Umro je Ivica Osim, legendarni nogometni trener, samo pet dana prije 81. rođendana.
Bio je krhkog zdravlja posljednjih godina, moždani udar doživio je još 2007. i prebrodio ga umnogome zahvaljujući tome što mu se dogodio u Japanu, pa je uživao baš vrhunski tretman liječnika. No, bez obzira na tegobno zdravstveno stanje umro je ipak iznenada, kako to uradi srčani udar, odnese te u hipu.
Živio je u Grazu koliko i u Sarajevu u posljednje vrijeme, kombinirao je svoje dvije omiljene destinacije, izlazio je u šetnju redovito... I bez obzira na sve, otišao je – iznenada.
Svi će sad ispričati one opće poznate detalje o umjetniku i filozofu nogometa, ne bi ga zvali bez veze Štraus s Grbavice, njegov je nogomet bio kao valcer, s Radio Sarajeva je krenula davno u eter pošalica u stilu „Osim je uzeo loptu, dribla jednog, dribla drugog i dok mu ne uzmu loptu poslušajte muziku iz našeg studija”.
Drugi život Osima bio je trenerski, posebno uspješan, nadahnut, nije Osim bio ni Ivić, ni Miljanić, ni Boškov, kao veličine sa širokog jugo-prostora, bio je nadasve - Osim. Osim njih i – on. Svakako i neizostavno. Za sve poseban, za mnoge možda još i bolji jer bi mu dodali i dušu umjetničkog naspram spomenutih predstavnika čeličnog, super ozbiljnog baluna. Nije bio ni kao Ćiro. Drugačiji. Nešto a la Špaco. Posebnih dimenzija...
Prijateljstvo s Nadovezom
Nama, na spomen Osima odmah dođu u misli poveznice s Hajdukom, imao ih je mnogo, njegovo prijateljstvo s Perom Nadovezom, kao predvodnikom generacije nogometaša Hajduka šezdesetih. Pa kasnije kao selektor, tada još nismo rabili riječ izbornik. Imao je miljenike među igračima „bijelih”, premda je – ne bez osnove – preferirao i mnoge, većinu iz svoga Željezničara. Znao je bolje od svih koliko vrijede njegova djeca s Grbavice, a za kojima su se pojagmili velikani yu-nogometa...
Kad je čuo ružnu vijest Osimova neumitnog odlaska, Boro Primorac, pomalo oporog smisla za surovu stvarnost, baš poput Osima s „be ha” prostora, reagirao je:
- Umro je Osim. Silno mi je žao. I u Japanu smo se sretali. Tamo su ga spasili – uzdahnuo je, pa dodao:
- A što ćeš, to je tako, život i smrt. Neko je već vrijeme igrao produžetke...
Tako bi i Osim reagirao o sebi samome, upoznali smo ga, s doskočicama.
U šezdesetima je u ime prijateljstva s igračima Hajduka pristao da im – pusti utakmicu. Hajduku je trebala pobjeda za opstanak i bi tako, Hajduk je na Starom placu svladao Željezničar sa 4:0. Nisu bili važni golovi, samo pobjeda, ali su Željini igrači statirali, a Hajdukovi zabijali. Osim prije svih, kao najbolji, Štraus je tu utakmicu sabotirao...
A kako to znamo? Pa zato jer je godinu-dvije kasnije pukla „afera Planinić”, vratar Željezničara Ranko Planinić ispričao je novinaru u Sarajevu Aliji Resuloviću da je izgubio od Hajduka jer je ostavljen na cjedilu, bez obrane... A Planinić je bio ljut nešto na svoje iz Želje pa se, ne lezi vraže raspričao, što i kako, ajme i kuku!
Efekt je bila kazna, Hajduku minus bodovi (grozilo mu se i ispadanjem u drugu ligu), a Osim i Smajlović su kažnjeni godinom zabrane igranja.
Nadoveza i Osim su nam često to prepričavali, a priča ide toliko daleko da je tadašnji trener Hajduka Milovan Ćirić, jak sa svojim beogradskim vezama, zauzvrat bodova obećao nastup Osimu i Smajloviću iz Želje nastup na Olimpijskim igrama u Tokiju 1964....
