Veliki koraljni greben nadomak sjeveroistočnih obala Australije trebao bi konačno biti stavljen na UNESCO-vu listu ugrožene svjetske baštine, javlja UN.

Iz ove organizacije upozoravaju da je bez "ambiciozne, brze i održive" klimatske akcije najveći koraljni greben na planeti u velikoj opasnosti.

Njihov izvještaj je sastavljen na osnovu desetodnevnog posjeta Velikom koraljnom grebenu, inače staništu podvodnog života izuzetne raznovrsnosti i ljepote, koji se nalazi se na UNESCO-voj listi svjetske baštine od 1981. godine.

Izvještajem se vlastima Australije i vlastima savezne države Queensland preporučuje da odrede ambicioznije ciljeve u smanjenjivanju emisija stakleničkih plinova, da se zaustavi zagađivanje voda oko grebena, a koje dovodi do povećanje njihove kiselosti, što može biti pogubno za živi svijet. Pozvana je vlada Queenslanda da zabrani ribolov mrežama stajaćicama unutar grebenskog morskog parka, navodeći utjecaj usputnog ulova na vrste poput dupina, morskih pasa i kornjača.

Veliki koraljni greben nadomak sjeveroistočnih obala Australije trebao bi konačno biti stavljen na UNESCO-vu listu ugrožene svjetske baštine, javlja UN.

Iz ove organizacije upozoravaju da je bez "ambiciozne, brze i održive" klimatske akcije najveći koraljni greben na planeti u velikoj opasnosti.

Njihov izvještaj je sastavljen na osnovu desetodnevnog posjeta Velikom koraljnom grebenu, inače staništu podvodnog života izuzetne raznovrsnosti i ljepote, koji se nalazi se na UNESCO-voj listi svjetske baštine od 1981. godine.

Izvještajem se vlastima Australije i vlastima savezne države Queensland preporučuje da odrede ambicioznije ciljeve u smanjenjivanju emisija stakleničkih plinova, da se zaustavi zagađivanje voda oko grebena, a koje dovodi do povećanje njihove kiselosti, što može biti pogubno za živi svijet. Pozvana je vlada Queenslanda da zabrani ribolov mrežama stajaćicama unutar grebenskog morskog parka, navodeći utjecaj usputnog ulova na vrste poput dupina, morskih pasa i kornjača.

Veliki koraljni greben nadomak sjeveroistočnih obala Australije trebao bi konačno biti stavljen na UNESCO-vu listu ugrožene svjetske baštine, javlja UN.

Iz ove organizacije upozoravaju da je bez "ambiciozne, brze i održive" klimatske akcije najveći koraljni greben na planeti u velikoj opasnosti.

Njihov izvještaj je sastavljen na osnovu desetodnevnog posjeta Velikom koraljnom grebenu, inače staništu podvodnog života izuzetne raznovrsnosti i ljepote, koji se nalazi se na UNESCO-voj listi svjetske baštine od 1981. godine.

Izvještajem se vlastima Australije i vlastima savezne države Queensland preporučuje da odrede ambicioznije ciljeve u smanjenjivanju emisija stakleničkih plinova, da se zaustavi zagađivanje voda oko grebena, a koje dovodi do povećanje njihove kiselosti, što može biti pogubno za živi svijet. Pozvana je vlada Queenslanda da zabrani ribolov mrežama stajaćicama unutar grebenskog morskog parka, navodeći utjecaj usputnog ulova na vrste poput dupina, morskih pasa i kornjača.
