Otkako je trilogijom o Batmanu postavio nove žanrovske standarde, redatelj Christopher Nolan pod stalnom je prismotrom filmskih znalaca i publike. Svaki njegov novi film prati poseban ‘hype‘, mjesecima prije premijere razglaba se o mogućim dosezima i nagradama struke.
Po tom obrascu dočekali smo i ‘Oppenheimera‘, Nolanovu ekranizaciju životopisa oca atomske bombe Roberta Oppenheimera. Nastao prema književnom predložku ‘Američki Prometej‘ autora Kaija Birda i Martina J. Sherwina, ovaj film secira karijeru briljantnog znanstvenika, američkog Židova, izrazito lijevo orijentiranog i zbog toga suspektnog u SAD-u tijekom Drugog svjetskog rata i u godinama poslije globalnog sukoba okončanog upravo uporabom njegova razarajućeg izuma.

Znanstvenofantastičnim ‘Interstellarom‘ tako prevladava maglovita ideja orbitalne familijarnosti, u ratnom ‘Dunkirku‘ naglasak je na evakuaciji vojnika, individua u službi masovne operacije, dok značenje ‘Teneta‘ ostaje nedokučivo pred razmetljivim prostorno-vremenskim distorzijama.
‘Oppenheimer‘ je prvi pravi Nolanov izlet u filmsku biografiju. Temeljita priprema vidljiva je u svakom kadru. Povijesno utemeljen i dokumentaristički ozbiljan, film priča o prvom oružju za masovno uništenje, smišljeno se poigravajući bojama, krupnim planovima i filterima.
Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) izgradio je rolu oskarovskog tipa. Posve se poistovjetio sa svojim junakom, Irac fizičara Oppenheimera glumi precizno i suptilno, unatoč ograničenjima u pristupu temi koja prečesto bježi od osobnog i znanstvenog prema ‘procesnom‘. Prekomjerno gomilanje aktera (upućeni su ih nabrojili 150) svakako odmaže preglednosti radnje.
U plejadi likova ima i dosta lica s hollywoodske A liste. Neki su se u zadatosti snašli bolje (Robert Downey Jr. izvrstan je kao dijabolični čelnik američke Komisije za atomsku energiju Lewis Strauss), a neki lošije (Matt Damon ostaje površan u ulozi Leslieja Grovesa, vojnog pokretača projekta Manhattan) dok neki nisu ni stigli doći do izražaja (Kenneth Branagh kao danski nobelovac, kralj kvantne fizike Niels Bohr).

Mnoge će zasmetati i podzastupljenost ženskih likova. Blondina Florence Pugh, ovdje pretvorena u brinetu, odlično koristi skromnu minutažu kako bi iznijela djeliće složene ličnosti Oppenheimerove ljubavnice komunistkinje Jean Tatlock. U dominantno muškoj glumačkoj postavi ističe se i Emily Blunt kao znanstvenikova supruga Kitty, šteta je da njezina osobnost i političke kontroverze nisu bolje objašnjene.
Trosatno trajanje filma na tragu je Nolanove sklonosti grandioznoj prezentaciji: ista se storija komotno mogla ispričati u uobičajenom formatu od dva sata, uz reducirani broj aktera i manju zastupljenost iskaza na saslušanju koji se izmjenjuju u ponekad konfuznom slijedu. Zbog toga se sporednom čini ključna podtema, nastanak atomske bombe i njezine reperkusije na čovječanstvo. Pokusnoj detonaciji u Los Alamosu u filmu nedostaje plastičnosti.
Žrtve Hirošime i Nagasakija spomenute su tek kao statistika, potpuno u sjeni završne ćakule Oppenheimera i Alberta Einsteina o pogubi nuklearnog naoružavanja za budućnost svijeta. No, takvo što moglo se i očekivati kad je veliki fantast Nolan u redateljskom stolcu. ‘Oppenheimer‘ je neosporno dobar film, no ne i savršen kakvim ga se u većini prikazuje.