‘Plave’ nije mogao zamisliti bez Vulića i Zlatka Vujovića
Zbog Hajduka, godinu dana neigranja. I primio je to stoički. Nije jadikovao, smijao bi se na spomen davnih dana.
Kao selektor doveo je Jugoslaviju u Poljud, protivnik je bila Turska. Nije prihvaćao pritisak da uvrsti u tim Blaža Sliškovića. A bilo je naglašene želje iz uprave „bijelih”, ajde, stavi Doktora Baku... Ma kakvi. Stavio je mahom igrače Željezničara i splitska publika je reagirala duhovito, spontano:
- Željo, Željo, Željo – skandiralo se reprezentaciji, umjesto da je bodre „plavi, plavi”.
Zato je na Mundijalu u Italiji 1990. pokazao koliko voli i cijeni Zorana Vulića i Zlatka Vujovića. Bez njih nije mogao ni zamisliti svoju reprezentaciju Jugoslavije.
Vulić, igrač po Osimovu istančanom ukusu, govori nam:
- Bio je poštenjačina, znalac i nogometna enciklopedija. Nije na trening nosio papir. Ali, u jednom treningu promijenio bi pet vježbi... Umio je udahnuti igru, ono najteže što trener treba znati. Svaki njegov trening je uspio. Igrali smo sjajan nogomet. Bio je ispred svoga vremena.
Zlatko Vujović je kazao:
- Najviše mi je žao što mi baš on nije bio trener u Hajduku. Još bih više naučio – voli reći brzonogi golgeter.
A da bude trener u Hajduku poželio je Osima sportski direktor „bijelih” Ivica Šurjak 2001. godine.
Osim je uvijek dolazio u Vodice, tu ima kuću, vezan uz Dalmaciju na svoj način, uz prijatelje, omiljen... U Hajduk? Šurjak je pokušao:
- Pričali smo. Bio je sklon ideji... Htio sam da s njim napravimo iskorak. Bio je zainteresiran, pa se ipak nije u to upustio... Premišljao se. Pazio je da se ne uvrijedimo, bilo je to delikatno za njega – sa sjetom se sjeća Šurjak.

Umro je Ivica Osim, legendarni nogometni trener, samo pet dana prije 81. rođendana.
Bio je krhkog zdravlja posljednjih godina, moždani udar doživio je još 2007. i prebrodio ga umnogome zahvaljujući tome što mu se dogodio u Japanu, pa je uživao baš vrhunski tretman liječnika. No, bez obzira na tegobno zdravstveno stanje umro je ipak iznenada, kako to uradi srčani udar, odnese te u hipu.
Živio je u Grazu koliko i u Sarajevu u posljednje vrijeme, kombinirao je svoje dvije omiljene destinacije, izlazio je u šetnju redovito... I bez obzira na sve, otišao je – iznenada.
Svi će sad ispričati one opće poznate detalje o umjetniku i filozofu nogometa, ne bi ga zvali bez veze Štraus s Grbavice, njegov je nogomet bio kao valcer, s Radio Sarajeva je krenula davno u eter pošalica u stilu „Osim je uzeo loptu, dribla jednog, dribla drugog i dok mu ne uzmu loptu poslušajte muziku iz našeg studija”.
Drugi život Osima bio je trenerski, posebno uspješan, nadahnut, nije Osim bio ni Ivić, ni Miljanić, ni Boškov, kao veličine sa širokog jugo-prostora, bio je nadasve - Osim. Osim njih i – on. Svakako i neizostavno. Za sve poseban, za mnoge možda još i bolji jer bi mu dodali i dušu umjetničkog naspram spomenutih predstavnika čeličnog, super ozbiljnog baluna. Nije bio ni kao Ćiro. Drugačiji. Nešto a la Špaco. Posebnih dimenzija...
Prijateljstvo s Nadovezom
Nama, na spomen Osima odmah dođu u misli poveznice s Hajdukom, imao ih je mnogo, njegovo prijateljstvo s Perom Nadovezom, kao predvodnikom generacije nogometaša Hajduka šezdesetih. Pa kasnije kao selektor, tada još nismo rabili riječ izbornik. Imao je miljenike među igračima „bijelih”, premda je – ne bez osnove – preferirao i mnoge, većinu iz svoga Željezničara. Znao je bolje od svih koliko vrijede njegova djeca s Grbavice, a za kojima su se pojagmili velikani yu-nogometa...
