Nekoliko dana pred 954. obljetnicu prvog spomena Šibenika u povelji hrvatskog kralja Petra Krešimira IV., Muzej grada Šibenika i Tvrđava kulture Šibenik došli su do novih nalaza koji pripadaju periodu ranog srednjeg vijeka.
Naime, Muzej grada Šibenika u suradnji s JU Priroda Šibensko-kninske županije, od 2013. godine vodi istraživanja u špilji sv. Ante pustinjaka koja se nalazi u istoimenom kanalu. Voditelj istraživanja, viši kustos šibenskog muzeja Emil Podrug, za pisanje znanstvenog rada o ovom lokalitetu okupio je široki tim – osam stručnjaka iz pet ustanova i tri grada (Šibenik, Split, Zagreb). Dosadašnji rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da je špilja korištena od 13. ili 14. sve do 20. stoljeća - objasnio je povjesničar Josip Pavić koji je radio na ovom zanimljivom projektu.
- Prilikom recentnog pregleda ostataka baroknog oltara u špilji je zatečen vrlo dobro očuvan ulomak pluteja oltarne pregrade ukrašen pleterom. Radi se o nizu od dvije učvorene troprute kružnice ukrašene virovitim rozetama, kojeg temeljem sličnih primjera iz Rižinica kod Klisa i Kašića kod Zadra možemo vrlo pouzdano proglasiti radom tzv. Klesarske radionice iz vremena kneza Trpimira i smjestiti najkasnije u sredinu 9. stoljeća.
Kameni ulomak s pleterom u špilju je najvjerojatnije donesen kao sekundarni građevinski materijal. Treba napomenuti da neposredno šibensko okruženje ne obiluje arheološkim nalazištima iz epohe narodnih vladara. Osim vrlo značajnog lokaliteta sv. Lovre u Grušinama kod Donjeg polja, ulomci pletera pronađeni su na svega nekoliko lokacija i to uglavnom također kao sekundarni materijal – rekao je Željko Krnčević, ravnatelj šibenskog muzeja.
Jedna od tih rijetkih lokacija je i Tvrđava sv. Mihovila. Malo je poznato da je još davne 1911. na tvrđavi pronađen kameni ulomak s troprutim pletenicama, a devedesetih godina i uljna svjetiljka iz druge polovice 9. stoljeća. Lokacija je bila korištena za obranu još od ilirskog doba, a smatra se da je većina danas sačuvanih bedema izgrađena u doba mletačke vlasti.
Međutim, neki zidovi se čine stariji, a današnje neinvazivne arheološke metode pružaju nove prilike za istraživanje. Jedan od takvih zidova je i najdublji dio sjeveroistočnog bedema, čija žbuka je sadržavala komadiće ugljena. Kemijsku C14 dataciju ugljena izveli su stručnjaci iz Laboratorija za mjerenje niskih radioaktivnosti pri Zavodu za eksperimentalnu fiziku Instituta Ruđer Bošković.
Nalaz ugljena iz žbuke iz najstarijeg zida tvrđave pokazuje još jedan dio slagalice o Šibeniku prije Petra Krešimira.
- Jako smo uzbuđeni oko svega ovoga što se posljednih mjeseci radilo na ova dva lokaliteta: u špilji i tvrđavi. Ovo je jedan poticaj da se intenzivno nastavi s istraživanjima i vjerujem da ćemo u budućnosti imati jasniju sliku o najranijoj povijesti grada te da ćemo uspjeti rasvijetliti taj period materijalnim dokazima.
To je mukotrpan i dogoročan posao, ali nadam se da ćemo uspjeti donijeti nove fakte o najstarijem izvornom hrvatskom gradu na obali. EU nam je dao resurse da nastavimo s ovim kompliciranim istraživanjima i idemo tim putem - zaključila je Gorana Barišić Bačelić, ravnateljica Tvrđave kulture

Nekoliko dana pred 954. obljetnicu prvog spomena Šibenika u povelji hrvatskog kralja Petra Krešimira IV., Muzej grada Šibenika i Tvrđava kulture Šibenik došli su do novih nalaza koji pripadaju periodu ranog srednjeg vijeka.
Naime, Muzej grada Šibenika u suradnji s JU Priroda Šibensko-kninske županije, od 2013. godine vodi istraživanja u špilji sv. Ante pustinjaka koja se nalazi u istoimenom kanalu. Voditelj istraživanja, viši kustos šibenskog muzeja Emil Podrug, za pisanje znanstvenog rada o ovom lokalitetu okupio je široki tim – osam stručnjaka iz pet ustanova i tri grada (Šibenik, Split, Zagreb). Dosadašnji rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da je špilja korištena od 13. ili 14. sve do 20. stoljeća - objasnio je povjesničar Josip Pavić koji je radio na ovom zanimljivom projektu.
- Prilikom recentnog pregleda ostataka baroknog oltara u špilji je zatečen vrlo dobro očuvan ulomak pluteja oltarne pregrade ukrašen pleterom. Radi se o nizu od dvije učvorene troprute kružnice ukrašene virovitim rozetama, kojeg temeljem sličnih primjera iz Rižinica kod Klisa i Kašića kod Zadra možemo vrlo pouzdano proglasiti radom tzv. Klesarske radionice iz vremena kneza Trpimira i smjestiti najkasnije u sredinu 9. stoljeća.
Kameni ulomak s pleterom u špilju je najvjerojatnije donesen kao sekundarni građevinski materijal. Treba napomenuti da neposredno šibensko okruženje ne obiluje arheološkim nalazištima iz epohe narodnih vladara. Osim vrlo značajnog lokaliteta sv. Lovre u Grušinama kod Donjeg polja, ulomci pletera pronađeni su na svega nekoliko lokacija i to uglavnom također kao sekundarni materijal – rekao je Željko Krnčević, ravnatelj šibenskog muzeja.
Jedna od tih rijetkih lokacija je i Tvrđava sv. Mihovila. Malo je poznato da je još davne 1911. na tvrđavi pronađen kameni ulomak s troprutim pletenicama, a devedesetih godina i uljna svjetiljka iz druge polovice 9. stoljeća. Lokacija je bila korištena za obranu još od ilirskog doba, a smatra se da je većina danas sačuvanih bedema izgrađena u doba mletačke vlasti.
Međutim, neki zidovi se čine stariji, a današnje neinvazivne arheološke metode pružaju nove prilike za istraživanje. Jedan od takvih zidova je i najdublji dio sjeveroistočnog bedema, čija žbuka je sadržavala komadiće ugljena. Kemijsku C14 dataciju ugljena izveli su stručnjaci iz Laboratorija za mjerenje niskih radioaktivnosti pri Zavodu za eksperimentalnu fiziku Instituta Ruđer Bošković.
Nalaz ugljena iz žbuke iz najstarijeg zida tvrđave pokazuje još jedan dio slagalice o Šibeniku prije Petra Krešimira.
- Jako smo uzbuđeni oko svega ovoga što se posljednih mjeseci radilo na ova dva lokaliteta: u špilji i tvrđavi. Ovo je jedan poticaj da se intenzivno nastavi s istraživanjima i vjerujem da ćemo u budućnosti imati jasniju sliku o najranijoj povijesti grada te da ćemo uspjeti rasvijetliti taj period materijalnim dokazima.
To je mukotrpan i dogoročan posao, ali nadam se da ćemo uspjeti donijeti nove fakte o najstarijem izvornom hrvatskom gradu na obali. EU nam je dao resurse da nastavimo s ovim kompliciranim istraživanjima i idemo tim putem - zaključila je Gorana Barišić Bačelić, ravnateljica Tvrđave kulture
