Iako su mnoga dosadašnja istraživanja dokazala da umjereni unos kave pridonosi našem zdravlju i neće napraviti veću štetu, nova je studija otkrila da ispijanje triju ili više šalica kave dnevno može ozbiljno oštetiti bubrege, piše Index.

Istraživanje, čiji su rezultati objavljeni u magazinu JAMA Network Open, uključivalo je 1180 odraslih osoba u dobi između 18 i 45 godina koje su imale neliječenu hipertenziju prvog stupnja (visoki krvni tlak).

Iako je studija trajala otprilike 16 godina, svaki od sudionika je provjeren tijekom praćenja u rasponu od sedam i pol godina. U to su vrijeme oni koji stoje iza studije pazili na hiperfiltraciju (stopa glomerularne filtracije koja se smatra višom od normalne), albuminuriju (previše albumina u urinu) i hipertenziju, a sve su to uobičajeni znakovi disfunkcije bubrega i bolesti bubrega.

Dok su proučavali dobivene rezultate, znanstvenici su prvo primijetili da je varijanta rs762551 gena CYP1A2 prisutna kod oko 50 posto sudionika, što znači da njihovo tijelo ne metabolizira kofein tako brzo kao što bi inače radilo. Također su otkrili da oni koji sporije metaboliziraju kofein imaju 2.7 puta veću vjerojatnost da će dobiti disfunkciju bubrega ako piju tri šalice kave ili više svaki dan. Točnije, imali su 2.5 puta veću vjerojatnost da će imati hiperfiltraciju, 2.7 puta veću vjerojatnost da će razviti albuminuriju i 2.8 puta veću vjerojatnost da će se suočiti s hipertenzijom.

"Ova nam studija pokazuje da kava, ako se pretjera s njezinim konzumiranjem, može ozbiljno oštetiti bubrege", upozorava liječnica Sara Mahdavi, glavna autorica spomenutog istraživanja.

Iako su mnoga dosadašnja istraživanja dokazala da umjereni unos kave pridonosi našem zdravlju i neće napraviti veću štetu, nova je studija otkrila da ispijanje triju ili više šalica kave dnevno može ozbiljno oštetiti bubrege, piše Index.

Istraživanje, čiji su rezultati objavljeni u magazinu JAMA Network Open, uključivalo je 1180 odraslih osoba u dobi između 18 i 45 godina koje su imale neliječenu hipertenziju prvog stupnja (visoki krvni tlak).

Iako je studija trajala otprilike 16 godina, svaki od sudionika je provjeren tijekom praćenja u rasponu od sedam i pol godina. U to su vrijeme oni koji stoje iza studije pazili na hiperfiltraciju (stopa glomerularne filtracije koja se smatra višom od normalne), albuminuriju (previše albumina u urinu) i hipertenziju, a sve su to uobičajeni znakovi disfunkcije bubrega i bolesti bubrega.

Dok su proučavali dobivene rezultate, znanstvenici su prvo primijetili da je varijanta rs762551 gena CYP1A2 prisutna kod oko 50 posto sudionika, što znači da njihovo tijelo ne metabolizira kofein tako brzo kao što bi inače radilo. Također su otkrili da oni koji sporije metaboliziraju kofein imaju 2.7 puta veću vjerojatnost da će dobiti disfunkciju bubrega ako piju tri šalice kave ili više svaki dan. Točnije, imali su 2.5 puta veću vjerojatnost da će imati hiperfiltraciju, 2.7 puta veću vjerojatnost da će razviti albuminuriju i 2.8 puta veću vjerojatnost da će se suočiti s hipertenzijom.

"Ova nam studija pokazuje da kava, ako se pretjera s njezinim konzumiranjem, može ozbiljno oštetiti bubrege", upozorava liječnica Sara Mahdavi, glavna autorica spomenutog istraživanja.

Iako su mnoga dosadašnja istraživanja dokazala da umjereni unos kave pridonosi našem zdravlju i neće napraviti veću štetu, nova je studija otkrila da ispijanje triju ili više šalica kave dnevno može ozbiljno oštetiti bubrege, piše Index.

Istraživanje, čiji su rezultati objavljeni u magazinu JAMA Network Open, uključivalo je 1180 odraslih osoba u dobi između 18 i 45 godina koje su imale neliječenu hipertenziju prvog stupnja (visoki krvni tlak).

Iako je studija trajala otprilike 16 godina, svaki od sudionika je provjeren tijekom praćenja u rasponu od sedam i pol godina. U to su vrijeme oni koji stoje iza studije pazili na hiperfiltraciju (stopa glomerularne filtracije koja se smatra višom od normalne), albuminuriju (previše albumina u urinu) i hipertenziju, a sve su to uobičajeni znakovi disfunkcije bubrega i bolesti bubrega.

Dok su proučavali dobivene rezultate, znanstvenici su prvo primijetili da je varijanta rs762551 gena CYP1A2 prisutna kod oko 50 posto sudionika, što znači da njihovo tijelo ne metabolizira kofein tako brzo kao što bi inače radilo. Također su otkrili da oni koji sporije metaboliziraju kofein imaju 2.7 puta veću vjerojatnost da će dobiti disfunkciju bubrega ako piju tri šalice kave ili više svaki dan. Točnije, imali su 2.5 puta veću vjerojatnost da će imati hiperfiltraciju, 2.7 puta veću vjerojatnost da će razviti albuminuriju i 2.8 puta veću vjerojatnost da će se suočiti s hipertenzijom.

"Ova nam studija pokazuje da kava, ako se pretjera s njezinim konzumiranjem, može ozbiljno oštetiti bubrege", upozorava liječnica Sara Mahdavi, glavna autorica spomenutog istraživanja.
