Kapetan hrvatske reprezentacije Luka Modrić rekao je nakon Realovog poraza od 0-4 u polufinalu Lige prvaka da je Manchester City zasluženo pobijedio, no da ovo nije kraj aktualne ekipe "Kraljevskog kluba".

"To je sport, ponekad pobijediš, a ponekad izgubiš. City je zaslužio prolazak u finale", izjavio je 37-godišnji Modrić u obraćanju medijima nakon utakmice.

Manchester City je nadigrao aktualnog prvaka Europe nakon što je prvi susret u Madridu bio završio 1-1.

"Nismo bili dobri. Htjeli smo, dakako, odigrati bolje no City je bio superioran. Trebamo im čestitati i to je to," rekao je Modrić koji je izašao iz igre u 63. minuti.

Španjolski mediji neugodno su iznenađeni visokim porazom i slabom izvedbom kompletne ekipe, gdje se od kritike izvukao jedino vratar Thibaut Courtois.

"Kada se izgubi ovdje to je velika stvar, itekako sam svjestan toga. Znam da nas mnogi sada kritiziraju, no tu smo. S time se trebamo znati nositi. Kritika nas neće dotući. Prihvaćamo konstruktivnu kritiku," rekao je Modrić, koji je s Realom od 2012. godine pet puta osvojio Ligu prvaka. Njemu, kao i još petorici igrača, ugovori istječu 30. lipnja.

Upitan je li došao kraj ciklusa ove momčadi, hrvatski veznjak je odgovorio.

"Sada nije vrijeme za dublje ulaženje u tu temu. Ova ekipa ima još puno toga za dati".

Dio medija je otvorio pitanje ostanka na klupi Carla Ancelottija, koji je ove sezone osvojio tri od mogućih šest trofeja. Sam Ancelotti je izjavio nakon utakmice da nitko u klubu ne sumnja u njega, a direktor za odnose s institucijama Emilio Butragueno rekao je da je on "sjajan trener" i da ima ugovor na još godinu dana, do 30. lipnja 2024.

"Nemam nikakvu dvojbu treba li ostati jer je sve osvojio od kada je došao ovdje. Prošla sezona je bila nevjerojatna, ova je također bila sjajna do Svjetskog prvenstva (u prosincu), a zatim smo doživjeli poraz u prvenstvu što nismo htjeli, no to je nogomet", dodao je.

Kritičari zamjeraju Ancelottiju što nije uspio obraniti ni naslov prvaka Španjolske gdje je Barcelona pet kola prije kraja došla do titule.

"No do danas smo bili dobri u Ligi prvaka, a osvojili smo i Kup. Ancelotti je zaslužio nastaviti ovdje zbog svega što je ostvario, zbog svega što radi i zbog svog iskustva, zbog kvalitete. Igrali smo dobro dosad pa sada nije potrebno raditi dramu iz ovog. Potrebno je dovršiti sezonu na najbolji mogući način", poručio je Modrić.

Real Madridu su do kraja sezone preostala četiri kola španjolskog prvenstva u kojem se nalazi na drugom mjestu, s dva boda više od trećeplasiranog Atletico Madrida.

Kapetan hrvatske reprezentacije Luka Modrić rekao je nakon Realovog poraza od 0-4 u polufinalu Lige prvaka da je Manchester City zasluženo pobijedio, no da ovo nije kraj aktualne ekipe "Kraljevskog kluba".

"To je sport, ponekad pobijediš, a ponekad izgubiš. City je zaslužio prolazak u finale", izjavio je 37-godišnji Modrić u obraćanju medijima nakon utakmice.

Manchester City je nadigrao aktualnog prvaka Europe nakon što je prvi susret u Madridu bio završio 1-1.

"Nismo bili dobri. Htjeli smo, dakako, odigrati bolje no City je bio superioran. Trebamo im čestitati i to je to," rekao je Modrić koji je izašao iz igre u 63. minuti.

Španjolski mediji neugodno su iznenađeni visokim porazom i slabom izvedbom kompletne ekipe, gdje se od kritike izvukao jedino vratar Thibaut Courtois.

"Kada se izgubi ovdje to je velika stvar, itekako sam svjestan toga. Znam da nas mnogi sada kritiziraju, no tu smo. S time se trebamo znati nositi. Kritika nas neće dotući. Prihvaćamo konstruktivnu kritiku," rekao je Modrić, koji je s Realom od 2012. godine pet puta osvojio Ligu prvaka. Njemu, kao i još petorici igrača, ugovori istječu 30. lipnja.

Upitan je li došao kraj ciklusa ove momčadi, hrvatski veznjak je odgovorio.

"Sada nije vrijeme za dublje ulaženje u tu temu. Ova ekipa ima još puno toga za dati".

Dio medija je otvorio pitanje ostanka na klupi Carla Ancelottija, koji je ove sezone osvojio tri od mogućih šest trofeja. Sam Ancelotti je izjavio nakon utakmice da nitko u klubu ne sumnja u njega, a direktor za odnose s institucijama Emilio Butragueno rekao je da je on "sjajan trener" i da ima ugovor na još godinu dana, do 30. lipnja 2024.

"Ja smatram da trener treba ostati", napomenuo je Modrić.

"Nemam nikakvu dvojbu treba li ostati jer je sve osvojio od kada je došao ovdje. Prošla sezona je bila nevjerojatna, ova je također bila sjajna do Svjetskog prvenstva (u prosincu), a zatim smo doživjeli poraz u prvenstvu što nismo htjeli, no to je nogomet", dodao je.

Kritičari zamjeraju Ancelottiju što nije uspio obraniti ni naslov prvaka Španjolske gdje je Barcelona pet kola prije kraja došla do titule.

"No do danas smo bili dobri u Ligi prvaka, a osvojili smo i Kup. Ancelotti je zaslužio nastaviti ovdje zbog svega što je ostvario, zbog svega što radi i zbog svog iskustva, zbog kvalitete. Igrali smo dobro dosad pa sada nije potrebno raditi dramu iz ovog. Potrebno je dovršiti sezonu na najbolji mogući način", poručio je Modrić.

Real Madridu su do kraja sezone preostala četiri kola španjolskog prvenstva u kojem se nalazi na drugom mjestu, s dva boda više od trećeplasiranog Atletico Madrida.
