovoza, dok će najveći grad Auckland, epicentar trenutne epidemije, imati najstroža ograničenja na snazi ​​barem do 31. kolovoza. Delta varijanta probila se na Novi Zeland prošloga tjedna i brzo proširila na stotinjak slučajeva, nakon što je još od veljače ova otočka zemlja bila potpuno lišena koronavirusa.

Ponovni brzi lockdown i naizgled histerične mjere protiv korone izazvale su prilične otpore i u australskoj i u novozelandskoj javnosti. Na ulicama Melbourna Brisbanea i Sydneya prosvjeduju tisuće zahtijevajući ukidanje ograničenja i „prestanak terora“, ali policija nimalo ne preže od otvorene represije: protiv demonstranata koriste se papreni meci i suzavac, a gotovo 300 ljudi je dosad uhićeno zbog napada na policajce.

I deseci policajaca su, međutim, završili u bolnicama. I na Novom Zelandu sve su glasnije kritike covid politike premijerke Jacinde Ardern: zaključavanje prijeti zemlji recesijom, ljudi gube živce, zadovoljstvo zbog iskorijenjene zaraze zamjenjuje brzopotezni pad u ponor depresije zbog novih dokaza neefikasnosti i neizvjesnosti ove dugačke i grčevite borbe.

Obje zemlje – i Australija i Novi Zeland – imaju, međutim, itekako čvrst razlog za nastavak igre strogog bunkera u nošenju s pandemijom. Čak 80 posto od 5,1 milijuna Novozelanđana još nije potpuno cijepljeno s dvije doze, i to se sve više smatra velikim porazom laburističke premijerke.

I Australija također ima više nego skromne rezultate u procijepljenosti stanovništva: samo 22,6 posto od 25 milijuna Australaca je potpuno cijepljeno, što je znatno ispod britanskih 60 ili 50 posto u SAD -u.

Više od godinu dana Australija se smatrala jednom od najuspješnijih priča o suzbijanju Covida-19: zatvorila je granice za gotovo sve strance, uvela stroge karantene za dolaske i agresivne režime testiranja i praćenja kako bi uhvatila sve slučajeve koji su promakli obrani.

No, njezinu strategiju nulte tolerancije na virus srušila je u prah njegova Delta varijanta, za koju australski epidemiolozi sad procjenjuju da se prenosi jednako lako kao i vodene kozice.

Premijerka Novog Južnog Walesa Gladys Berejiklian izjavila je jučer da je soj Delte nešto što Australija dosad nije vidjela: širi se čak i u vrlo strogim i oštrim blokadama, te treba naučiti s njime živjeti.

I drugi australski dužnosnici signaliziraju zadnji tjedan odmak od dosadašnjih pokušaja potpunog iskorjenjivanja koronavirusa. Umjesto svođenja slučajeva zaraze na nulu, sve češće izjavljuju kako će budući njihov posao biti usmjeren na držanje ljudi izvan bolnica dok se ne poveća stopa cijepljenih.

Novozelandska premijerka našla se pod baražnom vatrom oporbe zbog zanemarivanja potrebe hitnosti cijepljenja. "Novi Zeland nije bio pripremljen za dolazak Delte jer laburisti nisu uspjeli osigurati cjepiva koje Kiwiji zaslužuju", izjavila je Judith Collins, čelnica novozelandske oporbene Nacionalne stranke u ponedjeljak, upozoravajući i kako su mnogi radnici na prvoj liniji fronta još uvijek necijepljeni.

Zahvaljujući delti, Australija i Novi Zeland prilično bolno spoznaju kako je lockdown bez cijepljenja kao igranje bunkera u nogometu bez brzih kontranapada: dugoročno jalov posao.

Australija i Novi Zeland uvedeni su u novi tvrdi lockdown, nakon samo nekoliko stotina utvrđenih slučajeva novozaraženih delta sojem.

Mnogi smatraju da ove dvije zemlje pretjeruju u svom pandemijskom radikalizmu i agresivnim reakcijama svojih vodstava na svaki nagovještaj novog vala zaraze, no one se čvrsto drže svojega antikorona puta i za svoje stroge eliminacijske strategije u ratu protiv Covida imaju itekako opipljive razloge.

Dva milijuna stanovnika Sydneya našlo se iznova pod obvezom nošenja maski na otvorenome i strogim noćnim policijskim satom od 21 do pet ujutro, nakon što je u državama New South Wales i Victoria prošle subote utvrđeno oko 900 novoinficiranih.

Dnevni radijus kretanja svim stanovnicima ovoga australskog grada i po danu je ograničen na samo pet kilometa...