Otkako je trilogijom o Batmanu postavio nove žanrovske standarde, redatelj Christopher Nolan pod stalnom je prismotrom filmskih znalaca i publike. Svaki njegov novi film prati poseban ‘hype‘, mjesecima prije premijere razglaba se o mogućim dosezima i nagradama struke.
Po tom obrascu dočekali smo i ‘Oppenheimera‘, Nolanovu ekranizaciju životopisa oca atomske bombe Roberta Oppenheimera. Nastao prema književnom predložku ‘Američki Prometej‘ autora Kaija Birda i Martina J. Sherwina, ovaj film secira karijeru briljantnog znanstvenika, američkog Židova, izrazito lijevo orijentiranog i zbog toga suspektnog u SAD-u tijekom Drugog svjetskog rata i u godinama poslije globalnog sukoba okončanog upravo uporabom njegova razarajućeg izuma.

Nolanov ‘Oppenheimer‘ sadrži sve na što nas je redatelj navikao u prethodnim ostvarenjima. Koncept je važniji od osobnih drama protagonista, vizuali od karakterizacije, umjetnički dojam od fabule...
Znanstvenofantastičnim ‘Interstellarom‘ tako prevladava maglovita ideja orbitalne familijarnosti, u ratnom ‘Dunkirku‘ naglasak je na evakuaciji vojnika, individua u službi masovne operacije, dok značenje ‘Teneta‘ ostaje nedokučivo pred razmetljivim prostorno-vremenskim distorzijama.
‘Oppenheimer‘ je prvi pravi Nolanov izlet u filmsku biografiju. Temeljita priprema vidljiva je u svakom kadru. Povijesno utemeljen i dokumentaristički ozbiljan, film priča o prvom oružju za masovno uništenje, smišljeno se poigravajući bojama, krupnim planovima i filterima.
Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) izgradio je rolu oskarovskog tipa. Posve se poistovjetio sa svojim junakom, Irac fizičara Oppenheimera glumi precizno i suptilno, unatoč ograničenjima u pristupu temi koja prečesto bježi od osobnog i znanstvenog prema ‘procesnom‘. Prekomjerno gomilanje aktera (upućeni su ih nabrojili 150) svakako odmaže preglednosti radnje.
U plejadi likova ima i dosta lica s hollywoodske A liste. Neki su se u zadatosti snašli bolje (Robert Downey Jr. izvrstan je kao dijabolični čelnik američke Komisije za atomsku energiju Lewis Strauss), a neki lošije (Matt Damon ostaje površan u ulozi Leslieja Grovesa, vojnog pokretača projekta Manhattan) dok neki nisu ni stigli doći do izražaja (Kenneth Branagh kao danski nobelovac, kralj kvantne fizike Niels Bohr).

Mnoge će zasmetati i podzastupljenost ženskih likova. Blondina Florence Pugh, ovdje pretvorena u brinetu, odlično koristi skromnu minutažu kako bi iznijela djeliće složene ličnosti Oppenheimerove ljubavnice komunistkinje Jean Tatlock. U dominantno muškoj glumačkoj postavi ističe se i Emily Blunt kao znanstvenikova supruga Kitty, šteta je da njezina osobnost i političke kontroverze nisu bolje objašnjene.
Trosatno trajanje filma na tragu je Nolanove sklonosti grandioznoj prezentaciji: ista se storija komotno mogla ispričati u uobičajenom formatu od dva sata, uz reducirani broj aktera i manju zastupljenost iskaza na saslušanju koji se izmjenjuju u ponekad konfuznom slijedu. Zbog toga se sporednom čini ključna podtema, nastanak atomske bombe i njezine reperkusije na čovječanstvo. Pokusnoj detonaciji u Los Alamosu u filmu nedostaje plastičnosti.
Žrtve Hirošime i Nagasakija spomenute su tek kao statistika, potpuno u sjeni završne ćakule Oppenheimera i Alberta Einsteina o pogubi nuklearnog naoružavanja za budućnost svijeta. No, takvo što moglo se i očekivati kad je veliki fantast Nolan u redateljskom stolcu. ‘Oppenheimer‘ je neosporno dobar film, no ne i savršen kakvim ga se u većini prikazuje.