Kad je čuo ružnu vijest Osimova neumitnog odlaska, Boro Primorac, pomalo oporog smisla za surovu stvarnost, baš poput Osima s „be ha” prostora, reagirao je:
- Umro je Osim. Silno mi je žao. I u Japanu smo se sretali. Tamo su ga spasili – uzdahnuo je, pa dodao:
- A što ćeš, to je tako, život i smrt. Neko je već vrijeme igrao produžetke...
Tako bi i Osim reagirao o sebi samome, upoznali smo ga, s doskočicama.
U šezdesetima je u ime prijateljstva s igračima Hajduka pristao da im – pusti utakmicu. Hajduku je trebala pobjeda za opstanak i bi tako, Hajduk je na Starom placu svladao Željezničar sa 4:0. Nisu bili važni golovi, samo pobjeda, ali su Željini igrači statirali, a Hajdukovi zabijali. Osim prije svih, kao najbolji, Štraus je tu utakmicu sabotirao...
A kako to znamo? Pa zato jer je godinu-dvije kasnije pukla „afera Planinić”, vratar Željezničara Ranko Planinić ispričao je novinaru u Sarajevu Aliji Resuloviću da je izgubio od Hajduka jer je ostavljen na cjedilu, bez obrane... A Planinić je bio ljut nešto na svoje iz Želje pa se, ne lezi vraže raspričao, što i kako, ajme i kuku!
Efekt je bila kazna, Hajduku minus bodovi (grozilo mu se i ispadanjem u drugu ligu), a Osim i Smajlović su kažnjeni godinom zabrane igranja.
Nadoveza i Osim su nam često to prepričavali, a priča ide toliko daleko da je tadašnji trener Hajduka Milovan Ćirić, jak sa svojim beogradskim vezama, zauzvrat bodova obećao nastup Osimu i Smajloviću iz Želje nastup na Olimpijskim igrama u Tokiju 1964....
‘Plave’ nije mogao zamisliti bez Vulića i Zlatka Vujovića
Zbog Hajduka, godinu dana neigranja. I primio je to stoički. Nije jadikovao, smijao bi se na spomen davnih dana.
Kao selektor doveo je Jugoslaviju u Poljud, protivnik je bila Turska. Nije prihvaćao pritisak da uvrsti u tim Blaža Sliškovića. A bilo je naglašene želje iz uprave „bijelih”, ajde, stavi Doktora Baku... Ma kakvi. Stavio je mahom igrače Željezničara i splitska publika je reagirala duhovito, spontano:
- Željo, Željo, Željo – skandiralo se reprezentaciji, umjesto da je bodre „plavi, plavi”.
Zato je na Mundijalu u Italiji 1990. pokazao koliko voli i cijeni Zorana Vulića i Zlatka Vujovića. Bez njih nije mogao ni zamisliti svoju reprezentaciju Jugoslavije.
Vulić, igrač po Osimovu istančanom ukusu, govori nam:
- Bio je poštenjačina, znalac i nogometna enciklopedija. Nije na trening nosio papir. Ali, u jednom treningu promijenio bi pet vježbi... Umio je udahnuti igru, ono najteže što trener treba znati. Svaki njegov trening je uspio. Igrali smo sjajan nogomet. Bio je ispred svoga vremena.
Zlatko Vujović je kazao:
- Najviše mi je žao što mi baš on nije bio trener u Hajduku. Još bih više naučio – voli reći brzonogi golgeter.
A da bude trener u Hajduku poželio je Osima sportski direktor „bijelih” Ivica Šurjak 2001. godine.
Osim je uvijek dolazio u Vodice, tu ima kuću, vezan uz Dalmaciju na svoj način, uz prijatelje, omiljen... U Hajduk? Šurjak je pokušao:
- Pričali smo. Bio je sklon ideji... Htio sam da s njim napravimo iskorak. Bio je zainteresiran, pa se ipak nije u to upustio... Premišljao se. Pazio je da se ne uvrijedimo, bilo je to delikatno za njega – sa sjetom se sjeća Šurjak.
