Šaljem vam fotografije kozica koje je moj prijatelj ulovio samo 30-ak metara daleko od lukobrana lučice Zenta u Splitu. Budući da su doista velike, najveća je duga 23 centimetara, zanima me je li riječ o uobičajenom slučaju ili se ovakav ulov može smatrati rijetkim i neobičnim. Također me zanima koja je ovo vrsta kozica.

V. Burazer, Split

Rak kojeg vam je prijatelj ulovio pripada kozicama i, kao što ste i sami primijetili, poprilično je velik. Stoga se i zove vrlo jednostavno: velika kozica, lat. naziva Melicertus kerathurus.

Budući da je vaš najveći primjerak bio dug 23 centimetra, moram reći da je to vrlo blizu njezine najveće dužine, s obzirom na to da ova vrsta može narasti do 25 centimetara u dužinu. Spolnu zrelost velika kozica doživljava s oko 40 milimetara dužine karapaksa (dužina trupa, bez repa). Iako se mrijesti tijekom cijele godine, najveći dio populacije mrijesti se od travnja do srpnja.

Ova kozica uglavnom se drži priobalnog područja na dubinama od pet do 75 metara. Obitava na pjeskovitim te muljevitim dnima, a iako se nalazi u moru, voli i bočatu vodu.

Kod nas je najčešća u Neretvanskom kanalu, gdje je love koćaricama, ali se lovi i u drugim jadranskim područjima. Tijekom dana uglavnom se skriva zakopana, a noću izlazi radi hranjenja, pri čemu lovi male mekušce, crve, rakove i bodljikaše.

Niste naveli kojim su ribolovnim alatom uhvaćene, ali u svakom slučaju, na području oko lučice Zenta ne bi se baš mogle očekivati veće količine ovih kozica, tako da ovaj ulov ne spada u uobičajene.

Što se tiče jestivosti, dobro je naglasiti da znam podosta ljudi koji bi jastoga mijenjali za istu količinu velike kozice, što dovoljno govori o njezinoj gastronomskoj vrijednosti među dobrim poznavateljima i sladokuscima.

Šaljem vam fotografije kozica koje je moj prijatelj ulovio samo 30-ak metara daleko od lukobrana lučice Zenta u Splitu. Budući da su doista velike, najveća je duga 23 centimetara, zanima me je li riječ o uobičajenom slučaju ili se ovakav ulov može smatrati rijetkim i neobičnim. Također me zanima koja je ovo vrsta kozica.

V. Burazer, Split

Rak kojeg vam je prijatelj ulovio pripada kozicama i, kao što ste i sami primijetili, poprilično je velik. Stoga se i zove vrlo jednostavno: velika kozica, lat. naziva Melicertus kerathurus.

Budući da je vaš najveći primjerak bio dug 23 centimetra, moram reći da je to vrlo blizu njezine najveće dužine, s obzirom na to da ova vrsta može narasti do 25 centimetara u dužinu. Spolnu zrelost velika kozica doživljava s oko 40 milimetara dužine karapaksa (dužina trupa, bez repa). Iako se mrijesti tijekom cijele godine, najveći dio populacije mrijesti se od travnja do srpnja.

Ova kozica uglavnom se drži priobalnog područja na dubinama od pet do 75 metara. Obitava na pjeskovitim te muljevitim dnima, a iako se nalazi u moru, voli i bočatu vodu.

Kod nas je najčešća u Neretvanskom kanalu, gdje je love koćaricama, ali se lovi i u drugim jadranskim područjima. Tijekom dana uglavnom se skriva zakopana, a noću izlazi radi hranjenja, pri čemu lovi male mekušce, crve, rakove i bodljikaše.

Niste naveli kojim su ribolovnim alatom uhvaćene, ali u svakom slučaju, na području oko lučice Zenta ne bi se baš mogle očekivati veće količine ovih kozica, tako da ovaj ulov ne spada u uobičajene.

Što se tiče jestivosti, dobro je naglasiti da znam podosta ljudi koji bi jastoga mijenjali za istu količinu velike kozice, što dovoljno govori o njezinoj gastronomskoj vrijednosti među dobrim poznavateljima i sladokuscima.

Velika kozica

Šaljem vam fotografije kozica koje je moj prijatelj ulovio samo 30-ak metara daleko od lukobrana lučice Zenta u Splitu. Budući da su doista velike, najveća je duga 23 centimetara, zanima me je li riječ o uobičajenom slučaju ili se ovakav ulov može smatrati rijetkim i neobičnim. Također me zanima koja je ovo vrsta kozica.

V. Burazer, Split

Rak kojeg vam je prijatelj ulovio pripada kozicama i, kao što ste i sami primijetili, poprilično je velik. Stoga se i zove vrlo jednostavno: velika kozica, lat. naziva Melicertus kerathurus.

Budući da je vaš najveći primjerak bio dug 23 centimetra, moram reći da je to vrlo blizu njezine najveće dužine, s obzirom na to da ova vrsta može narasti do 25 centimetara u dužinu. Spolnu zrelost velika kozica doživljava s oko 40 milimetara dužine karapa...
