Jedan je osamdesetogodišnjak, drugi se bliži pedesetoj, a za njima je sedam zajedničkih filmskih projekata koji slute na nove suradnje. Renomirani redatelj Martin Scorsese i glumačka zvijezda Leonardo Di Caprio, obojica oskarovci, ove jeseni udružili su snage u povijesnoj kriminalističkoj drami ‘Ubojice cvjetnog mjeseca‘ (Killers of the Flower Moon) koja bi prema prognozama mogla uroditi sjetvom zlatnih kipića. Ne bi to bilo nimalo čudno, jer ovaj revizionistički western ima sve ono što se sviđa glasačima Akademije.

No, kakav god bio rezultat, valja reći da je Scorseseova, ponešto preduga, tripol satna epopeja odvažan odmak od prikaza odnosa američkih starosjedilaca i došljaka na kakav su nas navikli ‘kaubojci‘ iz ere Johna Waynea. Točnije, ‘Ubojice‘ su nepristrana priča o tlačiteljskom odnosu bijelih dotepenaca prema Indijancima koji neočekivanim spletom okolnosti zauzimaju njihovo mjesto na ljestvici moći. Takav disbalans, naravno, ne može proći nekažnjeno, što pokreće seriju zločina koji mnogo govore i o prirodi divljeg kapitalizma 1920-tih, usađenog u temelje današnje supersile zadojene naftom.

Leonardo Di Caprio u ‘Ubojicama‘ dolazi u svom dosad najboljem izdanju, nadograđuje na neki način ulogu gorštaka koja mu je u Inarrituovom zlokobnom ‘Revenantu‘ 2016. donijela Oscara. Punu glumačku zrelost pokazao je Di Caprio odabravši za sebe rolu negativca, probisvijeta Ernesta Buckharta koji je zbog novčanog probitka spreman na kojekakve opačine, pa čak i lagano usmrćivanje supruge, pripadnice plemena Osage.

Scorsese upravo oko glavnog lika gradi dramsku napetost, tjerajući gledatelja da se pita hoće li očigledna naklonost prema bračnoj družici kod Buckharta potaknuti preobražaj koji bi sve obradovao. Drugi stup radnje, Ernestov maliciozni ujak William King Hale, prijetvorni je dobrotvor koji diktira ritam zločina u maloj sredini gdje se domoroci miješaju s pridošlicama. Ovu je rolu Scorcese dodijelio svom vršnjaku i starom suradniku Robertu De Niru (Taksist, Razjareni bik, Irac) koji je s lakoćom proniknuo u motive svog beskrupuloznog junaka.

‘Killers of the Flower Moon‘

Pravo osvježenje ove turobne američke ‘povjestice‘ je Lily Gladstone kao Mollie Burkhart, supruga gore spomenutog oportunista Ernesta. Gladstone, inače indijanskog podrijetla, suptilno portretira svoju tragičnu junakinju u neprijateljski nastrojenom okružju, inteligentnu ženu čije je bogatstvo ujedno i prokletstvo. Scorseseov najnoviji film rasni je primjer rasne tolerancije, u njemu iščitavamo pravi Zeitgeist 2020-tih, ali nađe se tamo i ponešto za prigovoriti.

Zasmetat će mnogima način prikaza serijskih ubojstava Osage Indijanaca. Previše je tu ‘pulp‘ primjesa u miniranju kuća dinamitom, likvidacija hicima u glavu izbliza ili piljenja udova ubijenih, što djeluje pomalo neukusno. Inauguracijski dolazak agenata preteče FBI-a pozicioniran je prekasno, u posljednju trećinu filma, pa se savezni istražitelji ne stignu dovoljno profilirati u istrazi umorstava. Šteta, jer je Jesse Plemons uvjerljiv kao šef agenata Tom White.

U odjavi filma se sam Scorsese nadaje kao tumač sudbina nosivih likova, što je glasovno mogao odraditi i netko drugi jer film ionako završava dojmljivim obrednim plesom današnjih pripadnika naroda Osage čiji je usud kroz simboliku cvjetnog Mjeseca u romanu iz 2017. otkrio David Grann i ponudio time savršen materijal za ekranizaciju zbiljski mračne epizode američke povijesti.

Robert De Niro u ulozi zločestog ujaka lika kojeg tumači Leonardo Di Caprio

Jedan je osamdesetogodišnjak, drugi se bliži pedesetoj, a za njima je sedam zajedničkih filmskih projekata koji slute na nove suradnje. Renomirani redatelj Martin Scorsese i glumačka zvijezda Leonardo Di Caprio, obojica oskarovci, ove jeseni udružili su snage u povijesnoj kriminalističkoj drami ‘Ubojice cvjetnog mjeseca‘ (Killers of the Flower Moon) koja bi prema prognozama mogla uroditi sjetvom zlatnih kipića. Ne bi to bilo nimalo čudno, jer ovaj revizionistički western ima sve ono što se sviđa glasačima Akademije.

No, kakav god bio rezultat, valja reći da je Scorseseova, ponešto preduga, tripol satna epopeja odvažan odmak od prikaza odnosa američkih starosjedilaca i došljaka na kakav su nas navikli ‘kaubojci‘ iz ere Johna Waynea. Točnije, ‘Ubojice‘ su nepristrana priča o tlačiteljskom odnosu bijelih dotepenaca prema Indijancima koji neočekivanim spletom okolnosti zauzimaju njihovo mjesto na ljestvici moći. Takav disbalans, naravno, ne može proći nekažnjeno, što pokreće seriju zločina koji mnogo govore i o prirodi divljeg kapitalizma 1920-tih, usađenog u temelje današnje supersile zadojene naftom.

Leonardo Di Caprio u ‘Ubojicama‘ dolazi u svom dosad najboljem izdanju, nadograđuje na neki način ulogu gorštaka koja mu je u Inarrituovom zlokobnom ‘Revenantu‘ 2016. donijela Oscara. Punu glumačku zrelost pokazao je Di Caprio odabravši za sebe rolu negativca, probisvijeta Ernesta Buckharta koji je zbog novčanog probitka spreman na kojekakve opačine, pa čak i lagano usmrćivanje supruge, pripadnice plemena Osage.

Scorsese upravo oko glavnog lika gradi dramsku napetost, tjerajući gledatelja da se pita hoće li očigledna naklonost prema bračnoj družici kod Buckharta potaknuti preobražaj koji bi sve obradovao. Drugi stup radnje, Ernestov maliciozni ujak William King Hale, prijetvorni je dobrotvor koji diktira ritam zločina u maloj sredini gdje se domoroci miješaju s pridošlicama. Ovu je rolu Scorcese dodijelio svom vršnjaku i starom suradniku Robertu De Niru (Taksist, Razjareni bik, Irac) koji je s lakoćom proniknuo u motive svog beskrupuloznog junaka.

‘Killers of the Flower Moon‘

Pravo osvježenje ove turobne američke ‘povjestice‘ je Lily Gladstone kao Mollie Burkhart, supruga gore spomenutog oportunista Ernesta. Gladstone, inače indijanskog podrijetla, suptilno portretira svoju tragičnu junakinju u neprijateljski nastrojenom okružju, inteligentnu ženu čije je bogatstvo ujedno i prokletstvo. Scorseseov najnoviji film rasni je primjer rasne tolerancije, u njemu iščitavamo pravi Zeitgeist 2020-tih, ali nađe se tamo i ponešto za prigovoriti.

Zasmetat će mnogima način prikaza serijskih ubojstava Osage Indijanaca. Previše je tu ‘pulp‘ primjesa u miniranju kuća dinamitom, likvidacija hicima u glavu izbliza ili piljenja udova ubijenih, što djeluje pomalo neukusno. Inauguracijski dolazak agenata preteče FBI-a pozicioniran je prekasno, u posljednju trećinu filma, pa se savezni istražitelji ne stignu dovoljno profilirati u istrazi umorstava. Šteta, jer je Jesse Plemons uvjerljiv kao šef agenata Tom White.

U odjavi filma se sam Scorsese nadaje kao tumač sudbina nosivih likova, što je glasovno mogao odraditi i netko drugi jer film ionako završava dojmljivim obrednim plesom današnjih pripadnika naroda Osage čiji je usud kroz simboliku cvjetnog Mjeseca u romanu iz 2017. otkrio David Grann i ponudio time savršen materijal za ekranizaciju zbiljski mračne epizode američke povijesti.
